Chapter Twenty-two

After getting back from the hospital. Kane set Trixie down on the bed and started to remove her clothes.

"W-what a-are y-you d-do-doing!" Trixie stuttered out. "S-s-stop it!" Trixie started pushing his hands away from her. "D-don't t-t-touch m-me!"

"Baby, stop! I'm trying to help take these off. You're hurt! Let me take care of you!" Kane begged. "You can barely lift your arms because of your back and you have whip lashes all over your body. Please baby, let me help." Kane stressed while holding her face in his hands.

"I'm sorry.." Trixie couldn't control the blush that swept across her cheeks.

"It's okay.. lets get you in the shower, okay baby?" Kane helped her stand, only to see her wince and limp on her foot. "What? Sit back down, let me take a look!"

"No, it's fine. It's probably just a scratch." Trixie didn't even know she cut her foot. She tried to resist but Kane wasn't having it. He gently pushed her back on the bed while lifting her foot so he could have a look. "I'm fine!"

Kane just scoffed. "No you're not. You fell, hurt your back really badly. You have whip lashes and little cuts all over your body. Your foot has a really long cut. Thank Goddess it isn't too deep, you would have needed stitches." Kane says with a shake of his head. "How could you be so careless to just run off like that? You could have been severely hurt or worse, dead. If Demy wouldn't have caught you, you would have walked straight into No Mans Land and those creatures would have skinned you alive, ate your flesh and then proceeded to eat you from there, while you're still alive." Kane was becoming irritated with her.

"CARELESS?!?" Trixie screamed. "I *SAW* another woman in *YOUR* office, flirting with *YOU!* How the fuck would you have reacted if you saw the same thing with me but a man?!?" Her face was red and angry. "You didn't even seem to mind her company! Why don't you go back to her and just forget about me! So much for the mate bond. I knew everything you told me was a lie! How about you just leave! Get out! I don't need your help." Trixie got off the bed and started pushing Kane towards the door.

"No, baby! Please! I didn't lie to you! " On the verge of tears, Kane got down on his knees and went to wrap his arms around her waist but Trixie avoided it. She stepped around to open the door and was greeted with a worried Theodore about to knock on the door.

"Trixie!" Theodore wrapped his arms around her shoulders and gave a tight squeeze. "You have no idea the hell we all went through without you! Kane and Goliath were going mental! I'm so glad you're back with us, safe!"

Trixie could only wince from the pain. "Stop! You're hurting her!" This time it was Goliaths voice. He snatched Trixie from Theodores embrace and started checking over her wounds. Trixie didn't object, she knew all he needed was reassurance. Even if she was pissed off at them and wanted them to leave.

"I'm sorry, it slipped my mind." Theodore said while scratching the back of his neck, nervously. "I was there when we found you but I didn't get to talk to you or anything, well no one did. Since I'm the only one brave enough, they sent me to ask if you would like to join us for dinner back at the castle?" Theodore blushed. "We were all worried and terrified but we are all just glad you're okay."

"It's okay, Theo." Trixie gave him a small smile but turned and frowned at Goliath because he was currently forcing her to lay down while he cleaned her foot. "And brave enough for what? What are they all scared of?" Trixie questioned.

Goliath gave a side glance at Theodore but hurriedly went back to cleaning Trixies foot. *She already wants us to leave because she thinks we are cheaters and now she'll be scared of us once she hears how we acted when she was gone.* Kane whimpered in their head. *We can show her, remember?* Goliath replied with an eye roll. *I'm supposed to be the crazy, irrational one and here I am being calm and collective.* Goliath chuckled to himself and shook his head at his crazy human.

"Oh, well.. um some stuff happened while you were gone but its uh.. no big deal." Theodore chuckled nervously, not making eye contact with Trixie.

"Theodore.." Trixie said in a warning tone.

"We went completely mad. We thought we lost you because of some whore and Maxs lies. I'll show you our office and you can see the damage yourself. We may or may not have tried to kill some people who didn't give us the answers we wanted to hear but Theodore was there to keep us from doing so. Yes that woman was clearly flirting with Kane but Kane wasn't even noticing her, he was trying to figure out who she was and why she was even at the interview that we made clear that we only wanted a male assistant. I'm sorry you saw that, I'm sorry you thought we betrayed you. If you would have just stayed for a few more seconds, you would have seen that we would never cheat on you. You're the center of our universe. We are nothing without you." Goliath managed to rush out in one go.

Trixie just stared at him with her eyes slightly wide. Goliath could see the mixed emotions swimming in her eyes. Shock, worry, sadness, guilt and love but never fear. Which in return made Goliath and Kane relax. *She's doesn't fear us.* Kane didn't even realize he was holding his breath.

Trixie looked over at Theodore who was also just staring wide eyed at Goliath. "I didn't expect you to tell her, brother. Maybe keep it a secret or something." Theodore chuckled while patting their shoulder.

"There are no secrets between our mate and us. Whatever she wants to know, we will tell her. Whatever happens, we will tell her. We are equals." Goliath spoke with honesty, not breaking eye contact with Trixie.

"I believe you.." Trixie stared back. "But I'm going to stay upset and stay mad at you because I'm not over it." Trixie huffed, got off the bed and slowly walked to the bathroom, making sure not to put too much pressure on her foot.

Goliath just grinned in return. "Do you need help in the shower, my love? I'm sure I could.. *persuade* you to not be upset anymore." Goliath smirked.

"Pervert!" Trixie screamed, earning Goliath a bathroom door being slammed shut. In return, he just chuckled.

"Soooooo is that a yes or no for dinner...?" Theodore just stood there awkwardly.

"Yes. We will be there." Goliath replied with a small smile.

After a minute or so, Goliath stands up and walks to the bathroom door. "Sugar, I have to go."

"WHAT!" Trixie screams while swinging open the bathroom door. "You're already leaving me?" She says frantically. "What if Max had other people working with him??" Trixie didn't even realize she was only wearing her underwear when she opened the door.

Goliath just stared at her, drinking in all of her curves. *Remember when we first found our mate? Skin and bone. But now look at her, she keeps putting on weight and she's filling out perfectly.* Goliath growled with approval to Kane.

The second Trixie opened the door, Theodore ran out, slamming the front door closed. He wasn't going to stick around. He didn't want to see his future little sister like that.

"You look delicious, my love." Goliath spoke with his deep, husky voice. Taking slow steps towards her. Trixie just gulped and allowed Goliath to back her up against the bathroom sink. Placing his hands on her hips, making himself flush against her body, lowering his head to her neck, inhaling her scent. "We're not leaving. I am just going to give Kane back control. We used too much energy while you were away and we need rest. Someone will come for us when dinner is almost ready. You take your shower and then come back to bed, okay?" Goliath kept the husky voice while whispering in her ear. "We are taking a nap and... I want you in nothing but one of our shirts, got it?" Goliath smirked when he felt her shiver. Trixe just nodded her head, not really having any words.

"Good girl." Goliath kissed the top of her head and took in one more inhale. *Her arousal is a thousand times fucking sweeter.* Kane hummed with satisfaction. *Yes and it's taking a lot of me to not mark her and take her right now. So shut up.* Goliath growled back.

Goliath took one more look at his mate and placed a soft yet passionate kiss to her lips. "I love you, baby girl." Trixie whined when Goliath pulled away. He just chuckled and shot a wink her way, turning around to the bed.

"I love you too." Trixie whispered back, not at all trying to hide the huge grin on her face.

After laying down and giving Kane back control, the duo just laid there and let the hums of their mate in the shower lull them to sleep.
