Chapter 26

Lsabella's pov :
When I opened my eyes again, I found myself in a room, although it was a strange room, but I should have been rescued.
As if to confirm my suspicions, the door "creaked" and opened.
At this moment, I have sat up, and pushed the door in the person exactly eye to eye.
Jasper was followed by Declan, and when he saw me wake up, Jasper told Declan to get the doctor.
"How do you feel?"
He sat straight down on the edge of my bed.
I honestly didn't remember what had happened before.
"Fine...what's happening to me? Did you bring me back?"
Jasper's attitude was rare and kind: "Have you even forgotten? You were attacked by a rogue while hunting, and then bitten by a poisonous snake. I was the one who brought you back."
Memory is reviving a little, my mind flashed some strange images.
"You saved me, then you and the hooligans head-on clash? Or what else did you encounter at the scene?"
"No, there was only you and your prey in the cave, the rest was nothing."
A cave? Why do I remember that I passed out right outside? Did I bring myself and my prey to the cave for refuge in my own delirium? I just asked Jasper that way because I was worried that Silas's head was in my vicinity and I couldn't explain the matter well.
If I tell Nick's story, I don't know how Jasper will suspect me yet.
I still remember the thrilling scene when the snake lunged at me. I nailed it to a tree with a knife, but it still bit me on the arm. I touched my arm, which was wrapped in a section of bandage that should have been taken care of.
By this time the doctor arrived and Jasper moved out of the way.
"Miss Lsabella is recovering well, mainly because of the timely application of herbs after the bite..."
I no longer cared what the doctor said after that, I remembered the rest of the clip.
I was long in a semi-conscious state, and I felt the cold herbs fall on my little arm. And the nice scent in the air, and the cool skin and the reassuring embrace...
I jumped up from the bed with a jerk.
Both the doctor and Jasper were startled: "What are you doing?"
My face burned in a flash, was that an absurd dream or was it something that really happened? My mate...wasn't that Jasper?
I stole a glance at him, but I thought he looked normal, how could that be? Could it be that I was mistaken for someone else at the time?
Gosh, wouldn't that be even worse?
I covered my face in embarrassment and then answered them in a thin voice: "Nothing...the hunt didn't work and I felt humiliated."
Of course that wasn't the reason, it was good that I didn't blame Jasper for the bad decision regarding the hunt.
But Jasper believed my words: "encounter rogue such a situation is also rather special, you do not have to be too sad."
Jasper's words actually had a comforting meaning in them, but I was already in a state of complete shame and didn't notice.
I had mostly recovered and was bored lying in the hospital room, so Xavier took me for a walk outside.
We walked around the gardens of the Purple Moon Pack, which had only suffered from the trampling of the hooligans and was much broken and not yet fully repaired.
We found benches and sat down, and Xavier pulled out the sandwiches he had prepared ahead of time.
"You try it."
He looked at me expectantly, and I took a big bite, as he had hoped.
"Huh?" As I chewed I noticed something special about this sandwich, there was a large piece of pork sandwiched inside, and it was very tasty.
"It's wild boar?"
"Yes, this is the wild boar that you hunted down."
I then remembered again the boar that I had shot into a hedgehog, and those who had participated in the actual battle could see that it was a tactic needed only when they could not transform their forms.
So they all knew that I hadn't been able to recover at that point?
Forget it, don't think about it so much, so what if I was ridiculed, now I have Xavier by my side.
He is now looking at me with gentle eyes, and my mood is soothed very over.
"Is that the wild boar you shipped back for me? So thoughtful, I'm touched to the core."
"That's what I should do."
Hearing my compliment, he bowed his head slightly and smiled sheepishly.
My eyes swept over his cheeks and suddenly noticed a little red mark under his open collar.
I didn't even think about it, my finger stroked it directly: "What's this? The forests of Purple Moon Pack are not like the forests of our clan, there are too many poisonous snakes and insects here, don't forget to medicate yourself if you get bitten."
As my fingertips fell, Xavier's skin stirred up a whole wariness. He flinched back in panic, then apologized to me, "Sorry, miss, I was startled."
Could it be that my hand was electrified? His reaction was too big.
"It's okay..."
I looked at his face, trying to see something through his expression, but all I ended up noticing was the reddened ears.
Xavier was actually shy? But we could have grown up together, and I hadn't seen such a big reaction from him before when he was topless and let me bandage his wounds.
I couldn't help but sigh, he's still growing up.
I suddenly noticed a few servants who were busy carrying wood, and only then did I suddenly remember that I had slept in and that today was already the last day of hunting day.
"Tonight is the hunting day campfire ah."
The first thing you need to do is to get a good idea of what you're doing. Otherwise, don't join the bonfire party then."
I have no reason not to attend the bonfire party, I still don't know who is secretly laughing at me, I as the only Alpha, it is very suggested that I am special than others.
"Nah, I feel fine, the bonfire party is just for fun, what could it be."
Seeing that Xavier still had a tight line of lips, I lowered my stance again and came up to his ear, "Besides, don't I have you to protect me?"
Xavier's ears got even redder and he dodged away in a flash, seeing the smile on my face, his shyness added to a bit of anger: "You did that on purpose, Lsabella!"
I felt so innocent: "Which thing are you talking about?"
Xavier's smile faded, his eyes darkened, and I detected the knot of his throat rolling up and down.
"You...really don't remember?"
Remember what?
I felt so close to him, as if I were leaning on his arms right now. A momentary feeling of familiarity rushes through me, but I catch nothing.
I catch a hint of scent. Are there still flowers in this yard?
"Miss Lsabella?"
The sudden arrival of a call behind me startled me and I bounced away from my seat next to Xavier: "I'm here, what can I do for you?"
Wyatt was also startled by my actions, "It's Jasper, he wants to ask you to come over."
"Oh, I'll be right there."
I turned to Xavier again, "You'll be in your room, I'll be back after that."
"Yes."
I don't know if it was just me, but Xavier's mood suddenly turned low again.
Xavier's Pov:
My time alone with Lsabella was ruined by Jasper again, just like the countless times before.
I found Lsabella first, when she had just passed out from poisoning.
I felt the despair that overflowed my whole body. If Lsabella really had an accident in front of me, how could I face the world without her?
I almost jumped up and held Lsabella in my arms, luckily she was only poisoned by the snake.
Her lips were tightly closed at the moment, caught in a painful hallucination, and my heart hurt as much as hers.
I couldn't delay any longer, so I carried her to a nearby cave. After settling down, rushed out to find herbs.
It was not until the cold herbs were applied to her arm that my heart returned to where it belonged.
Lsabella's condition is also better, except for the body temperature is a little high, she sleeps quite smoothly, occasionally will hear her a few murmurs.
Is it a dream?
I put my arm around Lsabella and slowly lay on her side, let us stay here for a while.
Lsabella seems to have sensed my presence, she suddenly shifted a few times, then turned sideways and shrank into my arms.
I dodged backward, she shrank forward again, I anxiously clamped her arms: "Lsabella!
I don't know if she heard me, but Lsabella frowned and gave a very aggravated expression: "Hot!"
"What?"
"Hot!"
Lsabella shrank forward and hugged my waist directly, her bare skin pressed against me.
"So comfortable."
A shiver ran through my body, and I don't think I had any firm willpower at all.
I slowly withdrew my arms and wrapped them around Lsabella in my arms.
My cold lips fell gently on Lsabella's body, and she gradually calmed down under my but soothing. I did what the old me didn't dare to think about, the person I love so much is now in my arms all to myself.
I don't know how long it took for the temperature of Lsabella to return to normal, I had to go out and deal with the aftermath.
I passed by the boar, thinking that this is after all Lsabella's hard-fought prey, looking at its body more than a dozen arrow wounds, you know how hard Lsabella was then.
After shooting the boar blind, you can actually transform the form to pounce on it, but Lsabella was in human form, so she could only shoot arrows to continue to consume the prey's strength.
I dragged the boar to the mouth of the cave, hoping Lsabella would be able to eat her prey on this hunting day.
Silas's all needed to be disposed of, preferably without any relation to Lsabella.
I ran to the edge of Purple Moon Pack territory for this purpose, disguised as if I had been attacked by a rogue.
By the time I was done, Jasper found Xavier, and I watched from the shadows as he took Lsabella away, but ultimately did nothing.
When will I be able to embrace her in the sunlight?
Charlotte's Pov:
I watched as the Blue Moon Pack warriors carried Silas' body back from the edge of Purple Moon Pack territory, and the wolf doctor identified him as having had his neck snapped by a transformed werewolf.
I felt the coldness all over my body. I had made sure that I would succeed, and I had run in the opposite direction to hunt in order to free myself from suspicion.
Silas didn't even seem to hurt Lsabella a finger before he was killed by a bite from some wolf.
I'm sure it wasn't that Xavier, he couldn't make it in time.
So who could it be? Could Lsabella's little pack send her another bodyguard this powerful?
Why does this seemingly simple Lsabella have so many unexplainable powers?
Not only was she able to gain Jasper's affection in a very short time, she was also able to gather so many helpers around her at the same time.
There was a werewolf that I didn't know about but could kill a Gamma with one bite that saved Lsabella.
I watched as Jasper carried her back, the worry and concern shining in his eyes were so foreign to me.
Even that fragile woman had not made Jasper lose his cool like that, he had completely abandoned his identity and decorum and carried Lsabella to his room himself.
Beneath my calm exterior, I was caught up in a frenzy of jealousy and hatred.
I went back to my room and closed the door, and all the objects I could see were smashed on the floor.
Porcelain, table lamps, decorations, chairs, whatever fell the loudest I smashed.
It was only when there was nothing left in the entire room that I could drop that I finally stopped from the madness.
I fell to my knees in the middle of the mess, uncontrollable tears and wild laughter appeared on my face at the same time.
This woman is really funny, is she protected by the moon goddess?
Let me do it myself this time, I don't believe she can still survive unharmed!
