Part Two: Ch. 10

"Vincent, if you interrupt me one more time, I swear I'm shipping you off to live with your grandparents." Kane warned.

"She'll smother me to death! I'm sorry!" Vincent shook his head. "I'll stop."

A small smirk played at Kanes' lips. "As I said before, your grandmother Mania created Hell and when she did, she created the first families. The first demons ever. There were twenty families and so she created a Knight for each family, to protect them." Kane paused, knowing Vincent couldn't keep quiet.

"Why would they need protecting if Hell is safe for our kind and their mates?" Vincent asked before his brain could stop his mouth.

Kane gave him a stern look, making him blush. "Back then was completely different, baby. Our kind didn't get along with any other creature out there and with our species just starting out.. she wanted the extra security. Fast forward back to when Anubis was being hunted.. they went against my word, my word is law where we come from, Vin." Kane explained.

"I know." Vincent gave a light smile. "But what did he do exactly?"

"I'm sure any story or rumor you have heard is most likely the truth. He was a good man honestly. He helped judge and guide souls in their afterlife. He helped keep evil out of Egypt." Kane began. "There are plenty of rumors as to why but no one knows the truth on what exactly happened. He just went mad and attacked the humans he was supposed to protect." Kane shrugged while letting out a heavy sigh.

"So innocents lost their lives.. that's why you hate him." Vincent stated.

"I don't hate him, Vin. He is actually an old friend. Goliath and I had a connection with him that we haven't had with anyone else. We both can read and judge souls. I was just pissed that he ran. Instead of telling me what happened and facing his punishment, he ran." Kane shrugged again. "That's why I reacted the way I did."

"We should talk to him about it.." Vincent suggested. "I mean.."

Kane just shook his head. "It was a very long time ago, baby. There's no need to bother with it anymore. I just wanted you to have all the information I have. The Knights and most of the first families went against me and so I reacted the way any king would. Jake is the only one left of his kind and there are only four original families left."

"And where are they?" Vincent asked.

"Hell. They were the only families who were 100% loyal to me. But they never leave our world." Kane shrugged. "They're ancient. Too scared of this world." Kane chuckled.

"I still have so many questions.." Vincent stated.

"Save them for another day. It's late, you need to get some rest for school." Kane smiled while making his way over to him. He leaned forward and placed a warm kiss to Vincents' forehead. "Goodnight. I love you, baby."

"I love you too, Dad." Vincent smiled up at him, watching him leave.

*Now we have to sleep without our Lenny.* Axe grumbled.

*Go to bed, cry baby.* Vincent snickered back.

*I'll fuck you up, Vincent!* Axe roared. *You were just as upset as I was when he had to leave!*

Vincent winced, pressing his hands to his ears, as if that would help. *For fucks' sake, Axe. You don't have to scream like a wild banshee. I'm literally right fucking here.* Vincent growled.

*I'm sorry..* Axe murmured. *I just miss him.*

*Just think of his gorgeous face to help you sleep.* Vincent suggested.

*Oh, yes.. those full lips.. especially when he's pouting..* Axe purred.

*Stop it!* Vincent growled, shaking his head, trying to remove the images Axe was sending him.

Axe just snickered while retreating back. Vincent let out a heavy sigh, getting up to change into some sleeping wear. Vincent tossed his pants to the side, heading to his bathroom but stopped when he heard a small 'thunk' when his jeans hit the floor.

Vincent made his way over to them and reached inside the pocket, pulling out a small clear rock thing.

*Axe?* Vincent reached out to him.

*What do you want?* Axe growled. *You said go to..* He stopped, realizing Vincent was holding something. *It's a crystal?*

*What kind?* Vincent asked.

*Wait is that mates?* Axe asked excitedly.

*I think so?* Vincent frowned. *I guess we will have to ask him tomorrow.*

Vincent didn't waste any time at breakfast. He quickly took off towards school but not before stopping in front of Lennons' house. Vincent waited for Lennon to step outside and when he did, the biggest grin grew on his face.

Lennon wasn't paying much attention when he walked outside. When he looked up from walking down the steps, a smile spread across his face. "What are you doing here?" He questioned, walking up to Vincents' passengers' side window.

"Picking up my guy. What else?" Vincent teased.

"Friend.. remember?" Lennon stated with a frown but he couldn't hide the blush.

"Right, right! Friend, of course." Vincent smiled. "Get in?"

"School is literally right there.. I can walk.." Lennon looked up at Vincent and immediately opened the door and climbed in when he saw Vincents' smile fall a bit. "You're so annoying."

"I know, gorgeous." Vincent grinned while making his way to the school.

"Are you going to bother me all day again?" Lennon asked while stepping down from Vincents' truck.

"Do you not want me too?" Vincent questioned while slowly slipping his hand into Lennons. "If you want me to leave you alone, all you have to do is say so."

"Don't be silly." Lennon blushed, squeezing Vincents' hand.

"Good. I'll never leave you alone." Vincent huffed, lifting his nose and giving a slight nod, agreeing with himself.

Lennon wanted to respond but they were interrupted.

"Vincent! Lennon!" Jason called after them.

Vincent immediately pulled Lennon behind him and let out a snarl. Lennon latched onto the back of Vincents' shirt, peeking around his shoulder.

"Easy.." Jason stopped a safe distance away, putting his hands up, showing he means no harm. "I'm not here to start any problems."

"What do you want?" Vincent growled out.

"I just wanted to apologize." Jason had a sincere look on his face.

"Shove it up your ass. I don't give a single fuck." Vincent snarled. "Come near him again and I'll kill you."

Jason looked like he wanted to argue but stopped himself when Vincent quickly ushered Lennon towards the entrance.

Vincent and Lennon made their way towards their lockers in silence until Lennon spoke.

"Do you think he was serious..?" Lennon whispered but Vincent heard him.

"Does it fucking matter?" Vincent growled. Lennon took a step back, shock written all over his face. "Wait.. I'm sorry.." Vincent reached for Lennon but he quickly pulled away.

"Baby, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to snap like that. I just don't want shit to do with Jason.. I don't want him anywhere near you.." Vincent reached for Lennon again and wrapped his arms around him, squeezing tight. "I'm sorry, Lennon." Vincent buried his face in Lennons' neck.

"I was just curious.." Lennon murmured. "I'm sor.."

"No. Don't apologize." Vincent pulled back and cupped his cheeks. "You have no reason to apologize."

Lennon nodded his head. "Okay.."

Vincent stared into Lennons' eyes, still cupping his cheeks. "I am so sorry." Lennon just nodded. Vincent pulled Lennon into a hug, holding him close.

Vincent looked up and noticed all of the nosey eyes and ears. He let out a low warning growl, making them lower their heads in submission.

Lennon pulled away slightly. "We should get going."

Vincent nodded his head. "Lets go."

After getting to their class, Vincent settled in his seat behind Lennon.

*If you ever speak to our mate like that again, I'll break both of our fucking legs.* Axe spoke calmly. *Do you understand?*

A small but proud smile graced Vincents' face. *Aye, Aye captian.*

Axe just grumbled angrily while retreating back.

"Mr. Vincent. Are paying attention?" The teacher asked.

"Yeah." Vincent mumbled.

"Then please start us off. I just mentioned what page." Said teacher sneered.

Vincent stared down at his book, watching as the letters started to move around and become jumbled. Axe started to growl while Vincent grew frustrated. Just when he was about to lose his patience, a voice spoke up.

KJ started reading from the book, only pausing when the teacher stopped him.

"Did I ask you KJ?" The teacher growled.

"You were warned." KJ growled back and continued reading. Vincent saw the teacher pale but didn't bother to argue.

Vincent felt so much relief and then all of a sudden felt a ton of guilt for how he has been acting towards his friends. Vincent turned his head back to look forward but Lennon caught his stare. Lennon looked at him with so many questions.

Vincent gave him a sweet smile. "Later, I promise."
