Chapter 7 Acquire His Company

Audrey's father had already promised not to take any action against the Dank family, and she believed that he would definitely fulfill his promise.
''Audrey, you don't have to pretend to be a good person in front of Elizabeth,'' Jerry replied with a cold voice.
''What? What the hell are you doing?'' Leopold angrily asked Jerry Dank.
''Is there any part of you that would have the guts to repeat what you just said? Believe me, when I say that I will beat you to death,'' Leopold added, and grabbed Jerry Dank by the collar.
''Leopold,'' Audrey muttered. There was a sudden flash of lightning in the sky that revealed her pale face.
''Let him go,'' she said with a trembling voice.
''Audrey, this bastard just threatened you. As if he didn't see me here. The effrontery,'' Leopold replied.
''I said, let him go,'' Audrey repeated, and this time, she raised her voice.
Leopold was not convinced, and really didn't want to let go of Jerry, but Audrey had ordered him to, so he had to accept it.
He let Jerry go, but he gave him a stern look.
''I don't know what the Turnah family has done to you for you to give such a threat,'' Audrey said softly.
''I have already withdrawn from this school, and I am now on my way out. You will never see me again, but, I want to assure you that since I promised not to embarrass you, I won't, and neither would my dad,'' she added.
''You had better do as you have said,'' Jerry replied sternly.
''Give me your hand,'' he added.
Audrey was confused, but she stretched her hand towards Jerry, and he put the umbrella back in her hands and turned to leave.
He didn't look back.
Audrey watched Jerry's back until it disappeared.
Fear creeped into Audrey's heart.
Why did Jerry sound like that? And what was he saying? What did the Turnah family do to the Dank family?
She lost the urge to continue to play in the rain, and dragged Leopold away.
Leopold was furious.
''I don't understand you, Audrey. Why are you afraid of him? What can he do to you?'' He asked.
Audrey heaved in a deep sigh.
''If I told you that if we hurt Jerry Dank, we might end up miserable in the future, would you believe it?'' She asked Leopold.
''No. Of course, not,'' Leopold replied boldly.
Audrey pursed her lips.
She wanted to say something, but she hesitated.
If Leopold didn't want to believe what she said, it was entirely up to him, but, she would not allow what happened in her dream to happen in the future, and Leopold had no reason to witness that sort of tragedy.
After she sent Leopold home, she went straight to her father's company to look for him.
She had to figure out and understand what happened today between her and Jerry. What was Jerry talking about?
What is going on? Didn't you say that you wanted to discuss business with the Dank family?'' Peter Turnah asked Charles Turnah with a sullen voice.
Charles was at his father's company, discussing the latest development between them and the Dank family.
''They are going too far, dad,'' Charles replied with a feisty tone.
Charles' face darkened, showing that he was suppressing a heavy feeling of anger.
''Henry Dank's attitude today was unacceptable. It was obvious that he wanted to step all over us,'' he added.
Charles had visited the Dank family company with some of his junior colleagues from his father's company, to discuss business with them, but instead of Henry Dank to pay attention to him, he sent the vice president of the company to talk to Charles, claiming that he was away on a business trip.
Marcus Coker, the vice president of the Dank family company, kept Charles and his associates waiting in the reception room for more than two hours, and then he nonchalantly came back to announce that their company would not be doing business with the Turnah family.
''We can do business with anyone, but not the Turnah family,'' Marcus said with a bad attitude.
Also, as if that was not enough, he immediately booked an appointment with another company, right in front of Charles.
It was not news that the very company that Marcus hurriedly called to do business with were enemies of the Turnah company. It was obvious that Marcus's actions were done intentionally to provoke Charles Turnah.
The employees from the Turnah company that escorted Charles to make the business deal with the Dank family, became furious. They angrily asked Marcus why he did what he just did, but Marcus refused to explain, instead he asked security to throw them out.
As a result of this, both sides clashed and struggled, which resulted in Marcus sustaining a head injury.
Fortunately, it was not life threatening.
Audrey had been listening to Charles and her father, Peter, converse, and she couldn't deny that she was confused concerning what was happening.
She didn't imagine that there would be any fracas between the Turnah and Dank family at this time.
Marcus' surname was Coker. That meant that he was related to Elizabeth, right? Audrey wondered. Maybe he was Elizabeth's father. Otherwise, Jerry would not have accompanied her to the hospital in the rain.
''And I am not going to shift the blame on Marcus, because he was acting on Henry Dank's orders. Henry deliberately made the business deal with our rival company, knowing that it would pain us to the bone,'' Charles said angrily.
Peter Turnah had not said anything, and Charles looked at him carefully.
''Dad, I know you hardly have any qualms, and you won't bother to fight Henry Dank because of this nonsense he has done, but then, you have to acquire his company,'' Charles said.
If the business venture that Henry Dank wanted to do with the rival company of the Turnah family ever saw the light of day, it would be a great threat to the Turnah family, and the best way to get rid of that threat was to acquire Henry Dank's company.
