Chapter 60
Lsabella's pov :
Tonight is also a clear night, and Brielle predicts a waning moon.
Although not as good as a full moon, we have no more time to wait, and tonight is our last chance.
Xavier was badly wounded, and although he had been bandaged on the plain, the run had reopened some of the deeper bite wounds. But Xavier made sure to insist on seeing me before he would accept treatment.
Taking advantage of the fact that the Alpha meeting outside the wall had not yet come to continue to trouble me, I accompanied Xavier to the hospital.
Xavier was lying prone on the bed while Dr. Wolf was stitching up the wound on his back.
Although we were all battle-hardened wolf warriors, there was still some pain from stitching up the wound directly without anesthetic, but Xavier seemed fine and had the presence of mind to gently squeeze my hand.
"Doesn't it hurt?"
His head was turned toward my side, his eyes bright and full of me: "It doesn't hurt when I have you with me."
We rarely got to spend time together after we confirmed our mate relationship, Xavier picked me up and took me back to Blood Moon Pack before going out on his own mission, and I was too wrapped up in the Alpha meeting outside to get away.
I held his hand tightly, feeling the warmth from his palm.
The older I get, the more afraid I get of being apart. When I went to the Blue Moon Pack for two months under Jasper's duress, I missed Xavier, but I never dreaded our separation so much.
I really wanted to live with Xavier in a place where there was no separation after everything was over.
"What's on your mind?" Xavier interrupted my thoughts softly.
"I'm thinking about our future life."
Xavier's eyes instantly lit up, and he tugged on my hand, so I obediently came over to him.
"Really, do you have any ideas for when we get married? Where do you want to move to? Or have a few kids, I'm all yours."
Hearing something so intimate, Dr. Wolf coughed, "Miss, do you need me to go out?"
I was also a little embarrassed, but Xavier was still big-hearted, he didn't know shyness at all: "No, we are all in one pack, you just continue your treatment."
I also nodded towards Dr. Wolf.
After Xavier assigned Dr. Wolf's work, he turned his head back to continue the conversation he just had: "Or are you thinking about something more recent, what style of wedding dress do you like? Do we need to look for a costume designer soon, and the ring, do you like so gemstone again?"
"Moonlight gemstone." Dr. Wolf interjected.
"Yeah, moonstone isn't out of the question..."
This is getting outrageous, what's the point of wearing such a big gemstone ring on my hand?
"No." I mercilessly interrupted Xavier's vision, "I'm going out to work, you two keep talking."
After saying that I really stood up, I wanted to go out and ask the Alpha's outside the wall if they had discussed it yet.
Xavier pivoted his upper body straight up despite the danger and pulled my hand back again as soon as he could.
"You're angry? Don't go, I won't say anything."
Dr. Wolf pressed him back to the bed with a frightened hand, "Are you crazy? I'm still sewing the wound."
I was also stunned by his action and slapped him on the head without thinking: "We won't see each other anymore? What are you doing?"
Xavier immediately looked at me with resignation and squeezed my hand even tighter.
"Can you promise me to stop being so impulsive? If you toss your body like this, you will definitely not live for many years, then I might as well not marry you, or else how much I will lose."
I was anxious and impulsive when I said this. I had lectured Xavier many times, but he could never remember. But I regretted it as soon as I said it, because I quickly realized that he would probably catch the strange point first.
Sure enough, Xavier's eyes immediately widened and if not for my eyes, he would have pounced on me: "You wanted to marry me, right? You wanted to marry me, didn't you?"
Xavier was so strange, we were just discussing wedding dresses and rings, why was he still so surprised about the marriage thing.
"Of course, we are MATE, it's the choice of the moon goddess," I said softly, "but why are you so excited? Haven't you thought about this matter?"
"I... I..." Xavier stammered for half a day, unable to say it, he suddenly raised his head and looked at me, his reddened eyes gripped my heart: "I thought about it, I thought about me and you getting married, but didn't I thought that you would think the same way."
I rubbed the tears that had not yet fallen from his face and leaned over to gently drop a kiss on the corner of his eyes.
"I'll be back as soon as I can, and we'll take our time discussing the marriage afterwards."
Brielle and Kyra were already waiting for me at the door.
I immediately put aside the matters related to Xavier first, and then took out the posture of answering the battle.
"Is there any news from the Alpha's side? Did they discuss a reason?"
Kyra immediately handed a thin page of documents to me: "Yes, Miss, the Alpha Council led by Mr. Felix informed us that we have found the person who trespassed our territory, just waiting for you to go out and discuss what to do."
I briefly glanced at the contents of the document, nothing new, but just a scapegoat, and then tricked me to hurry out to continue the discussion on how to invade my territory.
I handed the document back to Kyra.
"Okay, then we'll go out and see what new rhetoric they've found."
The gates slowly opened and once again I met the Alpha's outside the territory, except for Jasper who was all there. I noticed from a distance that they were not far from Lvy, who was tied up and unable to move.
"Good afternoon, gentlemen," I pulled out my chair and sat straight down.
Mr. Felix first looked at the crowd, then took the lead and said, "We have found out clearly that the former Beta under Yellow Moon Pack, Miss Lvy, led the squad to invade Blood Moon Pack's territory without the permission of the meeting. For such an act, we have issued a strong condemnation, we will send Miss Lvy to court, Miss Lsabella will not have to worry anymore."
It turns out that not only have they been pushed out to confess to the crime, but they have been fired from their positions. Not bad for a group of Alpha's who are much more experienced than me, so skilled in handling things like this.
And their Alpha Council is mainly in charge of a few of them, even if they send Lvy to court, that is not soon to be released.
I sneered: "Good swift handling, and I don't know how Yellow Moon Pack manages its men, how dare a Beta have the guts to invade the territory of other wolves with at least two squads of people? How dare she not take our Alpha Council into account?"
Gilbert heard the meaning in my words and was forced to stand up even if he didn't want to, "I'm really sorry, Miss Lsabella.
It's my failure to manage my men, I will definitely admonish them when I return."
Although he couldn't guess the real thoughts in Gilbert's heart, his acting skills were good and his sincerity was spot on.
"Mr. Gilbert polite, although your men are in need of a good reorganization, Beta unauthorized mobilization of warriors action, which one day is not dare to hit your idea?"
"Miss Lsabella has a point."
Eric looked at me: "But then again, Miss Lsabella, your North Woods is not really any secret ah."
My eyes immediately sharpened: "What does Mr. Eric mean by that? After seeing the illegal video, you are thinking of how to spy on the privacy of our wolf pack? Are you thinking of annexing us?"
"Where are the words, Miss Lsabella is too sensitive. We can not focus on this issue, then we still have to trouble Miss Lsabella about other things."
I raised my eyes just in time to complete a stare-down with Mr. Eric, and I understood what he meant, do they need me to do it now.
He didn't say any more, but placed a small bottle on the table.
"We're going to need Miss Lsabella's help."
