P2: Bonus Ch. 5

***A second chance.***

"Hey, Vlad. Do you think.." Todd waltz into Vlads' room without knocking.

"Excuse me?" Vlad raised an eyebrow at him. "That is not my name."

"What?" Todd chuckled a little. "I'm pretty sure it is."

"My name is grandpa. So jot that down." Vlad scowled at him then turned back around to his desk.

"You're ridiculous." Todd snorted while making himself comfortable in the chair next to Vlads' desk. "So, as I was saying. Do you think you're going to the mate ball tomorrow..?"

"I don't know, sweet cheeks." Vlad shrugged with a sigh.

"Oh, that's not a thing anymore.." Todd responded with a stern look.

"You had the cutest and chubbiest little cheeks when you were little." Vlad grinned while pinching Todds' cheek.

"But.. now I'm grown." Todd swatted his hand away.

Vlad just rolled his eyes while leaning back in his seat. "Why are you asking about the mate ball? I thought you were done with those since your senior year?"

"I'm 25 Vl-grandpa.." Todd started to explain. "I'm over what my first mate did.. I need to find someone.."

"And you're asking me to go with you?" Vlad finally understood.

Todd nodded his head while staring down at his lap. "I just know you're single and haven't found your second chance so I just figured we could go together."

Vlad frowned while glancing over at his sketch book, that he knew had hundreds of different portraits of Dorothys face drawn in them. "Right. I'll go with you."

Todd let out a huge sigh. "Thank you! Vin and them don't go to those things anymore, which I don't blame them at all with what had happened to Lennon.. And last year when KJ went with me for support, Isabella cried for hours and just made KJ feel horrible."

"She didn't even know why she was upset." Vlad chuckled while shaking his head.

"She's something else that's for sure." Todd agreed.

"But anywho, I'll pick you up at 10, sweetcheeks." Vlad teased. Todd let out a groan before getting up and started leaving the room. "Love you, kiddo!"

"Love you too." Todd mumbled under his breath.

Vlad was straightening his jacket by the door, waiting for Todd when Dorothy approached him.

"Where are you going?" Dorothy raised a curious brow at him.

Vlad side glanced her nervously before looking at himself in the small mirrored coat hanger. "The mate ball." Vlad mumbled while running a hand through his hair.

"Excuse me?" Dorothy scowled at him. "You have no reason to be going to such an event."

"Dorothy.." Vlad sighed while looking over at her.

"*Vladimir.*" Dorothy mocked him.

"I'm not arguing with you on this." Vlad grunted while turning away.

"Oh, yes." Dorothy snorted. "Why on earth would you even waste a second of your time with your mate."

"Dor-" Vlad growled but was quickly interrupted.

"Ready, old man!?" Todd grinned while running down the stairs. "Oh, Dorothy! Are you coming with us?"

"No." Vlad scowled.

"Absolutely!" Dorothy quickly answered while grabbing her coat.

Vlad gritted his teeth and turned on his feet while walking out the door.

Todd pursed his lips while glaring at Vlads' retreating back. "What was that?"

Dorothy just shrugged while smiling. "Who knows with that man."

Todd chuckled while nodding his head in argeement. "Come on, lets get going."

Vlad grumpily drove the three of them towards the ball which was luckily being held at a neighboring pack so it was a fairly short drive. But seemed like a year when Dorothy was sitting up front with him, happily chatting away about anything and everything even without responses from Vlad.

"Finally.." Vlad mumbled under his breath while pulling up in the driveway.

Todd eagerly jumped out of the truck and headed inside without waiting for them.

"Am I that horrible?" Dorothy sneered while glaring at the side of Vlads' head.

"You're insufferable." Vlad glared back.

"Get over it." Dorothy snorted while climbing out of the truck and finally following after Todd.

The second the door shut, Vlad dropped his head against the steering wheel with a growl. "AHHHHH!" Vlad screamed then slammed his hand on the dashboard. "Fuck!" Vlad growled while getting out of the truck and heading inside.

*"It's almost midnight!"*

*"I really hope I find my mate tonight!"*

*"I can feel it. Tonight is the night!"*

*"If you don't find them, there is always next time! Don't get discouraged!"*

Vlad nearly groaned at all the conversations he was hearing as he passed by them. A huge grin spread across his face when he found the small bar and ordered himself the strongest drink they have. "Double it, please."

"I don't think so." Dorothy spoke up from behind him causing Vlad to groan.

"Leave me alone, woman!" Vlad growled while twirling around to stare at her.

"We need to talk." Dorothy spoke confidently while staring up at Vlad.

"Dorothy, I don't want to talk about this.." Vlad sighed. "Us.."

Dorothy stared at the floor before sadly glancing up at Vlad and sliding a hand up his chest. "Why don't you want me..?"

Vlad immediately softened, his tough layers peeling away like ice melting on the hottest day of summer. "Oh, sugar.." Vlad gently cupped Dorothys cheek with one hand while the other wrapped around her waist, pulling her impossibly close. "Our entire situation is.. just complicated.."

"It doesn't have to be.." Dorothy peered up at him through her lashed. "You're the one making this difficult. Tatum isn't bothered by us being second chance mates.."

Vlad let out a heavy sigh before resting his forehead against Dorothys. "Dorothy.."

"A chance.. just a chance.." Dorothy begged while a few tears escaped her eyes.

"Okay.." Vlad exhaled slowly. "Be patient with me."

Dorothy grinned while wrapping her arms around Vlad in a soft hug. "Thank you."

Vlad mirrored her grin, leaning forward and placing a soft kiss on her cheek. "You're insufferable, sugar."

Todds' eyes roamed around the room, hoping to meet his second chance. To say he was completely shocked to see Vlad and Dorothy being so intimate with each other was the understatement of the year but he wasn't worried about that now.

Currently Todds eyes were tracking a short, pixie hair cut girl walk around the ballroom. Her bright pink hair stood out against her chocolate colored skin and it had him hypnotized.

The pixie haired girl suddenly stopped, her head immediately snapping towards Todd. When their eyes connected, Lanceston let out a deep, rumbling howl, begging for Todd to go claim their mate. *Calm down, Lance.* Todd spoke calmly to his beast while he stared at his newly found mate.

*I need her..* Lanceston cried.

Todd didn't answer but instead felt his feet weld to the ground when he saw her walking towards them.

*Grab her! Take her!* Lanceston chanted over and over again while marching around in their mind.

Todd snorted to himself while staring down at the pink haired beauty who was now standing directly in front of him. Her blinding smile nearly knocked the air out his lungs.

"Hi." She grinned up at him.

"Mate." Todd growled out softly but quickly shook his head. "I mean, hi.."

A soft giggle left her lips before another grin appeared on her face. "My name is Lake."

"Lake?" Todd raised an eyebrow with a soft grin.

"My mother is obsessed with bodies of water. "My older brother is River." Lake, Todds' second chance mate, explained.

"Well my name is Todd." Todd smiled while taking a soft step towards her. "You're fucking beautiful."

Lakes' dark cheeks flushed a bright red while she tried to clear her throat. "Thank you. You're not to bad yourself.."

"So.." Todd cleared his throat. "I'm a lycan hybrid.. got a little bit of witch in me.."

Lake chuckled while stepping closer to Todd. "I'm a fairy.. pure-breed, baby."

Todd let out a loud laugh, throwing his head back. Todd grinned down at Lake while reaching foreward and taking a hold of her hand. "Would you like to talk somewhere more private?" Todd gestured towards all the noise around them.

"I would love that." Lake blushed again while intertwining their fingers together.

Todd leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on the back of her hand. "I can't believe I actually found you."

Lake blushed once more before letting Todd pull her away.
