Chapter 98 To Hell With Everyone

''I can't. I cannot take it anymore. His constant hounding and trailing me is getting beyond me. I just want to leave Bullen right away. I want to go back to Mullen...'' Audrey Turnah said with a disheartened countenance.

''Tell me what Jerry Dank did? Or, you know what? They have just announced my flight. I will be in Bullen in two hours. Wait for me. Even if you have to lock yourself up in your house and wait for me, just do it. I'm coming there...'' Leopold Demp told Audrey Turnah with a cold voice.

When they hung up, Leopold entered the aircraft. If he could directly control the pilot and tell him to take off immediately, he would do it.

He could only imagine what he would do to Jerry Dank when he got to Bullen.

The sane Jerry Dank that rejected and humiliated Audrey Turnah. What did he want from her this time.

"Bloody creep!" Leopold Demp muttered.

When he muttered this, the old lady that sat beside him took offense, thinking that Leopold Demp was referring to her.

"You dare call me a creep? Don't you have a grandmother, you little scoundrel..." the old lady said to Leopold Demp with intense anger as she shook her fist in front of his face.

Leopold Demp just stared at the old lady, not knowing what to do or say be as she was already very upset.

Would she even hear him tell her that he was not referring to her?

Instead, he turned to look away, shutting her out by putting a headphone over his head. The only thing that mattered to Leopold Demp at this point was how he would get to Bullen and meet Jerry Dank's face with his fist.

The flight was the longest Leopold Demp had ever been on, but he got to Bullen eventually, and hurried to Audrey Turnah's apartment.

''Leopold!'' Audrey said in subtle shock when she opened the door to someone knocking and saw Leopold Demp standing there.

''Is everything okay?'' Leopold Demp asked her, peering into the house over Audrey's shoulder as if he was looking to see Jerry Dank there.

''Yes. What are you looking out for? I'm the only one here,'' Audrey Turnah told him, letting out a short and low sound of laughter. But, there was really nothing to laugh about, she had had it with Jerry Dank, she had also had it with Bullen.

''I thought coming back to Bullen would do me any good, but, it's just about to start giving me nightmares as I used to have before. I can't deal. I can't stay here anymore. Big mistake! I was going to get myself entangled with Jerry Dank again! Never!'' Audrey Turnah said as she turned to let Leopold Demp in.

''You are packing up to leave?'' Leopold Demp asked warily.

Audrey Turnah nodded.

''That's true, before I forget. What happened to you? Why where you in a fight, and why did you walk all the way to the end of the city while Mildred was trying to stop you?'' Audrey finally asked Leopold Demp again.

''I saw Peter at the charity,'' Leopold Demp said to Audrey abruptly.

Audrey paused.

Peter? The same Peter that had dumped her as soon as he started dating her?

''Which Peter are you talking about? My dad?'' She asked Leopold, hoping to hear that it was her dad, rather than the other Peter.

''What? Your dad? I'll never call your dad by his name. What's your stress?'' Leopold Demp said to Audrey, expressing shock.

''Besides, how could I have gotten in a fight with your dad? Are you out of your mind?'' Leopold Demp added.

Audrey Turnah didn't say anything, instead she stared at Leopold Demp as if she was waiting for him to tell her what she wanted to hear.

''Your Peter. Your colleague that asked you out and disappeared on you. I saw him at the charity event, and when I went to ask about why he chose to do what he did to you, he wouldn't answer me. I tried to force him, and then before I knew it, I was attacked by others from nowhere. Peter didn't even have to move a muscle, and before I knew it I was on the ground, fighting for my life...'' Leopold Demp explained.

Audrey looked at her friend turned brother, in shock.

Peter had people attack him? How? It didn't make sense. Since when did Peter have that type of backup and behavior. It seemed like something that only Jerry Dank was capable of.

''How is that even possible?'' Audrey Turnah asked.

Peter could not hurt a fly, so how was it possible that he could attack Leopold Demp.

''You know what?'' Audrey Turnah said and continued to arranger her clothes into her travelling bag.

''I will go back to Mullen, and if anyone continues to bother me, I will leave, to another city entirely. Another life, another planet if need be. I am done with everyone and everything,'' Audrey Turnah ranted.

Indeed, she was tired of hiding from her own shadow, from running helter-skelter, trying to seek protection for herself and for others, when no one was protecting her.

As much as Jerry Dank had supposedly done, and as far away as she would love to stay from him, he still went ahead to harass Hilary the way he did just because the boy expressed himself to her.

Could she not live her life the way she wanted? Why did everyone want a piece of her without considering her own feelings? Why?

''Where are you going to go to if you leave Mullen?'' Leopold Demp asked Audrey.

He was very upset at the moment because of this.

Because of Jerry Dank he was going to lose Audrey. If she travelled all the way to another country, how often would he get to see her?

''I don't know, and I don't care. I am leaving!'' Audrey Turnah said, grabbed her luggage, and started to head out.
