Part Two: Ch. 8
Vincent laid there staring at the wall while Lennon snuggled more into his chest. His mind was running wild with thoughts and they only made his blood boil hotter.
Vincent slowly got up from the bed, making sure not to wake Lennon and made his way towards the living room.
When Vincent walked into the room, he was greeted by his parents and Lennons' parents.
A nasty snarl left Vincents' lips while he stalked towards Set. Vincent was on the verge of shifting.
Kane immediately stepped in between them. *Vincent, you need to calm down. You can't shift in front of them.* Kane commanded through their mindlink.
Vincent only stopped walking when he was standing directly in front of his dad. "Who hurt him? Was it you?" Vincent snarled at Set.
"I would never harm my own child!" Set growled back.
"Then who the fuck abused my mate?!" Vincent lunged for him but Kane was quick to stop him.
*Vinny, you need to calm down.* Kane begged through their link. *Please, Vin.*
Vincent let his father hold him back but kept snarling at Set.
Sets' entire face fell while his shoulders slouched. Lily quickly reached Sets' side with tears filling her eyes. "It's not what you think!" She pleaded.
"Then fucking explain!" Vincent roared.
Lily nodded her head vigorously while leading Set to the couch. Everyone else followed while Kane kept a tight hold on Vincent. Trixie reached across the coffee table and gave Lilys hand a reassuring squeeze.
"I said explain!" Vincent growled.
Set raised his head to look at Vincent. "Lennon used to be the happiest kid I've ever seen. He would get in trouble one minute and the next second he would run right back to you with the biggest grin." Set started off. "When he was twelve years old, it changed. He changed. He became closed off and wouldn't play around or even smile anymore, he wouldn't even take care of himself.."
"It was like a light switch. One day he was happy-go-lucky and the next, he wasn't our Lenny anymore.." Lily explained with tears. "At first, we thought he was getting sick but that was quickly dismissed."
"It didn't take long to figure out what had happened.. it was maybe four days into this new behaviour and he just wouldn't eat or even shower." Set explained. "We were all in the bathroom and I was getting the bath ready for him but he was just standing there, he wasn't getting undressed or whatever." Set sighed. "I'll admit, it was pissing me off a bit. So I took his shirt off and that's when he started crying but he didn't say anything.."
Lily took a deep breath. "When he lifted his shirt up, I noticed the bruises on his lower abdomen and so did Set.." Lily couldn't hold back the tears any longer.
"I didn't hesitate for a second before taking his pants off.. when I did that, he was hysterical. He kept repeating that he had been a good boy and just kept begging me to stop.." Set had his head lowered and was rubbing his hands through his hair. "Do you have any idea what that does to a father? Hearing his baby say shit like that?"
Lily wrapped her arms around Set, trying to comfort him. "We immediately took him to a hospital where they did a full check-up on him. He wasn't raped but.." Lily shook her head, tears flowing down her cheeks. Set pulled her into his chest, trying to soothe her.
"He had bruises, scratches, cuts all over his lower abdomen and groin.." Set gritted out. "For two years, I couldn't even touch my son.. He was terrified of every man he came across. Of course we found him a therapist.. It took two years for her to help him, to realize that not every man out there is going to harm him." Set explained. "With the love from us and the help of his therapist.. He managed to move past it."
"We started to see our old Lenny again." Lily whispered.
"And what about the man who did this?" Vincent gritted through clenched teeth. Vincent was on the verge of losing control and he didn't want to even imagine the damage Axe would cause.
"It was my brother.." Lily croaked out.
"He's dried up pig shit somewhere." Set snarled. "He thought he could escape me." Set huffed a low chuckle. "I found him and dragged into the wild, rubbed peanut butter all over his body and watched the wild boars eat him alive."
Kane raised an eyebrow at him. "A human goes missing and no one dares questions the father of the child that man hurt?"
"Oh, they definitely questioned me but had zero evidence of shit." Set shrugged. "They think he's still out there somewhere."
Lily finally pulled herself away from Set. "We decided living in the human world wasn't safe for Lennon. So we moved to a pack on the east coast. Everything was going good.."
"Until that worthless alpha thought he could take what was mine." Set growled softly. "Lennon was at school and I had just left for work when I felt Lily panicking. I blinked home to find that son of a bitch trying to force himself on her.." Sets' face slowly went back to being cold. "He's dead and now we are here."
"I remember Gabriel and Azrael mentioning something about your family a few months back." Kane nodded his head.
Everyone just sat there in silence until the timer in the kitchen went off. Trixie jumped slightly and quickly wiped the tears that had managed to fall. "Oh! That's the pasta. Lily would you like to help?" Trixie smiled sweetly.
"I'd love to." Lily smiled back and followed Trixie into the kitchen but not before placing a soft kiss to Sets' temple.
Kane followed the girls movements to the kitchen and when they disappeared behind the door, he wasted no time in lunging at Set and pinning him against the wall.
"You have got some fucking nerve stepping a foot into my house." Kane snarled in the mans' face.
"Dad, what are you doing?!" Vincent jumped up but knew better than to try and stop him.
"I smelled you the second your son walked through my front door." Kane growled. "You're lucky he's mated to my son or otherwise I would have slaughtered you the second you walked through my door."
"Dad! What the hell is going on??" Vincent shouted while putting a hesitant hand on his shoulder.
Kane roughly released Set, letting him fall to the floor.
"I appreciate the 'mercy' you've shown me." Set scoffed, making Kane roll his eyes.
"Vincent, do you know who this is?" Kane asked nonchalantly.
"Um?" Vincent frowned. "Dad? Just tell me what's going on?"
"I have to admit. I didn't expect you to show up here." Kane directed towards Set. "And using your fathers name as well." Kane chuckled. "Get up. I can't have my mate getting mad at me for whatever this is." Kane growled and gestured between the two of them.
Set stood up and sat himself down on the couch, rubbing his throat. "I didn't know you were here until I met your son. The pack we came from isn't a part of the kingdom so I had no idea you had taken up residence here." Set explained. "And living in the human world, I can't really go around saying my true name."
"Please for the love of God, someone tell what the hell is going on!" Vincent stressed.
"Son, this is the Egyptian deity, Anubis." Kane laughed. "He disappeared over three thousand years ago."
"Because you sent your Knights after me for shit you've done a thousand times over." Set growled.
"I didn't send anyone after you. I didn't even look for you. I didn't give a shit how many souls you took, I only cared about the innocent ones that got caught in the crossfire." Kane explained. "I just wanted you to receive punishment for the innocents, they deserved justice."
"I wasn't the only one causing destruction during that period." Set scoffed. "Explain why I was hunted by your Knights."
"They went against my word. Over half of the first families questioned my crown because I wasn't going to hunt you. So I killed them and of course I had to kill the Knights as well." Kane shrugged.
"Wait, just wait a damn minute! Anubis? The God of death? Afterlife? Tombs? All of that jazz?" Vincent questioned. "And you killed the Knights of Hell? The men created to protect the first families that nana created?"
"Yes." Both Kane and Set answered simultaneously.
"Well besides your uncle Jake, he's the last Knight. I could never harm my best friend, my brother, even after he ran away." Kane answered truthfully. "Vincent, men in our positions can't stand for when subjects of our kingdom question us. It makes us look weak and undeserving of our title. You know that, baby."
Vincent nodded his head in understanding. "So if you're *the* Anubis.. what does that make Lennon?"
"The son of Anubis."
