Chapter 29
Xavier's Pov:
I was already looking forward to my life after Lsabella and I returned to Blood Moon Pack. It seemed like everything would go back to normal and I would be the only one around Lsabella.
Even though Lsabella left early in the day to see Mr. Aaron off, I still couldn't help but feel the joy inside me.
"You really like her like this, you should tell her the truth as soon as possible, or else dump this Jasper, inevitably you will meet the next Jasper."
Geb reminded calmly in my heart.
I understood this, but I was just timid, I was afraid that Lsabella would turn away from me because of my spilling my heart.
"What if Lsabella hates this relationship? What if she turns away from me instead after knowing about it?"
"You're such a fool to fall in love, how can you satisfy your greed without taking a risk? You know very well that you are thinking about her."
Yes, I was thinking about her.
I fell into silence, unable to answer Geb's question, but at the same time I was running away from it.
I kept my head down and walked aimlessly, realizing with a start that there was no more road ahead.
It was a corner of a building where the road broke off, and I hadn't paid attention for a moment before barging in here.
Just as I was laughing at my wandering, I heard a few familiar words, someone talking at the window, and they mentioned Lsabella.
The steps I was about to take to leave stopped uncomfortably.
"So I'd say you shouldn't worry about that female Alpha, she's not a threat to you at all."
"Really? But after I came to see Jasper, he couldn't get away from her name in a few words, he wasn't like this before, how come he was away for just a few days and he got hooked on that woman?"
"But when you said you wanted to see the flowers, did Mr. Jasper pick you up right away? I heard Mr. Wyatt say that Mr. Jasper had invited that woman, but when he heard the news of your early arrival, didn't he still leave her behind and rush over?"
"...that's true. But I'm just afraid, didn't you hear them say, this woman is very flirtatious, she danced at the hunting day bonfire and seduced Jasper in front of so many men!
"Don't worry, this is just her tactics, otherwise she can become an Alpha?"
"That's right, she obviously has a man with her, why does she still want to covet mine? I have risked jumping into the lake, and Jasper is still able to forgive her!"
"..."
That's enough, I just want to eavesdrop on this.
I've wondered before about Lsabella's repeated punishments. Why doesn't the main character Olivia, who appears many times, learn a lesson and stay away from the "dangerous" Lsabella?
Why is she always there? Why is Lsabella always the one to be punished?
This is not a conspiracy between Jasper and her, right? In order to suppress Lsabella's momentum?
When I received Lsabella's psychic link that time, I thought something had happened and grabbed two maids and rushed in her direction.
When I arrived at the lake, I saw the scene where Olivia fell into the water of her own accord, and I didn't even have a hunch what would happen after that.
So this is how my Alpha got hurt? She was on her knees in front of her bed for three days just because of this woman's frame-up before?
This Miss Olivia seems so soft and tender and Lsabella takes care of her, but how could she be so vicious?
I was thinking of teaching her a lesson before, but this is my chance to do so.
The corners of my mouth pulled out a vicious smile, the tyrannical factor in my blood was already pulsing wildly, I tried to suppress it.
I tried to suppress it and leave the place by hiding my scent, even if I wanted to move it would have to be at night. I will teach her a lesson.
Some people are born to be good assassins, I always thought so.
Tonight Jasper and Lsabella are off to an informal meeting with the Alpha, supposedly to discuss the Moonstone, which is a good time for me.
I dive into the darkness masked, dodging the soldiers on patrol.
Jasper is really attached to this woman, or maybe she's just really weak, in any case there are three times as many guards by her house.
But these people couldn't stop me at all.
I caught a feral cat to attract their attention, and then took the opportunity to sneak into the room next to Olivia's without the lights on.
The start was so smooth that I honestly didn't deserve to work so hard for such a weakling, I could have put an arrow through her head on the way.
But Olivia is, after all, Jasper's beloved woman, I just need to scare her, her life I can not take away for the time being.
There were two maids in Olivia's room, and I put them down one by one.
By the time the tip of my knife was against Olivia's throat, she reacted to the danger she was in.
She stared in horror, her already pale face even whiter than the wall behind her.
I laughed at her in my mind, don't jump around if that's all you can do.
"Dare to move, I'll slit your throat."
I pressed against her ear and whispered to threaten.
Olivia was already stunned, and hearing my words she desperately shook her head up and down.
I tied her to the chair.
I walked over to the phonograph and played a random piece of lively music.
Now it was time to talk loudly, and I was in no hurry at all to drag a chair and sit across from her.
"Do you know who you've provoked?"
Olivia's voice was tinged with tears: "Lsabella?"
How can you be so smart all of a sudden now?
"Oh?" It dawned on me, "You recognized me already?"
Olivia nodded slightly, then suddenly shook her head violently: "No... no, I don't know who you are, please don't kill me!"
Her eyes were red with tears as she bitterly begged me.
She turned out to be a person who was afraid of death. People are good as long as they reveal their weaknesses, and fear of death is a fatal weakness.
I pulled out my dagger, in order to facilitate the infiltration, I did not bring my bone cutting knife, or she had the fear of the.
But it was my little dagger that scared her half to death, and her face turned white by another degree, almost fainting.
"Please! I won't dare again!"
But what had my Lsabella done wrong?
I stuffed a piece of cloth into her mouth, and in a moment of cold laughter as I tilted my head, I twirled out my dagger and the tip left a bloody line on Olivia's neck.
Not fatal at all, but intimidatingly effective.
I removed the cloth from her mouth and she shook terribly, but not a word howled out.
"Pretty smart," I said, running the tip of my knife along the bloody line on her neck again, provoking an even stronger shudder. "Tell me, what do you know?"
"I...I...wouldn't dare..."
"Don't dare to do what anymore?"
"Dare not...reckon...reckon Miss Lsabella..."
"Oh?" I had enough patience to torment her, "So you still have plans, huh?"
"Yes... it was Jasper's idea! I really don't dare to calculate Miss Lsabella anymore!"
"What?" I seemed to have gotten some great information: "Why is it related to Jasper? What does he want?"
I grabbed Olivia by the collar, desperate to know the answer.
This probably intensified her fear, and she breathed rapidly, like she was about to lose her breath.
"Damn it! Speak up!"
Just then, a voice appeared at the door.
Jasper was back.
"Damn it!"
Although the purpose of intimidation had been achieved, I hadn't gotten the most crucial information, and it would be harder to get to her next time.
The door was locked by me, and Jasper outside the door didn't anticipate the situation.
"Olivia, why are you locked? Come on, open the door!"
I put the tip of my knife to Olivia's neck: "If you tell anyone, I'll hunt you down for the rest of your life as long as Jasper doesn't kill me!"
Olivia nodded frantically on the verge of fainting.
I jumped out of the window.
The room rang with the sound of calls and breaking doors, but they were too late.
"There's an assassin!"
I landed on the ground with this howl, and they couldn't catch me.
Suddenly, a figure flashed out of the darkness and she swung at me.
I dodged it, while in a flash I saw who was coming.
It was Lsabella!
She didn't recognize me yet, but I couldn't do anything about it, so I threw a flying knife, she ducked, and then stopped.
Great.
My heart was beating wildly, why did she stop chasing?
If she recognizes me, what should I do?
My heart was aching vaguely, she wouldn't abandon me for that, would she?
Lsabella's pov.
Because of Mr. Aaron's early return to Fai Moon Pack, the other Alpha's and I ended the meeting early with insufficient information, and we planned to go to Fai Moon Pack afterwards to see the exact situation.
Jasper suggested that Olivia was eager to see me and wanted me to come to her room for a sit-down.
I sneered, "Don't, what if something happens to Miss Olivia again? How bad would it be for me to be there."
Jasper unexpectedly didn't hit me back.
We made our way to the fork in the road in silence.
"Are you sure you don't want to go for a cup of tea?"
"No." I refused crisply.
Jasper nodded, and then he literally left.
I stood at the intersection, feeling very puzzled. I'd almost forgotten what kind of an image Jasper had been when we first met, and he'd tried to kill me with sarcasm when I'd been silent.
What the hell was going on? Why did he change his attitude towards me so drastically?
Was it when Jasper rescued me from the cave? What had happened then?
I shook my head a few times, not wanting to think about these things at all.
"There's an assassin!"
A shout pierced the quiet night sky, I looked in the direction of the source of the voice, wasn't that the building that received the visitors?
I subconsciously ran in that direction.
In the darkness, an equally dark figure scurried past me.
It should be my instinct, before my brain can react, my fist has already swung out.
But this person's body is very good, he dodged agilely.
I raised my leg is a kick, the dark shadow did not hesitate, he flung a dagger in the moment of dodging.
But I froze, I did not even dodge the dagger, it landed steadily on the ground two meters to my side.
He hesitated, I can be sure, the assassin hesitated at the sight of my face.
I inclined my head to look at the badly deflected dagger and had a horrible feeling in my heart.
Was it...Xavier?
