Chapter 20
Lsabella's pov :
Only Mr. Beta of the Illusion Moon Pack was willing to stand by our side. Together with the accompanying warriors, there were only four of us on the team.
Just like that, the United Continental Army, which originally had one team, was now down to two small teams. And we were separated from the large army by a river with swift currents that could not be swum over.
When the status quo evolved into this, we could only choose to accept it.
"The large force is now moving at full speed, around the snowy mountains into Purple Moon Pack territory, as quickly as possible, in a compressed time frame of two days, no mistakes."
"The mission of those on this side of the river is to raid Gary, the leader of the rogue army, and make sure to bring him under control."
Jasper's eyes always revert back to me when he gives these explanations, he is simply staring at me now, is he waiting for me to let go?
It was impossible, I was going to stand up fully in front of him and he would pay for his rashness.
I took stock of my supplies and exchanged ideas with my team again.
"Then it's up to the four of us to surprise the cemetery and head out now."
I walked around Jasper, ignoring his eyes like he was about to kill, and headed in the direction of the forest.
"You did you are not angry with me?"
Jasper's voice suddenly sounded from behind me, and I turned around to see the anger implied under his expressionless face.
Why would he still understand that even now? I was communicating with him as an Alpha, not as his MATE, and I would not be as attached to him as he wanted me to be, and as long as he still held such thoughts, there would never be a reconciliation between us.
Unfortunately, he is now completely incapable of understanding such a thing.
"Mr. Jasper, I am also an Alpha, and like you, I have to make choices every day for the future of my people. My choice today is this, Gary in my eyes is a man who is crazy about love, he is now staying in the cemetery with his lover and I am now going to lead my squad and rush to the cemetery to catch him."
I don't know how effective these words were again, Jasper fell into silence.
I set out on my journey with my squad.
I gave them my orders, "Since you are now standing by my side, you are the ones who trust my judgment in this matter, then until we take control of Gary, you are to obey my command absolutely, we are now a tight team."
"Yes!"
"I don't know your name yet?" I looked to the Illusion Moon Pack warrior, who was still very young.
"Miss, my name is Amos."
"Hello, Amos," I shook his hand, "Bless us with success."
Such high-intensity combat is a necessary skill for a Wolf Pack warrior.
In fact, the period of peace in the East Continent was only less than ten years, and it was not completely peaceful during this period, during which there were always some rogues harassing some packs, and skirmishes happened from time to time, so the pack warriors had all experienced training and actual combat.
"Take a break," I called off the squad that had been running for a long time.
Amos was a bit weaker in the end, he was at the end of the group, although he did not speak, he already showed some fatigue.
"Amos, are you okay? You don't have to push yourself too hard."
Amos, who was suddenly named by me, immediately stood up: "Miss, I'm fine."
I suddenly felt funny when I saw his rushed appearance: "I know, sit down and take a rest."
Just as I finished my sentence, Xavier came around and sat down in front of me, he was so close to me that Amos was completely blocked by him.
Xavier's behavior was too deliberate.
But he acted as if nothing had happened and handed me a piece of jerky: "Eat some."
Was he jealous? Just because of my few words of concern for Amos? I couldn't help but laugh again, can Xavier be so childish sometimes?
Amos is a warrior of Illusion Moon Pack, even if he is willing to come to Blood Moon Pack, with his level, he still can't hold the Beta position, so Xavier's concern is very superfluous.
Besides, Xavier and I have been living together since we were kids, who can replace his place in my heart.
"What are you laughing at?" Xavier asked.
"I'm not laughing at anything," I grabbed his pocket: "Where's the map, show it to me again."
Xavier spread out the map, I had seen it many times long ago, in fact, I was just hesitating about one thing now.
This cemetery is the Purple Moon Pack cemetery, where all the clan members are buried. That means this cemetery is big enough.
The cemetery will have a special place to bury the pack leader, and Yana, as the pack's former Luna, should also be buried there according to tradition.
Since Gary as well as successfully occupied the Purple Moon Pack, may possibly as well as disposed of Andy, I guess he must be guarding his lover's side at that time.
Then the elite forces of the rogue army he led should also be here, which means our raid will be difficult.
But if we don't take the risk we won't be able to get a small force directly into Purple Moon Pack territory. Either way, seizing the opportunity to raid is to our advantage.
The only concern is that there are so many guards in the cemetery that even a surprise attack would be difficult to subdue Gary, who after all has served as a lone wolf for twenty years...
"Surprise raid is our only advantage," I swept a glance at the three people in front of me and said solemnly: "The cemetery is located on a gentle slope, we will explore the terrain when we arrive nearby, and discuss the rest at that time. The guards there will be very strict, although the mission is also very important, the preservation of our fighting strength is always the first, who enough not to risk their lives."
"Yes!"
Xavier took my hand: "Is it the same for the Alpha?"
I knew what he meant: "Yes, we are all the same."
Purple Moon Pack's territory wasn't that big, and we soon sneaked into the forest on the outskirts of the village. There were some rogues patrolling the area.
I don't advocate making the first move to expose us unless it's necessary, and I give the sign for infiltration and order them to wait in place.
From this angle, I couldn't see the full extent of Purple Moon Pack's territory, but all the houses within sight had their doors and windows closed and no one was in sight.
As the information said, Purple Moon Pack's clan was already under control, which made it even more clear that a surprise attack was our only way out now.
Following the creek, we stalked towards the graveyard shown on the map. In order to avoid the questers in the rogue army, we needed to cross the creek to the opposite side every so often and conceal our scent through the flowing water.
This would take some time, but we had to be cautious now that we were in enemy-controlled territory.
Finally, as darkness fell, we reached the cemetery.
The cemetery, located on a gentle slope, stretched downward, and we were located in the woods halfway up the slope of the cemetery.
Including Amos, all four of us had been on the battlefield, and the scent of the enemy was instantly picked up by us.
"It's not good," I whispered, "there are many enemies."
"Yes," Xavier, who was acting as our squad's explorer, soon returned, "While these rogues are not very alert, their numbers are simply too much."
That's not exactly bad news; who are so many rogues guarding?
