Chapter 51

Lsabella's pov :
Xavier did what he said he would do, and he really carried me all the way back.
It was almost dawn and there were a few soldiers on duty on the road.
I shyly cowered in Xavier's arms and played dead, the bad-hearted man pausing briefly to say hello to the soldiers.
I finally made my way to the building, and at this point I had to feel that Blood Moon Pack's territory was small or had the benefit of being small.
Xavier skillfully entered my room and laid me down on the bed.
I grabbed my quilt from Xavier's hand: "Okay, I'm in my room, thank you."
Xavier didn't have any intention of leaving, instead he went around to the other side of the bed, "No way, you're kicking me out now? I'm so sad."
He lifted the other corner of the quilt and lay down with it.
I was speechless as I stared at him with wide eyes. Ever since I had established a mate relationship with Xavier, it was like he had flipped a switch. And how did he get thicker skin all of a sudden?
I pushed him with my hand, but he grabbed me.
"What?" I shouted, pretending to be angry.
Xavier's half face shrank under the covers and his eyes pretended to be closed: "I have to ask you what you're doing? Not sleeping properly and moving your hands around here."
He has learned to sue first, then where can I put my Alpha's dignity?
I reached out and put my foot against his waist: "Are you going to go down, or I'll kick you?"
I felt Xavier's side move through the covers, and just as I was rejoicing in the fact that my command was still working, Xavier poked his head in my direction.
I gazed into deep eyes and a mouth with a hint of a smile, and alarm bells went off inside me.
But it was too late for me to duck back. Xavier grabbed my arm and brought me into his arms, then he just held me tightly and laid me down on the bed.
Of course, he didn't forget to cover up the blanket again.
My face burned red again in that moment.
Xavier and I were close together and could feel each other's body heat and breath, I tried to back up a little but so could not break free.
"Be haunted, just rest for a while."
Xavier's voice came from the top of my head, and I quieted down at once.
I try to adjust my breathing to calm my fiercely beating heart.
"Do you smell that?"
"Wh...what?"
Xavier chuckled softly above my head, his voice carrying a sense of insatiable laziness after a predator's feast, suing into my heart.
"It's the aroma we match."
It was then that I quieted my mind and noticed the scent that entwined the two of us. This scent is very nice, the top note is crisp and fresh, but possesses a warm undercurrent, and I shrink into Xavier's arms, surprisingly quickly getting sleepy.
"I've smelled this before." I spoke with a sleepy, jarred Xavier.
"Really? When was that?"
"I think it was at the Alpha conference, I thought it was your perfume then."
Alpha laughed again, and his hand on my waist fished back up so that I was lying full length in his arms.
"So Lsabella sensed me a long time ago, right?"
I suddenly thought of something, so I pushed my sleep to once more and opened my eyes to look at Xavier.
Xavier sensed my movement and looked down at me as well, "What's wrong?"
"I have a question."
"Go ahead."
I was thinking about what happened when the mate relationship was revealed, why did I think that that that scent came from Jasper? And he could smell my scent too.
"Didn't I awaken the MATE relationship during the Alpha meeting at first? I think you also awakened at the same time as me at that time, right? But did something happen then? Why didn't we connect successfully?"
"Oh, that's when." Xavier's eyes looked up to the ceiling as if he was recalling the scene at that time. "I also awakened the wolf at that time, and Geb told me that there seemed to be another force inside me, and the two forces were clashing, and Geb had to help me choke off one of them in order to protect me."
Hearing a situation I hadn't heard of at all before, I immediately rolled over and lay on my side facing Xavier: "Another force? Do you know exactly what it is?"
Xavier shook his head: "Geb doesn't know either, but he told me something big is going to happen."
I actually thought about this before, Xavier and Jasper would be held hostage by the witch in the first place, it must not be a random event.
Because the Blue Moon Pack was a big wolf pack at the time, risking being hunted by wolves to force the Alpha to indirectly kill their own children, even if Nora was the top witch on the continent, it would have been a death sentence.
And Nora herself admitted that she saw a few of us in the prophecy, but just because the three of us were good enough?
I knew I had the moonstone back then, but what about the other two? Could this be the reason Nora held them hostage in the first place?
"Are you thinking about something?"
Seeing that I didn't move much for half a day, Xavier pinched my earlobe.
"I'm thinking that Nora must know something, and that all this might have something to do with your fall off the cliff ten years ago as well."
Xavier's hands stopped moving when he heard about the cliff fall, and he looked at me quietly for a few seconds before coming up and wrapping his arms around me again.
"What's wrong?"
Xavier buried his head in the nook of my neck, I couldn't see his expression, Xavier hadn't let go yet? I patted him on the back to comfort him.
"I don't care."
"What?"
"As long as I have you, I don't care about anything."
My heart was a small distance away from Xavier, but I could feel our hearts beating on the same frequency.
"That's good, I'm just worried that Nora won't stop there, and if there's a problem with the moonstone, we might have to go see her soon."
"Then go see her, there's nothing we need to be afraid of."
Jasper's pov :
I was standing in the same room where Lsabella used to live, when I casually placed her in the far corner of the corridor in order to be angry with her.
The bouquet of flowers in the vase by the window has completely wilted, but I won't allow the maid to remove it.
You see, Lsabella had still accepted me, instead of taking Xavier away without a backward glance, as she had done that night.
I set the vase down with a shaking hand, admonishing myself to believe in what I had accomplished now, that I was still the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, that I hadn't lost the battle with Xavier at all.
This damn fake sex mate, I'm not going to follow Gary's example and wait until the woman I love is dead before I do it, I'm going to get Lsabella back now.
Yes, I loved her, and although I only found out that fateful truth that night, the moon goddess had told me a long time ago that it was never too late.
There was a knock on the door, and it was Declan.
"What can I do for you?"
"Sir," Declan looked a little hesitant, but what would I care now?
"Mr. Felix sent word that the moonstone you sent over might be a fake."
"How so?"
"They did an experiment and the moonstone shattered as a result."
I showed a very happy smile, while Declan lowered his head in panic.
"What's wrong Declan, isn't this our excuse to snatch back Luna? Why are you happy with me?"
