Chapter 33 Mrs Dank Dies
Elizabeth Coker stood beside him, sobbing lowly. Even Henry Dank, who was still admitted in the hospital, came to visit his wife. He was sitting in a wheelchair with a very ugly face.
As soon as Peter Turnah arrived, the hospital director greeted him with sincerity.
"Mr. Turnah, we are doing our best to save the patient, but the situation is not looking good at all,'' the doctor informed Peter Turnah.
"What did I tell you that other day?" Peter Turnah asked the doctor with a calm tone, even though he still sounded worried.
The doctor wiped cold sweat from his forehead.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Turnah, I neglected this matter..." he replied warily.
"How can you be so careless with human life? You turned a deaf ear to what I instructed you, and ignored the safety of the patient. I think those two nurses that were careless with the information, together with you, ought to be fired,'' Mr Turnah said sternly.
The doctor's face turned pale.
If he was fired from the Turnah family hospital, his career in this life would be over. Which hospital would dare to hire him?
He begged desperately.
"Mr. Turnah, I have been working in this hospital for 20 years, please give me another chance..." the doctor pleaded.
"If I give you a chance, who will give the patient a chance?" Mr. Turnah asked the doctor back.
Peter Turnah was really angry.
"Alloy, contact the hospital's personnel department, immediately fire him, start the hiring process, and re-appoint a new director!" Mr Turnah ordered.
Alloy hurriedly bowed.
The doctor wanted to beg again, when Henry Dank suddenly interrupted.
"Enough, stop pretending!" He shouted.
There were burn scars left on his face, and he looked a little terrifying because of his emotional excitement.
"Peter Turnah, it is because I handed the video to the media that you deliberately retaliated and disclosed the news of my car accident injury to the media. But why my wife? If you want to take revenge, take revenge on me, bullying a patient, what kind of character is that?'' Henry Dank asked angrily.
"Mr. Dank, how can you say that? Mr. Turnah has been telling the hospital to take good care of your wife. He just received the news and rushed over immediately after he put down the matter at hand," Alloy said to Mr. Dank.
Alloy couldn't help defending Peter Turnah.
"What does the nurse's unintentional remarks have to do with Mr. Turnah? How can you slander him so openly?" Alloy added.
Henry Dank sneered.
"This is the Turnah family's hospital. It's up to you to decide what the nurses do," he said with a cold voice.
With a cold face, Peter Turnah turned to Alloy.
''Hold on for now concerning dismissing the doctor. Go to the police station first, and find out what the issue is, then deal with the dismissal later,'' he said to Alloy.
The dean was completely stunned, wanting to cry without tears.
Henry Dank wanted to say something else when the door of the emergency room suddenly opened.
"Doctor, how is my wife?" Henry Dank's voice changed as he asked.
The doctor shook his head.
"I'm sorry, but we tried our best," he started to say.
People who have had their hearts replaced have very fragile hearts and cannot be stimulated at all.
The blow suffered by Jerry's mother was undoubtedly fatal. The doctor had tried his best to revive her, but she was unable to recover.
Henry Dank's face turned pale, and there was no blood circulating in him at all.
He and his wife had been together for nearly 20 years, and their feelings for each other were so deep that he could accept her death at all.
His lips were trembling, as if he wanted to say something, but it seemed to be blocked in one breath, his eyes rolled up, and his body fell backward sharply.
"Dad!" Jerry Dank screamed, his voice hoarse.
The doctor hurriedly pinched Henry Dank, and he finally woke up.
He looked at Jerry Dank blankly, with tears streaming down his eyes.
''Jerry, I really regret letting your mother have a heart transplant..." Henry Dank said.
''If she didn't do surgery, she won't lose her life,'' he added.
Even if she had a heart failure, and was bedridden all the year round, at least she was still alive and there with them.
Jerry Dank's thin lips pursed into a line.
"I'll accompany you in to see mother," he said to his father after a while.
Soon, Henry Dank's extremely suppressed crying came from the ward.
Peter Turnah felt a little uncomfortable.
At the beginning, it was because of Audrey Turnah, that he proposed to treat Mrs. Dank, but to a large extent it was because of his appreciation of Henry Dank that he did his best for Mrs. Dank's affairs later.
Who would have thought that a good intention would end up in such a situation.
Audrey Turnah felt worse than ever. Even if she was severely struck by lightening, she couldn't describe how she felt at the moment.
Fate's anger towards the Turnah family was even crueler than what she saw in her dream.
Although the Dank family was not bankrupt, Marcus Coker died and Henry Dank was seriously injured.
As if this was not enough, and Jerry Dank's mother was also added to the list of unfortunate events.
Even if the police's investigation in the future could restore her brother's innocence, how could the death of Jerry Dank's mother be counted out?
When Jerry Dank finally wheeled Henry Dank out, Henry Danks' eyes were red and bloodshot, and even Jerry Dank's eyes were reddish.
"Henry," Peter Turnah said after all.
"My condolences. I will definitely give you an explanation about Mrs. Dank's affairs," he said.
"Peter Turnah, do you think finding a scapegoat can cover up your sins?" Henry Dank asked.
Henry Dank stared at Peter Turnah with deep hatred and resentment.
"I will definitely seek justice for my wife. Even if the police can't do anything to you, it is clear that you will be punished sooner or later!" he added.
Peter Turnah was also obviously angry.
"I can't believe that you misunderstand me so deeply! If that's the case, then I, Mr. Turnah, have nothing to say!" Peter Turnah said calmly but worriedly.
