Chapter Forty-two

"So, have you and William done the dirty, yet?" Jake teased, wiggling his eyebrows.

"You're asking if I mated with *MY* mate? Why?" Reese scoffed. "Mind your business." Reese sneered.

Jake just narrowed his eyes. "You're going to have to get over whatever the fuck is bothing you. William and I are just friends. Kane and Theo are my brothers. I'm not going anywhere so grow the fuck up already." Jake snapped.

Reese was about to say something back but Trixies loud scream had both men on their feet and sprinting towards her room. Jake busted the door open to find Trixies unconscious body being picked up bridal style.

Jake didn't hesitate for a second before charging into the room. His one goal was to get to Trixie but before he could reach her, two other men interfered. That was when he realized the room was full of rogues. Just as Jake threw the two men off, the man holding Trixie stepped forward.

The man just stared at Jake before looking over at Reese. "You left your home for *them?*" The man glared at Reese.

Reese, who was frozen in his spot, finally spoke. "It was never my home. William is my home.." Reese looked at Trixie. "Don't do this."

"Xander!"

"Fuck! I thought I could avoid her." The man that was holding Trixie, cursed. He headed for the double doors to the balcony, ready to leave.

"Xander.." Becca stood in the doorway, shocked. Not because he was actually here but because she didn't feel their mate bond.

"Cats out of the bag, I guess." Xander laughed. "Grab him." He motioned towards Reese. Xander smirked, his bright blue wings sprouted from behind him and before anyone could react, he was gone.

Before Jake could stop the men from knocking out Reese and dragging him towards the door, he felt a sharp burning pain in his chest. Jake looked down, only to see a knife bedded deep in his chest. He stumbled backwards, confusion written all over his face.

The random man just smirked. "Good luck with that one, soul sucker."

Jake could only watch them take Trixie and Reese. He fell to the ground, slowly reaching for the knife but before he could grab it, Becca stopped him.

"Don't. Don't remove it." Becca reached for his hand to stop him. "I'm so sorry.." She whispered with tears.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" Theodore screamed at Kane. "Why would you tell Gabriel that! Oooohaha mom is going to beat your ass!" Theodore sneered. "At least you finally unified the two kingdoms. You know, I could feel it? It was a weird surge of power.."

"Whatever." Kane just scoffed. "It's time for people to know. Word will spread and then those who want to go against me will think twice before doing so." Kane nodded to himself. "And I hope so, you're my brother, you're supposed to feel it."

"Sometimes, I can't deal with you." Theodore scoffed.

"It's a good thing, you can't live without him." William chuckled.

Kane just smirked. "I need to tell Trixie about the letter." The other two just nodded, understanding.

When the guys opened the door to their wing, they immediately smelled blood and took off towards it, leading them towards Kane and Trixies room. They were completely shocked. All three of them ran towards Jake.

"WHERE IS SHE?" Kane screamed, grabbing Jake by the collar. Goliath was fighting for control.

"Kane stop!" Theodore screamed. "He's hurt!" William took this moment and ran out of the room.

Kane looked down at the knife and his eyes widened. "It.. it's an angelic blade.. but it has demonic symbols on them.."

The two of them were shocked. "How would someone know to do that..?" Theodore whispered.

Jake just laughed bitterly. "So.. I'm.. dying..?"

*Tatum, baby, where are you?!?* Theodore mindlinked his mate, worried.

*I'm downstairs in the gym, what's wrong??* Tatum could hear the panic in his voice.

*I just needed to hear your voice.* Theodore sighed with relief, he explained what was going on and even linked their warriors to start searching for Trixie.

*I'll let Gabriel and Terrance know.* Tatum answered back.

"No, no.. I won't let you die." Kane placed a hand on Jakes chest. "Where is she? What happened?"

"He took her.." Kanes head snapped towards the small woman curled up against the wall. "He took her."

"WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?" Kane demanded, making Becca flinch.

A panicked William came running back in the room at that moment.

"Xander took her.. he was the one who attacked the Red Wood pack. He wants her for.. breeding.." Becca was interrupted by all three men letting out a loud growl.

"Where is he?" Kane stood tall, looking down at the small woman.

"I don't know.. he moved.. I thought we were mates but I guess he used magic or something.. I don't know where he is.." Becca explained with tears rolling down her face.

*I can't feel her.. I can't talk to her..* Goliath let out a loud whimper. Kane closed his eyes, taking deep breaths. Trying to calm his beast and himself.

"Did.. did they take Reese too?" William choked out. Becca only nodded her head, giving him a look full of guilt.

"I already have our warriors searching for her. Around Red Woods old territory and here as well." Theodore reassured Kane.

"It was a fucking distraction.." Kane whispered.

"Xander found me after the attack on Red Wood.. I guess he only needed me to get to her.. I can't believe I listened to him, I was so stupid.. I was suppose to get close to Trixie.. become her friend.. then I was going to suggest we go on a picnic or something in the forest.. that's when they would show up, inject her with some weird liquid that will keep her from being able to communicate with anyone and it'll silence her phoenix as well and then they would take us back with them.. I'm so sorry.." Becca cried out.

Kane didn't even glance at her. He walked over to Jake. "This is going to hurt a lot.." Kane grabbed a hold of the knife and ripped it out of Jakes chest in one swift movement. Jake let an ear piercing scream out.

Kane placed both hands over the wound and leaned his head down towards Jakes and rested his forehead on his. Kane started chanting in some unknown language. This kept up for about 10 minutes before Jake finally passed out. "He's okay.. he just needs rest."

Kane pulled away, making Theodore gasp. "Your eyes! They're solid white!"

Kane just frowned. *Goliath?*

*It's okay. Our full potential you mentioned? I think we just started the process of unlocking that part of us..* Goliath was confused as well.

*Why now? 10 thousand years but now it starts?* Kane shook his head.

*We should talk to mom.* Goliath suggested.

*First, we find our mate.*

"LET ME GO!" Trixie screamed at the top of her lungs, throwing everything she could at the guard.

"Calm the fuck down, you psychotic bitch!" The guard was trying to chain her to the bed while dodging her attacks.

"Do you not understand how fucked you are?" Trixie sneered while sending a punch to the side of the mans head.

"God dammit!" The man wrapped his hands around Trixies neck, pinning her up against the wall. Trixie gasped and started kicking the man.

Before he could do anything else, he was ripped away from her and thrown across the room. "What the fuck do you think you are doing?!" Xander roared. "You're going to learn your fucking place!" Xander stalked towards the man.

"I'm sorry, alpha.. She was being difficult! She kept throwing shit and then she hit me and my wolf snapped. It won't happen again!" The man coward away.

Xander just glared down at the man. "Get the fuck out." The man wasted no time in running out of the room.

"Who the fuck are you?" Trixie growled out.

Xander just rolled his eyes. He reached for the chains and chained them to the bed. "I'm not going to sugar coat any of this. So sorry if I hurt your feelings." Xander sat down on the chair across from the bed. "My name is Xander and I'm the last lightning phoenix and you my little dove, are the last female phoenix in existance." Xander went to continue but Trixie beat him to it.

"Let me guess, you think that means I'm rightfully yours? Well guess what, *little dove,* I'm already marked..by my mate." Trixie gave a fake shocked expression.

"I can bite over his mark and claim you as mine." Xander smirked. "That's actually a good idea, that way the abomination growing inside you will die in the process."

Trixie placed her hands over her stomach and took a few steps back. "Why are you doing this?"

"You're mine, little dove. I found your father all those years ago but his phoenix died, I assume from his mate dying but either way, I tried to keep tabs on you but I guess that worthless alpha threw you away. You will bear my kids. It's our responsibility to repopulate our species. I suggest you get used to the thought." Xander hissed out.

"My father? His phoenix didn't die. He's very much alive." Trixie raised an eyebrow. "It's a shame, the last three phoenixs' left in existance and you choose death. Don't think I'll just let you have your way with me. I'm not that weak little girl anymore." Trixie said with a hardened look.

"I should let you know that I brought Reese back with us.. Williams mate, right? It would be a real shame if something were to happen to him all because you didn't obey me.."
