Part Two: Ch. 2

"I take it back. I don't want to go." Todd whispered while walking up the highschool stairs with Vincent and KJ.

"Are you scared?" KJ teased.

"No!" Todd defended. "Dave has told us a lot about how these highschool kids are.. I don't.. want to be victimized."

Vincent and KJ busted out laughing.

"Victimized by who??" KJ weezed out.

"Horny she-wolves??" Vincent laughed.

"Go ahead, laugh at me now. You'll all see and when some random floozy comes for you, I'll be there to say I told you so.." Todd sneered.

Vincent and KJ just shook their heads and continued their way up the steps and made their way inside. The school seemed empty but they knew they were just late and everyone was in class.

"I thought Dave was mee.." Vincent was cut short.

"You're late!" Dave shouted from the entryway of the office.

"Yeah well pretty boy here needed to make sure he looked good for all the she-wolves." Vincent joked, lightly shoving KJs shoulder.

"I'm not interested in sleeping around anymore." KJ scoffed.

"Since when?!" Vincent and Dave asked simultaneously with slightly raised voices, completely shocked. Todd had an uncomfortable look on his face while he scanned the nearest wall, avoiding eye contact with Vincent.

"Does it matter?" KJ frowned. "Can we please just get our schedules or whatever."

"Okay.. the principal wants to talk to us so lets go in." Dave opened one the office doors and ushered them in. "Mr. Pinn this is Vincent, Todd and you know my cousin KJ.." Dave gave a small smile.

"Yes, of course. Hello, boys. It's honestly an honor that you guys wanted to join my school. I have enjoyed all three of your fathers hard work for our kingdom and such. My grandbabies are little hybrids and so it puts me at ease knowing how everything is changing for the better." Mr. Pinn smiled while shaking all three of their hands.

They responded with small nods and smiles of their own.

*Why the fuck did he have to make this shit so awkward..* KJ mindlink his three friends.

*He just wants to be on our good sides.. he's clearly terrified of offending us.* Todd snickered.

*He always treats me like I'm some fragile butterfly just because I'm your cousin.* Dave joked back.

*Just shut the fuck up.* Axe growled, making them all end the mindlink. Vincent looked at them and gave them an apologetic look.

"So here are your schedules.. you all seem to be advanced from being homeschooled so you only have three major classes you have to take. The first two classes that you must attend are your third and fourth period right before lunch and then your third class you must attend is your sixth period." Mr. Pinn instructed while handing them their schedules.

"And the rest of the periods throughout the day?" Vincent asked.

"Your schedule there should tell you, here is the school map. Just in case you need it." Mr. Pinn added. "It's still the first period and it's the first day of the year so you four have been excused from it for today so Dave here will show you to your lockers. Don't be late for your next class."

After Dave showed them to their lockers, the four of them have just been sitting on the bench across from their lockers, waiting for the first period to end.

"Has Axe always been so hateful?" Dave asked.

"Yes." KJ and Todd responded at the same time.

"He's not hateful.. he's just different. He would risk his life for these two without a doubt so hateful isn't the correct word I would use. He just doesn't like noise all that much.. so mindlinks annoy the shit out of him. He likes our mind to be quiet." Vincent defended.

"You're right. Hateful isn't the correct word to use.." KJ spoke while pretending to look deep in thought.

"Cruel?"

"Malevolent?"

"How about bitchy?" KJ and Todd teased back and forth.

"How about you both shove it up your ass." Vincent growled, making the other three laugh.

"Alright, listen guys.. the bell is going to ring any minute now and that means these halls are going to be flooded with people.. you three know what that means?" Dave asked.

"Victimized.." Todd whispered while looking down at the floor.

"What..? No? What's wrong with you?" Dave looked at him like he was crazy. "It means you three just sit here with me while everyone passes by and stares at you like your part of a circus. I'm sure some will approach, you three being royalty and all."

"Don't worry about that. We're here for the highschool experience.. not some floozies or wannabes." KJ answered. Vincent just stared at him for a solid minute.

"What are you hiding from me?" Vincent questioned with a slight glare.

KJ didn't have to worry about answering because the class bell rang, signaling that the first period was over.

"You have five minutes between each class to go to your locker or do whatever the hell you want." Dave added.

Vincent wanted to press further with KJ but his beasts attention immediately perked up. Vincent snapped his head towards the far end of the hallway where teenagers were exiting classrooms but he was focused on one individual.

"Who is that?" Vincent asked in a whispered tone.

Dave looked towards the crowd and frowned. "Who? I can't read your mind."

Vincent normally would have rolled his eyes but his attention was busy. "Black shirt, grey hair and dark blue jeans."

Daves' eyes scanned the crowd and almost immediately saw him. "Oh! That's Lennon.. he's special.. and human..?"

Vincents' eyes widened only slightly. "Human?"

"Well actually.. I'm not sure. No one does. He doesn't smell like a human. His mom is a human but no one knows what his father is." Dave answered confused as well.

"Doesn't matter." Vincent whispered, not once taking his eyes off of Lennon.

"Wait! Is he your mate??" KJ asked excitedly.

"Oh shit!" Todd chirped.

"No.. well I don't know.. I don't feel any pull or the electricity that everyone says there is when you first see your mate.." Vincent answered honestly.

"That's strange." Todd replied.

"His scent is probably what is catching your attention. You're not the only one intrigued by him." Dave said.

Vincent frowned. "What does that mean?"

"Well you all know Hardin? Alpha Maxs son. Well Jason will be Hardins beta and... Jason is crazy interested in Lennon.. he borderline stalks him. He is constantly bothering Lennon, pretty much harassing him.." Dave explained.

Vincent could feel Axe grow agitated just from that. "And no one is doing shit about it?"

Dave didn't answer. He lowered his gaze to the floor with a frown plastered to his face.

Vincent sent a sharp glare towards him before turning his focus back on Lennon. *What's going on with you?* Vincent asked his beast but didn't get a response.

"Tell me more about him." Vincent commanded.

"Umm.. well, Lennon would be considered one of the nerds, I guess. He keeps his head down and nose in books. He doesn't have any friends. He avoids everyone for some reason.." Dave paused not really sure how to put this into words. "He's special.. I don't mean he's like stupid or whatever but just somethings off with him, you know?"

"No friends?" Todd asked.

"That's sad.." KJ said.

"That's about to change." Vincent said while standing up and walking over to where Lennon was at, going through his locker. KJ, Todd and Dave stood up and followed after him, trying to avoid all of the curious eyes on them.

*So many lustful stares.. it's uncomfortable..* Todd mindlinked them.

*Shh.. before you piss off Axe..* KJ whispered back. *And just ignore them, Todd.* KJ sent a reassuring smile towards his friend.

Todd is the complete opposite from his older brother, Azrael. While Azrael oozes confidence and happens to be a slight asshole from time to time, Todd is shy and sweet, patiently waiting for his mate.

Vincent made his way towards Lennon and only stopped when he was a few feet away from him.

"Hey, Lennon right?" Vincent naturally smiled.

Lennon slowly turned his head to look up at Vincent and when their eyes met, Vincents' breath got stuck in his throat. Lennon had one dark brown eye and one ice blue eye. They had him mesmerised. Vincent didn't even realize Lennon was speaking to him until he felt one of his friends nudge his back, breaking him from his trance.

"I.. I'm sorry.. what did you say?" Vincent asked sheepishly.

"What do you want?" Lennon asked while lowering his gaze.

"What do I want?" Vincent frowned at his question.

"People only talk to me if they want something from me." Lennon answered.

*He sounds like an angel.* Axe whispered.

Vincent just kept staring at Lennon, completely confused. *What the fuck is going on?!* He nearly screamed at Axe but yet again, he was left with no response.

Lennon finally looked back up at Vincent, waiting for his answer.

"I just want to be friends." Vincent finally said after a very long couple of seconds.
