Chapter 32
Jasper's pov.
It was like I had fallen into some kind of irredeemable madness, making more and more wrong commitments and decisions than I had expected, making me realize that although more than ten years had passed, I still didn't fully understand myself.
Lsabella stood on her tiptoes and a soft, warm kiss fell on the corner of my mouth.
This moment of intimacy stirred up memories I had buried in my heart.
On the day of the hunt, all the Alpha returned and gathered around the campfire to discuss how the border rogues had been expelled, and I noticed the absence of Lsabella.
"Where's Lsabella? Is she still back?"
"Yes, sir, Miss Lsabella is not here."
Damn, she can't really have no way to transform her form, right?
I had a bad feeling in my heart before this, but when I reminded Lsabella, she very meanly rejected my concern.
I was also clogged with anger, why can't Lsabella talk to me properly, this is not the way she treats people, is she deliberately targeting me?
But when I finally found Lsabella, who had fallen into a deep sleep in the cave, after spending a long time, all my anger disappeared.
I held her tightly in my arms, our mate relationship at work at the moment, and I felt my insecure heart calmed by her presence, was she the medicine the moon goddess had sent to heal me? But I already had my own medicine.
Only when Lsabella fell into a deep sleep could I feel her so close to me.
Not only can she lie in my arms and not stare at me with her pretty eyes, this feeling also includes the closeness of our hearts.
I looked at her pale face and fragile features at this time, and I had flashbacks to the feeling that she and I were actually very similar.
We both carry a heavy past, cloaked in Alpha, we seem to be the scenery, but in reality, we are the loneliest existence on the East Continent.
Not to mention that there are so many people counting on me, waiting for me to fall from the altar.
In contrast, this woman with a bad attitude seems much more amiable, she is at least a person who is as one inside and out, she will not stab me in the back.
If Lsabella is willing to lower her posture a bit more and stop calling my bluff, I play all can give her what she wants.
Blood Moon Pack safety or Lsabella's Luna throne, I can give her everything.
Can I give her all...?
I'm being open-minded enough, I'm indulging her in everything.
Including that legendary moonstone that Lsabella wanted to wear for her Luna ceremony. I couldn't help but smile softly. No matter which woman, there is no escaping the love of jewelry. And Lsabella's love is definitely worthy of my identity. The gem she wants is one of the hardest to get on the East Continent, and its existence is even second only to picking the moon and stars in the sky.
But there are too many mysteries about this gem, and by these mysteries are involved in many questions.
I'm sure it's not that simple.
Lsabella's pov.
Maybe this is an important turning point in my relationship with Jasper, where we are outwardly getting along as close mates, but behind the scenes we have our own thoughts.
I don't know if that's how it is with people in power, but Jasper doesn't know the art of apologizing, and he never seemed to express his apologies for the hurt he caused me in the past. And I was inclined to think that he would give me some indication after our relationship had progressed.
I stood at the door and watched as he gently soothed Olivia.
Now my mind is gone, but then I think Jasper is a very strange person, he juggles me and Olivia together, as if the two can occupy a place, I'm sure he won't give up Olivia, so what exactly does he want on the full moon?
Olivia also didn't seem like someone with a heart big enough to share Jasper with me equally, so what the hell was she putting up with me for now?
"Where's your Beta? He seems to be very busy? I haven't seen him lately for a long time."
I was having lunch with Jasper and when I heard his question, I froze for a moment because I was just thinking back to last night's events as well.
No need to stress though, the information I had available was perfectly capable of helping me gag Jasper.
"I thought our Mr. Alpha knew everything, my little pack was retaliated by rogues yesterday, and the already poor territory is having an even harder time this time."
Jasper's shift in vision was captured precisely by me, and I continued to increase my efforts: "Then Mr. Alpha, the most intelligent man on the East Continent, must know why the rogues retaliated against us, right? If you can share some kindness with us, I can still go back to save my people."
"You can't go back, that was our agreement."
Jasper immediately dismissed my proposal.
"But it's true that the Blood Moon Pack suffered because of this joint operation. I can give you some supplies that will just make up for this loss and also ease your worries, what do you think?"
Is this the Alpha of the Great Pack? What a generous gesture.
I gave a sweet smile that I wouldn't believe myself:.
"Then thank our Mr. Alpha in advance."
But such a small tactic seemed to have a good effect on Jasper, who showed satisfaction at my compliment.
"You're welcome."
With my agreement with Jasper, his attitude toward capturing the moonstone became as eager as mine.
We set out this afternoon for Fai Moon Pack, and we agreed with several other Alpha's to meet together at Fai Moon Pack's territory.
Fai Moon Pack is close to Blue Moon Pack, so Jasper will drop Olivia off at his territory as well.
I watched them get off and watched them part in pain.
To prevent Olivia from being too psychologically challenged and having a stress reaction, I told Xavier to stay in the car.
He tapped on the window in boredom to get my attention.
Seeing Jasper finally finish his parting ritual, I retracted my eyes and looked at him again.
"You're not doing it right, no woman would not be jealous." Jasper made his comment to me, "But it's good, it saves a lot of trouble."
I had nothing left to say after he had told me everything that was right and wrong. I had been in the car all day and was not in the mood to argue with him.
After another sleep in the car, by the time I came over again, we just arrived at Fai Moon Pack.
Mr. Aaron, who was now the Alpha of the pack, was the brother of the late Mr. Liam, another old acquaintance. I told Xavier to follow the group and try not to hang around Aaron's face for safety's sake, we didn't know how much evidence he had gotten yet.
Mr. Aaron was already waiting for us at the door, under the influence of Jasper, although I have no hostility towards Aaron, but now always feel that Mr. Aaron's kind smile, seems to really hide other emotions.
"You two Alpha is the earliest to come, also have to thank you on this matter ah, I have prepared the villa, you two first go to rest a little?"
I did not answer, but looked at Jasper. i gave him enough face and waited for him to respond.
"No," Jasper replied slowly while tossing the jacket he took off to Declan, "The elders of the Blue Moon Pack have gathered information about the moonstone and should be sending it over soon, so let's go straight to the meeting. "
Mr. Aaron showed an astonished expression, "As expected of the Alpha of the strongest pack in our East Continent continent, the efficiency of the work can't be compared to us small packs."
Seeing Mr. Aaron cast a glance at me, I gave him a smile as a response.
Mr. Aaron seems to be much smoother than his brother, can he not see Jasper's contempt for him? It seems that this Alpha is not easy to smile in such a situation.
Fai Moon Pack's prison was just down the road from the castle, and Jasper and I exchanged a glance, and he understood what I meant.
"Is this where the rogue is being held?"
"Yes, Mr. Jasper, would you like to go in and take a look?"
"Is it convenient?"
"Of course it's convenient."
Fai Moon Pack's prison was underground, and I felt the cold air that greeted me as the gloomy prison entrance went all the way down.
"Miss Lsabella must be careful." Mr. Aaron held out his hand toward me at the entrance of the stairs.
This seemed to me a gentlemanly act containing prejudice and mockery, I smiled at it and jumped straight down.
With a shout from the people around me, I landed safely and Jasper let out a light chuckle from the side: "But it's not soft at all, and you won't get the care of others."
I shrugged, why would I want to be taken care of? Waiting for him to save me like Olivia?
Deep in the dungeon, in one of the largest cells with the thickest walls, I saw the bound rogue through a small window.
His upper body was naked and covered with scars from the interrogation, but the wounds and blood could hardly hide his lean body.
I looked stunned until I was pulled aside by Jasper: "Are you looking so fascinated? Don't you have a mate of your own?"
I gave him a blank look, really hoping Jasper's overconfidence wouldn't interfere with our plans.
"He's too strong."
"So?" I noticed that everyone in the entourage, including Jasper and Aaron, laughed.
These stupid men, refusing to trust a woman's sixth sense: "It's hard for a man like that to fear death, how could he give up the whereabouts of the moonstone so easily."
The moonstone is mysterious enough, and its true magic few people will know, the secret that has been silent for so many years has news at this time, the sudden appearance of this rogue, really very perverse.
