Chapter 99 A Threat And Warning

''Have you already booked a ticket?'' Leopold Demp asked Audrey as she rolled her luggage out of the house.

She had not even ordered for an airport taxi to take her to the airport.

''No, I'll do so in the airport. I'll pay over the counter,'' Audrey Turnah replied impatiently.

Leopold Demp was confused.

''Audrey, wait. I just got back. At least, let me hurry home and take my car, so that I will drop you off,'' he suggested.

Leopold Demp had hurried to the Audrey Turnah's house directly from the airport, and still had his hand luggage with him.

Audrey turned to look at him.

She could see the worry on his face, it was evidently there by all means.

''Okay fine, I'll wait. You have one hour, if not, I'll leave. I'm going to book the ticket online while I wait for you,'' Audrey eventually said.

Leopold Demp heaved a sigh of relief.

''Fine, then. I'll be back in a jiffy,'' he said to Audrey and hurried away.

Audrey opened the door of her apartment and sat in the living room with the door ajar, waiting for Leopold Demp to return from his house with his car when she dozed off for a bit.

After a while, she felt a presence, and a shadow hover above her as if there was someone standing in front of her.

Opening her eyes slowly, she saw Jerry Dank, standing domineeringly over her.

Audrey jolted up in panic.

''What are you doing here? For crying out loud, Jerry Dank!'' Audrey Turnah said desperately.

''Audrey, what went wrong? You used to really like me before, and your dad asked me to take care of you, so why do you suddenly hate me so much?'' Jerry Dank asked.

He was supposed to be in a beggarly state, but could Jerry Dank do without being overly domineering and decisive?

Definitely not.

Audrey sat up instinctively.

Was he here to force her to return to liking him?

She tried to recall the part of her dream where she ended up with Jerry Dank out of force, and she could not.

As for the other parts of the dream, she knew that she had done everything that she could to make sure nothing tragic happened to her and her family, and so far, she had done a good job.

But, why won't Jerry Dank leave her alone?

She didn't like him anymore, she just wanted to be free.

Jerry Dank refused to leave her alone.

Remembering that Leopold Demp would be back soon to take her to the airport, Audrey became scared again.

''Please you need to leave. You need to leave now, please,'' Audrey Turnah said to Jerry with a quiet tone.

''I know. I'll leave after you tell me why you now hate me as much as you do,'' Jerry Dank replied.

''I don't hate you, Jerry Dank. I don't. You already rejected me before, so I got over you. Why are you all over me now?'' Audrey asked warily.

To Audrey's dismay, while she was scolding Jerry Dank, Leopold Demp came back.

He had already spotted Jerry Dank's car from afar, so as soon as he stepped out, he was already upset and expecting to give Jerry Dank a piece of his fist.

''Leopold don't do it!'' Audrey Turnah said when she saw Leopold Demp's countenance from afar.

Jerry Dank became alert as well because, of course, he knew Leopold Demp perfectly by now. The dude was a menace when it had to do with protecting Audrey Turnah in which ever way.

Audrey thought of going to stand in between Leopold Demp and Jerry Dank, but on second thought, she was certain that it was not a good idea. What if they couldn't keep their hands to themselves and ended up hitting her in the process of trying to fight themselves.

''What the hell do you want? Mr. Jerry Dank? At this moment, you are over-stepping your limits. You are getting out of hand,'' Leopold Demp warned, heeding Audrey Turnah's plea for him not to get violent.

''Me and Audrey we are going back to the airport. She is leaving the city for you, so step out of the house so that she can lock up,'' Leopold Demp said to Jerry Dank.

''And what of my treatment? Who is going to complete it? I already started it, I already paid for it, so it has to be completed,'' Jerry Dank replied.

Audrey Turnah rolled her eyes.

''Dr. Greg is sending another expert to continue from where I stopped,'' Audrey said to Jerry Dank in reply.

Jerry Dank shook his head slowly.

''I can't allow so many hands handle me like that. First it was Dr. Greg, then you, and now it's about to be another person. I cannot handle it,'' Jerry Dank protested.

''What?'' Leopold Demp protested.

''I saw this coming,'' Audrey said and sat down warily.

Then she eyed Leopold Demp.

If he had allowed her to leave when she wanted to, she would have been long gun before Jerry Dank showed up, now look at what she had to face.

Is this not what she had been running away from? From Jerry Dank victimizing and holding her down like this.

This was what he was capable of, and he was just starting.

''If you don't get out of the way now?!'' Leopold Demp dared to say to Jerry Dank.

Jerry Dank turned to look at him as if he was irrelevant.

''You! Obviously, you are no longer interested in keeping my shares at your company. If I take out my shares, I hope you know that you will be forced to sell the company. So watch what you say,'' Jerry Dank warned Leopold Demp.

Leopold Demp froze.

Nothing prepared him for this.

Everything that Jerry Dank said was true, but Leopold's mind had never imagined Jerry Dank sounding like this. This was a first, this was such a threat, and a warning.
