Chapter 24

Lsabella's pov.
Jasper ended up being the first to gather with the larger group, and they came together from the direction of the snowy mountains.
I won, and I waited with Xavier in the rest area as a merit badge for them to clear out the remnants of the rogues.
Jasper walked past me and he looked at me with a cold look in his eyes, "You actually won?"
"Yes," I stepped forward, "I won."
The Purple Moon Pack had elected new powers that be, and Martin was the surviving Beta, who took on the task of interim Alpha.
I didn't like this man, perhaps because the Beta next to me was Xavier, who could only have continued to fight after my death until he died fighting for me, instead of abandoning his people to live until now. This so-called preservation of strength, in my case, is disgraceful.
But Jasper, as our leader, liked the youth and decided to schedule the upcoming hunting day to be held at Purple Moon Pack.
Hunting day is an important festival on the East Continent, and this is the day when the major wolf packs try to gather together and they go into the forest together to hunt, and there will be some competitions. Afterwards, the prey will be piled up together and eaten together to commemorate the blessing of the Moon Goddess and to strengthen the unity among the packs.
This festival is usually held in each wolf pack's territory in turn, but due to the great difference in the size of each pack's territory, Blue Moon Pack, as the largest wolf pack on the East Continent, is the most common place to hold the festival.
And our Blood Moon Pack was also able to undertake the hosting of such a large festival ten years ago...
The Alpha of Illusion Moon Pack, Mr. Felix, and the Alpha of Silver Moon Pack, Mr. Eric, both gave Jasper enough face and they are on their way to come here.
There were other wolf packs that were also on their way over shortly afterwards.
Gathering such a large number of wolves' Alpha in Purple Moon Pack's territory can really serve as a deterrent to the rogues.
I heard that they had quite a few rogues making a last stand in the process of clearing out the rogues, I wonder what Gary had promised them? Did they think they could establish a new wolf pack in Purple Moon Pack territory?
I didn't tell anyone, and I still haven't fully recovered.
I communicated with Nut about this.
"Do you ever feel uncomfortable? How long do we have before we recover?"
The Nut in my head kept his usual calm: "Don't worry, I think I'll recover in another day or two."
Now that the battle was basically over, the only thing I was worried about was the hunting day.
"Hunting day is coming up soon, can I recover before that day?"
"You can actually tell Xavier or Jasper about this, they will not help you?Xavier even if, if Jasper also will not help you, I really do not know what is the use of this MATE to him."
"Probably to use his power to seek some convenience for us Blood Moon Pack."
Otherwise, I didn't know what exactly was my motivation for sticking with Blue Moon Pack, and if it wasn't for Jasper's threat in the first place, I would have dissolved my mate relationship with him right then and there.
As for Xavier, I looked up at him, and that's when he happened to look at me too. We didn't know what the other was thinking right now, but we were both able to give each other a smile.
I still didn't want to tell him that I didn't want him to risk his life for me anymore.
"How's your injury?"
"It's fine already." Xavier lifted up his shirt to show me his back injury.
My fingers gently brushed over the wound that was almost healed. If I hadn't taken that risk, he wouldn't have received these wounds...
Xavier suddenly retracted his back and I woke up with a start.
"I'm sorry, did I hurt you?"
"No," he inclined his head to look at me and smiled again, "It's a little itchy."
I breathed a sigh of relief, "That's good."
"Are you ready to transform your form?"
"Yes," I lied naturally, "You don't have to worry about me."
"Actually, I can help you with your part of the hunt..."
"No!" I immediately stopped Xavier's proposal: "You also just went through a bad battle, there is no need to burden two more people with the amount of hunting. I am able-bodied, I can finish the hunt by myself."
Xavier nodded in silence, and he acquiesced to my decision, as he had done before.
The hunting day was coming up soon.
All the major wolves on the East Continent converged here, and we set up a bonfire in the square of Purple Moon Pack.
Jasper officially announced the start of the hunting day from the high platform.
According to the flow of the ceremony, Alpha would be the first to enter the forest, followed by Beta, Gamma, and finally the warriors. Xavier and I were in two teams.
I said hello to Mr. Felix of Illusion Moon Pack, whom I thanked for helping me in the Alpha meeting before, and Mr. Justin and Mr. Amos, who are proud warriors of Illusion Moon Pack.
Fai Moon Pack's new Alpha was unexpectedly a gentleman with a gentle personality, and I thought we were going to have a feud with Fai Moon Pack over the previous incident.
Just then, Jasper walked up to me.
"I heard that you received a shot of inhibitor? Or else you should quit the hunting day."
He suddenly interjected such a sentence, although his voice was not loud, but I am afraid that all the Alpha in this area heard it.
Even if everyone wanted to save face for me, I noticed the rustling exchanges around me stop for a moment, and the sudden silence irritated me. I was also an Alpha, so why was I getting special treatment? How was such treatment not an insult in disguise to me.
"No need." I looked coldly at Jasper, who now looked everywhere in my eyes like he was mocking me. Obviously my previous judgment was correct, why did he not even dare to praise me a word?
"Please don't worry Jasper-san, I have long proven that I am a qualified Alpha, and I will finish this hunting day without any problems."
I don't know where the sudden outbreak of acrimony between us came from. If Jasper didn't provoke me, I would have stayed in peace for two months.
Jasper didn't expect me to answer him like that, and his expression quickly turned grim: "That's good, don't let us send soldiers to find you in any ravine."
Our daily training included hunting and fighting in human form, and even though I had temporarily lost the ability to transform my form, I believed in myself.
I should be the only Alpha running into the forest in human form, I drew my own dagger and went on alert.
Although Jasper and I had a small argument, I had no intention of trying to be a hero, and a quick battle was the safest thing for me.
Alpha's hunting quantity actually has an unwritten rule, I estimate that hunting an adult boar is enough, there is no need to show off the strength this year, this is also a special period.
The forest is located under the largest snow-capped mountain in the East Continent, I only ran for about ten minutes, the forest is too dense to penetrate the light, the occasional bird calls remind me that there will be other creatures here.
I was suddenly a little worried that there would be remnants of rogues here?
Luckily I had already found fresh tracks of a wild boar, and judging by the tracks it was an adult boar, enough for me to finish the job.
The opening went very well, and it seems I had a pretty good day.
I tried to keep my presence as low as possible and searched all the way down to the creek where I caught up with the boar.
It was a little stronger than I expected, and I put away my dagger and switched to my bow and arrow, so it looked like it was time to switch tactics.
I touched the opposite side of the boar, set up the bow, shot an arrow, "whoosh -" an arrow hardened poison arrow flew out, straight into the right eye of the boar. In the moment it howled in pain, I shot two more arrows. One arrow missed the left eye, stuck in its left ear, and the other was firmly planted in the boar's forehead.
Now the situation is not good nor bad, the boar was seriously injured, but also by my anger, it became frantic, howling and crashing around.
I hurriedly left my previous position, if I could transform my form now, I would have pounced on its back and ended its suffering.
I shot my bow again and shot the rest of my arrows around the boar in this manner.
The boar already knew it was on the verge of death, and it began to lunge in the direction of the arrow, a head that would have broken a tree.
I dodged out of the way just in time.
The boar was now stuck just between two trees, and it struggled without method.
Good opportunity!
I immediately rushed over from the side, stabbed it in the heart and twisted it hard.
The pain made the boar struggle violently, the knife came off, I dodged when I was directly thrown out.
The waist hit the stone, I almost could not stand up in pain.
The good thing is that the boar not far away howled sharply twice and finally fell down.
It was over. I took a breather and walked over to pull out my dagger.
"Look out!" Nut suddenly sounded the alarm for me.
I jerked back to see a wolf slowly stepping out of the shadows.
Its eyes fell on me as if it was looking at a prey.
