Chapter 15 Jerry Dank To The Rescue

Audrey Turnah's heart skipped several beats when she figured how who the person was.

Jerry Dank?

Did he live in the same neighborhood as Elizabeth Coker?

Jerry Dank restrained the drunk man, took off the belt from the man's waist and bound his hands and feet.

It was Elizabeth that called the police for help when she had the chance to escape. After calling the police, she also called Jerry Dank and narrated her ordeal in a crying voice.

While Audrey Turnah was staring at Jerry Dank as if he just stepped out of a horror movie, she scolded herself for laughing at Elizabeth a while ago.

She had asked Elizabeth why she always acted like a mouse who had just seen a rat anytime Elizabeth saw her, but that was the same behavior she had towards Jerry Dank. Anytime she saw him, she became frightened.

Just like now.

As Audrey looked at Jerry Dank, her body shuddered. Especially in this supposedly aggressive and wild position he was in. He was kicking that drunk man menacingly.

''The driver is still waiting for me outside. I have to leave now, since I am fine,'' Audrey Turnah said and was about to make a run, but Jerry Dank stopped her.

''You can't leave yet. You have to wait for the police to arrive,'' Jerry Dank said.

Jerry Dank's dark eyes swept across Audrey's hand dripping with blood.

''Are you injured?'' He asked her.

Audrey tucked her hand behind her and shook her head.

''It's just a little injury. It's fine,'' Audrey replied.

But Jerry Dank was not going to have that for an answer, so he walked towards her, grabbed her wrist gently, and took her hand out.

The touch of Jerry Dank directly on her skin made Audrey's warm body turn instantly cold. She stood in front of him, her body frozen like preserved meat.

''Really, it's alright,'' Audrey insisted.

''Open your hand,'' Jerry Dank ordered her, ignoring her insistence to be left alone.

Audrey reluctantly and cowardly opened her fist.

Her originally fair palm was stained with blood. There was a cut on her palm, but it was not all that deep. Though it let out a lot of blood from between her fingers.

Elizabeth could not bare to look at the sight of all that blood dripping, so she looked away.

''Miss, why are you injured?'' The driver that brought Elizabeth and Audrey to this place suddenly asked from behind. He had waited for Audrey to come back, but after a long time, she had not come back, so he came out to check the situation.

When he saw Audrey's hand, he was greatly shocked.

She had just left him a couple of minutes ago, when did she have the time to sustain this sort of grave injury?

''Miss, I'll take you to the hospital right away,'' the driver said. He was panicking.

Audrey shook her head defiantly.

''It's nothing serious. We should just wrap it up. Cover it up with a plaster,'' Audrey suggested.

''I'm sorry miss. I should have been around to protect you, instead I neglected my job,'' the driver said and apologized to Audrey.

Audrey shook her head.

''It's not your fault at all. Don't feel bad,'' she replied.

It was her fault that a drunk lunatic had caught up with her.

''I have some fast tablets at home for pain. You could come over and treat yourself for the time being,'' Elizabeth whispered to Audrey.

Just as Audrey Turnah was about to turn down Elizabeth's invitation, the driver quickly agreed to it.

''That would be fine Miss. Thank you for suggesting that. Go there quickly, so that you can get first aid and stop the bleeding quickly,'' the driver said.

Audrey Turnah had no choice but to follow Elizabeth to her house. But she didn't expect to hear Elizabeth invite Jerry Dank in with them.

''Jerry, you can come in with us as well,'' Elizabeth said.

Audrey Turnah thought that Jerry Dank would refuse, but he didn't. He nodded and followed the girls behind.

''The police would be here soon. Please watch over this man,'' Jerry Dank said to the driver with a deep voice.

''Don't worry. I will watch him. I will not allow him run away,'' the driver replied and nodded.

Audrey Turnah was dazed.

Elizabeth's house was not too big, but it was clean and had the best scent.

They found the first aid box quickly, and took out the medicine. Jerry Dank took the medicine from Elizabeth and grabbed bandages and alcohol, ready to treat Audrey's wound.

Watching Jerry Dank get the first aid items ready for her treatment, Audrey was afraid.

''Let Elizabeth help me...'' Audrey was saying when Jerry Dank interrupted her.

''She can't. Remember, she fainted and also needs some attention,'' Jerry Dank said lightly.

Audrey wanted to cry, yet tears did not flow from her eyes. Was this the reason Elizabeth asked Jerry Dank to follow them into the house?

When the cold disinfectant alcohol was applied to her wound, Audrey howled in pain, and her face was twisted to show how painful he treatment was.

''It will soon be over, just bear it for a little bit,'' Jerry Dank said to her as he dabbed her wound clean.

His tone was a bit indifferent, but his action was gentle.

Audrey didn't dare to respond to him. She kept herself still like a wooden man, afraid to move an inch.

Eventually, Jerry Dank finished cleaning the wound, and Audrey felt better. She was about to get up.

''There is still an injury on your forehead,'' Jerry Dank said to Audrey as she tried to get up.

Audrey frowned and touched her forehead, and she felt a lump the size of a bird's egg on her forehead. It hurt. She imagined that it would be red and from the way it hurt, it had to be bleeding, even though, for some reason, she could not feel the pain and the bleeding until now.

Reluctantly, she sat down again because she had no choice.
