Chapter 44
Jasper's pov.
Everything was ready, and I wanted Dr. Wolf to swear for me that he promised me he could do what he had promised me.
Then it was good that I had come this far, and success was really close at hand.
I did not hesitate to knock the now aged witch to the ground, I did not hesitate to force the moonstone back to the Blue Moon Pack, just to reach the future that is completely cut off from the past. Now I have not only escaped from the past, but I also have the present.
I am about to cure Olivia, who became weak and sick because of saving me, and also got Lsabella, who is as afraid and weak as I am, and we will start a happy and beautiful life, and it seems that after tomorrow, all my wishes in life will be fulfilled.
I almost broke the Blue Moon Pack tradition by looking ahead at Lsabella's jewelry for the Luna ceremony.
But there were a lot of people in the room, and they reminded me like elders in the pack. I actually felt a strong sense of belonging in that moment, and I looked at Lsabella beside me, and even though she was looking away at the moment, I felt more and more that the Moon Goddess hadn't treated me badly.
From the time my family was torn apart by the witch, to the death of my parents, and now, I have always been a sense of a broken family, while I also think I do not need the care of anyone, I play all by myself can survive.
But just at this moment, I deeply feel the happiness of having a family around me. I stand on this land, not empty on all sides, and I know that on my side, there is someone who belongs to me, and she will always be by my side.
I was at the door, like a silly boy who had just fallen in love. I knew enough about my Beta to not even have to look at him:.
"Declan, laugh at me if you want, I know I look silly now."
"No, sir." Declan looked at me seriously: "I'm genuinely happy for you, you're about to component your own family."
"Thank you," I stopped trying to hide the smile at the corners of my mouth, "I'll be happy."
Olivia vomited blood again and I sighed, asking Declan to stay and tell Lsabella not to wait for me, that I would come over to see her when I was done.
Kyra was already the best wolf doctor in Blue Moon Pack, and there was absolutely no point in getting discouraged when Olivia had made it this far.
But her face was miserable, yet she managed to hold on to my hand tightly.
"I don't think I can hold on...it's so busy out there, but what does it have to do with me?"
I tucked her arm back under the covers, "Don't think like that, you've held on so far, bear with me a little longer and soon you'll be relieved."
"Really? The illness has blinded me, I can't see any hope now."
"It's true," I patiently persuaded her, "Get a good night's sleep, and as soon as you come over, everything will be better."
Olivia obediently closed her eyes, her long, slender lashes casting a small shadow under her eyes.
The corners of her mouth pursed up tightly, as if she didn't believe me yet.
I grabbed her hand and waited patiently for her to fall asleep.
It's really close, and we'll all be relieved.
Lsabella's pov :
I was called up by the maids in the early hours of the morning, and although they worked harder than I did, I still couldn't understand why I had to get up so early to get ready, so that it would be easy to think that the ritual was able to be completely finished during the day.
"Here's the thing, ma'am. We still have a whole process, Mr. Jasper wants to keep it short, but the three elders mean that the process that should be there still needs to be there."
"I see."
My current bedroom was large enough, but there were still a very large number of people standing, and they were serving my dressing in order.
Among these maids were those who did my makeup, those who did my hair, those who held jewelry boxes, and those who delivered gowns.
In short, from the early hours of this morning, all the specifications were in line with the identity of Blue Moon Pack.
And I just had to be a good boy and accept the arrangements.
It occurred to me at this point that I didn't even know the list of guests present.
"Who are the guests today? Besides the Blue Moon Pack people, are there any others invited?"
"No more, ma'am. Mr. Jasper didn't invite anyone from outside the race."
"What?"
I was a little surprised, I thought that such an important day would be attended by Alpha from other clans.
We hadn't communicated with each other after the joint operation of the Moonstone. Jasper was clearly concerned about whether the ownership of the Moonstone would cause a dispute before, so how come he hastily brought the Moonstone back again?
I'm a little curious about what happened after that. But I'm afraid there's no chance to talk about it today.
Will there be in the future? I'm not sure.
By the time it was fully light, my dressing was finally nearing its end.
The maids held up a mirror for me, and I finally saw my full face.
I can probably act as a swan princess, the bustier style to reveal my delicate collarbone, swan feathers decorated out of the sleeves by for me to add a low-key flamboyant temperament.
The pure white dress is a dress I would rarely choose, but this one did not clash with my temperament at all, red lips and my red hair on the moonstone crown, are highlighting my beauty.
Looking at myself in the mirror was both strange and familiar.
"Am I...beautiful?"
"Of course! My Lady! You are the most beautiful and noble woman I have ever seen!"
The maid who was doing my makeup on the side was already excited and on the verge of tears.
I frowned at her excited look, but I couldn't hide the smile on the corner of my own mouth.
I put up Luna's front: "Calm down, we have a lot of things to do today."
The maids in the room all bowed toward me, "Yes , ma'am!"
The master of ceremonies announced my appearance when the ceremony as well as held a few steps up.
I was covered with a white veil and slowly walked out of the castle with the maids leading the way.
The clansmen watching on both sides of the road threw flower petals at me, wishing their Luna happiness and beauty forever.
The square was in front of me.
Jasper turned his back on me and stood on the stage.
He heard the clan's shouts of surprise.
I flashed a smile towards him through the white veil, while Jasper was more than a little dumbfounded at the moment, and he froze for a long time, as the emcee reminded him twice.
"Sir, you may now greet your Luna."
"Sir?"
Jasper seemed to wake up from a beautiful dream, yet he woke up and realized that this beautiful dream was the reality.
He took a few steps off the stage and extended his hand toward me.
I also took a few steps forward and handed my hand to Jasper.
I felt the warmth of Jasper's palm as he squeezed my hand and held it tightly again.
"You look so good today." He quietly came up to my ear.
But he was still through the white veil, and I was still trying to look at him through the haze like a fog, so how did he know I was pretty today.
I stood at Jasper's side and he led me through the whole process.
Finally, he was able to turn to me and help me lift the white veil over my head.
The moment the hazy fog left my eyes, before I had time to raise my eyes, I heard shouts of surprise from the stage and the audience.
I don't know if it was the light of the moonstone, or my appearance, Jasper stood in front of me and couldn't take his eyes off.
The stage was full of cheers and coos, and I secretly pulled Jasper's arm.
"You're so beautiful." Jasper held my face and repeated to once again.
"You already said that."
"I imagined it before, now I confirm it, you're as beautiful as you were in my dream."
"Now, Mr. Jasper can kiss your Luna."
The clansmen on the stage all started to make a cacophony of uproarious noises.
I, who seemed to be outside the whole thing, finally seemed to be infected by the enthusiastic atmosphere.
Jasper stared at me for a few more seconds, his gaze gentle, as if he wanted to carve me into his soul.
I was half sucked in, but the other half of my soul was still standing, because she remembered my past with Jasper, remembered how Jasper treated me, remembered the promises Xavier and I hadn't said yet.
I knew I couldn't hide, and I closed my eyes.
Then Jasper kissed me.
It was a solemn and at the same time tender kiss. The stage was quiet, as if everyone was also caught in this quiet tenderness.
I opened my eyes secretly.
He had a similar appearance to Xavier, and when he was close to me, it brought me a different feeling.
I have to admit that Jasper does have the gift of being an Alpha, he doesn't get trapped by emotions, he was able to perform the Luna ceremony with me despite his love for Olivia; although Charlotte pursued him persistently for so long, Olivia was still able to casually throw her back into the clan for introspection.
And what about me? The warmer and lighter the touch of my lips, the colder my heart grows; what will this cold man do to me tonight?
Jasper let go of me and I gasped, still not able to come out of the kiss I had just received, that was very gentle treatment but separated two cold hearts.
I was now in a growing trance, Jasper was still the same man, but Jasper didn't seem to be the same man anymore.
Jasper wrapped me in his arms as he shouted to the stage and announced.
"Bless your Luna!"
I shrank into Jasper's arms and listened to the loud blessings from the stage.
"Bless Luna!"
The flower petals began to fall again at this moment, and I reached out and caught one, as if happiness was also within my reach.
The daytime ceremony was over, but the night was the highlight of Luna's ceremony, as we needed to thank the moon goddess for her blessings on the night of the full moon.
I lay in bed exhausted, trying to catch up on this morning's sleep.
"Don't be in a hurry to sleep," Jasper fished me out of bed: "How come you were so energetic when you participated in the war."
"Can that be the same?"
I muttered, but still sat up from the bed.
"Good boy, drink this bowl of tonic."
I frowned at the bowl of black liquid in Jasper's hand, and I hoped I was thinking too darkly.
"What kind of tonic is this? Why would I need to drink a tonic?"
"It's from the three elders, you are so tired now, of course you need a tonic."
Jasper patiently persuaded, and blew for me.
"It's not hot anymore, drink it."
I took it and tilted my head and drank up the bowl in one gulp.
I spat out my tongue, "It's so bitter."
Jasper had a faint smile on his face, but I could tell he was in a good mood.
I took this time to remove my crown and wrapped it in a velvet hanky in front of Jasper.
"Here, you keep it."
"Why, the ceremony isn't over yet."
I gave him a blank look, "Are you still trying to trick me? You didn't invite even one Alpha to such an important ceremony, did you not negotiate the ownership of the moonstone?"
Jasper first froze, then smiled again, "You're so smart."
I shoved the package into his hand, "Go ahead and do your thing, I need to take a break."
"I'll come get you after then."
"Okay."
After hearing the door close, I sat up from the bed again and I pulled out another velvet package under my heavy skirt, which also contained a crown set with moonstones.
Sometimes things are just that simple.
