Chapter Fifty

"Baby, please come back to bed. It's three o'clock in the morning!" Kane groaned while following behind Trixie.

"I'm not tired. I want some snacks. Let's watch a movie. We can cuddle. I want to watch that movie with the fish." Trixie chirped.

"Movie with the fish? Do you have any idea how many movies that is?" Kane rubbed his hands over his face in frustration. "Why are you even awake right now? You're never awake at this time."

"I don't know. I'm just not tired. I can't sleep." Trixie said while making herself comfortable on the couch. "It's the one where that shark acts like a dolphin."

"What? What are you talking about?" Kane let out a frustrated sigh.

*Shark Tale. She's talking about Shark Tale.* Goliath replied with his own tired voice.

*Of course you would know that.* Kane teased.

*I pay attention.* Goliath growled back.

"Are you arguing with Goliath again?" Trixie interrupted before Kane could snap back at him.

"He said it's Shark Tale. That's the movie you're thinking of." Kane mumbled while turning the TV on to search for her movie. "I'll go get some snacks."

"Can we have ice cream instead?" Trixie begged, using her best puppy dog look.

"No." Kane gave her a stern look.

"Why not? Because I'm fat?" Trixie sent him a glare.

"Ooooooh mylanta, you're so crazy.. Baby, I never said that. Theodore AND Dr. Lee said no more sweets until after the baby is here." Kane leaned over, placing his head on her chest, wrapping his arms around her waist. "You're not fat, princess. I swear."

*She's sexy.* Goliath cooed. *Pregnancy looks so damn good on her. She better get ready because I'm not going to stop filling her up until we have an entire football team.*

All Kane could do was laugh. *Good luck telling her that.*

Kane looked up to see Trixie glaring down at him. "What, baby?" He cooed.

"You keep zoning out. What do you and Goliath keep talking about?" Trixie huffed. "Pay attention to me!"

"He said he was going to keep putting babies in you until... well forever." Kane chuckled while placing soft kisses along her neck.

"That's not happening! We aren't having another baby for a very, very long time!" Trixie stated with a firm nod of her head.

*We'll see about that.* Goliath chuckled.

"Whatever you want, baby." Kane cooed in her ear.

After successfully convincing Trixie to eat some healthy snacks, they got settled down to watch their movie. Half way through the movie, Kane could tell Trixie was becoming uncomfortable.

"We are going back to bed. Come on." Kane turned the TV off and set their plates on the coffee table, reaching to help Trixie up.

"I think I just need to pee. I'm okay." Trixie tried to reason.

"I don't care, let's get back to bed." Kane gave her a 'no nonsense' look.

Trixie didn't argue, she let Kane lead her back to their bedroom. Right before they got to their bedroom door, Trixie let out a painful scream while doubling over in pain. If Kane wasn't right there, she would have fallen to the floor.

"THEO!!" Kane yelled for his brother.

Theodore and Tatum both came running out their room, sleep still evident in their eyes.

"What! What's happened?" Theodore asked in his groggy voice.

"You didn't hear her scream!?" Kane shouted with anger.

"I was down the hall and asleep! Don't get on my fucking case right now!" Theodore growled back.

"Guys!" Tatum yelled, pointing towards Trixie.

"Sissy, what happened?" Theodore asked, the anger caused by Kane slipping away.

"I just had a very sharp pain shoot across my lower stomach.." Trixie sighed, finally being able to stand up. "Also.. I think I peed myself."

Theodore didn't think for a second before his hand dived between Trixies legs, making her screech and Kane let a deadly growl echo off the walls. When Theodore pulled his hand back, it was covered in blood. "We need to get to the hospital wing now!" Theodore commanded.

Kane gently picked Trixie up in his arms and took off towards the wing.

*I need you to meet us at the hospital!* Kane mindlinked William and Jake.

*Is the baby coming??*

*Is it baby time??*

Both men asked excitedly at the same time.

*Just meet us there.* Kane commanded and cut the link off.

It didn't take long for Kane and Trixie to get there and all the nurses on duty to start panicking. Theodore managed to get everything set up and ready to go before Dr. Lee even walked through the doors.

"Sissy, we are going to do an ultrasound and see how our little chipmunk is doing okay?" Theodore gave her a reassuring smile.

Trixie only nodded her head, gently squeezing Kanes hand. When Theodore got the baby on screen, Dr. Lee gasped.

"What!" Trixie and Kane said simultaneously.

"The umbilical cord is wrapped under his arm and around his neck.." Theodore calmly spoke.

"WHAT!" Trixie cried out. Kane wrapped his arms around Trixie, trying to calm her but that wasn't working well since he was freaking out as well.

"Trixie, calm down, okay?" Theodore went to continue but Trixie interrupted him.

"How can I calm down! You just said our babys' umbilical cord wrapped around his neck!!" Trixie screamed at him.

"Listen dammit!" Theodore paused, letting the babies heart beat echo throughout the room. "His heartbeat is perfectly fine, Trixie. You're in labor but because of the umbilical cord, it's kept him from being able to get into position. If the heartbeat is perfect then Vincent is perfect."

"So what do we do then?" Kane asked, his eyes pleading with his brother.

"I'm not going to lie, the blood had me panicking as well but now that I see why, it'll be okay. We'll have a C-section." Theodore explained.

"A cee-saw-reen?" Trixie tried to sound it out.

"Yeah, that's not how you say it but yes, a caesarean section." Theodore chuckled. He placed two little suction monitors on each side of Trixies stomach. "This is to monitor his heartbeat while we get everything ready. A nurse will come in and prep you for the surgery."

Trixie thought Kane was going to be terrible at the hospital but she was very wrong. Kane calmly sat next to her, rubbing her back, her feet and was doing anything else she needed. Jake, William and her father were a whole other story. They watched every move the nurses and Dr. Lee made. Terrance was hovering over anyone who got too close to Trixie. To her relief, Tatum and Reese sat on the couch next to the bed on Kanes side and kept conversation with him while he tried to be an expert masseuse.

"You all are driving me crazy! Get out!" Trixie finally yelled at the three men.

"We just care!" Jake and William whined.

"I'm not leaving! I'm your father!" Terrance stated.

Trixie growled in frustration and looked up at Kane and begged with her eyes. Kane snapped his head towards Jake and William with a glare.

"Get out!" He growled out.

"No! We promise to sit and not move a muscle!" Jake spoke up. "We will stop, I swear! Please don't make us miss this!"

William and Jake both sat on the couch across the room. Not saying a single word more. Kane turned to Trixie an raised and eyebrow in question.

"It's a good thing we have a giant room." Trixie sighed in defeat.

A few minutes of complete silence passed in the room before Theodore made his entrance wearing some baby blue scrubs. "Who's ready to deliver a baby!" He chirped excitedly.

After making sure Trixie couldn't feel a single thing, Dr. Lee and Theodore helped each other put on their gloves. Theodore made Kane put some on, confusing him but he didn't object.

Theodore checked the ultrasound monitor once more. "Are you ready?" He asked, looking up Trixie. With a small nod from Trixie, he began. "Okay, you might feel some pressure but that's normal."

Kane was whispering sweet, encouraging words into Trixies ear, placing gentle kisses on her head and cheek.

"Kane, will you come here?" Theodore glanced up to see the confusion on his face. "Come here."

Trixie looked up at him with wide eyes. Kane reluctantly left her side and walked around, only to see the tiniest little feet poking out of her tummy.

"Put one hand here, the other over here and pull gently." Theodore instructed. Kane did as he said with the widest eyes. "Now keep that hand there and pull up here.. aaaaaaand.. there he is."

As if on cue, the loudest but tiniest little cry echoed in everyones ears. Kane slowly lifted his arms, revealing a very angry looking baby boy.

Kane looked over to Trixie and they both had tears in their eyes. Kane slowly walked over to Trixie and set the baby on her chest, Trixies arms instinctively wrapped around him.

"He's perfect.." Trixie whispered with tears falling down her cheeks.

"You're perfect." Kane cooed in her ear and placed a soft kiss to her cheek.

"He has your black hair.." Trixie smiled.

"A full set of hair at that." Kane chuckled.

Terrance was already a crying mess, giving Trixie a ton of forehead kisses, telling her how happy he is for her and that her mother would be so proud which in return made Trixie cry.

Everyone was smiling from ear to ear. Congratulating the new mom and dad, already trying to fight over who gets to hold him first.

"No one is touching that baby until we get him cleaned up. Come on, dad, let's go wash the little chipmunk up." Theodore smiled.

Kanes smile only grew wider. He gently picked Vincent up and gave Trixie a soft kiss to her lips. "I love you, princess."

"I love you, kitten." Trixie gave a soft smile in return.

Kane followed Theodore over to the small little table that had a baby bath on it. "It's simple really. Don't get the water too hot or cold. Luke warm is perfect. If you don't trust the tub itself to set the right temp, I'm sure if you let Goliath, he can heat it to perfection with your flame. But other than that, just hold his head and it'll be fine." Theodore explained while lathering up the soft little blue washcloth.

"Thank you." Kane said.

Theodore just chuckled. "I'm just showing you how to bath him, it's nothing to thank me for."

"No.." Kane said while shaking his head. "Thank you for letting me deliver my son.. I didn't even know that was what I wanted or needed." Kane whispered with tears threatening to fall.

Theodore just smiled at him, wrapping one arm around his shoulder and giving him a brotherly kiss to the side of his head. "I call full dibs on the next one." Theodore joked, making Kane laugh.

They both looked down at Vincent only to see him staring up at them with the most adorable grin on his face.
