Chapter Eighteen

(***Three days later.***)

It's been three days since the whole Theodore and Tatum incident, three whole days since I didn't slaughter that prick teacher.

*Three days and that ass hat is still alive. We should go kill him.* Goliath growled.

*Now, now my angry little beast. He was next in line to be on the elder council. So of course it'll take a bit longer for the venom to finally kill him. I am impressed though with how hard his body is fighting it but with lack of food and water, he'll be dead by tomorrow. Don't worry, kitten.* Kane smirked, knowing this would lead to an argument. Goliath has been quiet for the past few days and Kane actually missed him yelling in his head.

*Little beast? Kitten?* Goliath scoffed. *I'll show you little when I smack my di..* Goliath was interrupted by a knock on the office door.

*Hold that thought, kitten.* Kane smiled back, earning a growl from Goliath.

"Come in." Kane kept his facial expressions neutral.

"Mr. Kane sir, your n-next appointment is here." A young pup announced. To say he was terrified of Kane was an understatement. Kane was thankful that Gabriel leant him his assistant to help him set up interviews for his own.

"Thank you Miles. Send him in." Kane made it clear that he only wanted men for the job. He didn't need some power or money hungry whore upsetting Trixie.

"Of c-course sir." Miles may be terrified of Kane but that wasn't the reason he keeps stuttering. Miles has always had a speech problem, it has gotten a lot better since working with Gabriel.

Kane was used to paying people to do his job. Of course taking care of his kingdom was a different story but he needed an assistant to help with his businesses since he'll be staying on earth. *Just make Theo or William do it. Actually just talk to Theo, he'll help, ya know.. he is our brother.* Goliath sneered, he also hated meeting new people. It was a complete waste of time for him. Kane just rolled his eyes. *Theo and William have kingdom affairs to worry about. Theo is my partner with our businesses but right now we aren't really talking so shut up before I block you.* Kane snapped back. Goliath has been a real pain in the ass for the past few days. They both have been. They're used to always having Theodore around and they haven't seen or talked to him since Kane went off on him in his room. The only time they can feel calm or relaxed is when they're with their mate. Kane was pulled from his thoughts from the door to his office opening.

"Mr. Kane?" A woman spoke, walking while swaying her hips seductively, straight towards his desk.

*Who the fuck is she?!? You said only males! I refuse to be a part of this! Get rid of her now!* Goliath was not happy. He knows Trixie has trust issues and with the way she's been treated, he didn't hold it against her. Kane agreed one hundred percent.

"These interviews are for a male assistants only." Kane didn't hold any emotions and definitely didn't apologize for any inconvenience.

"I'm more than qualified, Mr. Kane. I can show you. Just give me a chance, sir." She nearly purred at him with a suggestive smirk.

*Her voice sounds like nails on a chalk board.* Goliath growled out.

Ignoring his beast. "Who are you?" Kane asked in a demanding tone. He was just a few seconds from tapping into this womans mind to find out why she's acting like a harlet.

"My name is Ashley, sir." She was right in front of his desk now. She leaned over, showing off her breasts.

Kane didn't even glance at her. His eyes remained locked ahead of him. *Absolutly disgusting!* Goliath was growing impatient.

*That name. Where have we heard it before, Goliath?* Kane was searching his memories like a mad man. Completely forgetting about the woman in his office.

(***Two days after Max ran into Kane at school***)

Max was fuming! It's been 2 days since that *king* threatened him! He finally managed to get ahold of Ashley and was currently waiting for her to show up. *She sure does like to take her sweet fucking time!* Maxs wolf was on edge. *Kane could kill us for even thinking about having Trixie, you do realize that?* His wolf may care about Trixie but he also cared about his life.

*If he could kill us then he would have, in the parking lot the other day. He can't because we are the only next in line alpha and if he kills us then that means he is claiming our spot. We both know he has more important shit to deal with than lead a fucking pack of wolves. Relax, I don't know if he can read minds or what but he deffinitely knows we want Trixie. He knows we have a plan but he doesn't know what it is. So please just relax.* Max was calming his wolf down. He didn't need an angry alpha wolf on the loose. *Plus, we get Ashley to go into one of those interviews, she can try and seduce him. I mean it won't work but that will distract him long enough for us to get Trixie. Then we can get the hell out of here. Full proof. Ahsley will take the fall like planned.*

*I hope you're right.* His wolf was still unsure.

"What do you want Max? I was so close to getting your fathers Beta into bed." Ashley growls out, annoyed.

Max just scoffs. "No you weren't. Our beta is gay, dumbass and his mate would suck you fucking dry. He's a very possessive vampire who only needs one reason to feed off you. So tread carefully." Max rolled his eyes. *She's too fucking stupid, Max.* His wolf spoke up. "Anyways, Kane is setting up interviews for tomorrow for an assistant. This is probably the only chance you'll get to seduce him so I want you there. I already called for an interview, it's at 4pm so be there." Max stated.

"That's it? You had me waste my time by coming over here for you to tell me just that? You could have fucking texted me that!" Ahsley screamed at him.

Max and his wolf lost all patients. "Watch your fucking mouth, slut! I won't stand to be disrespected in my own fucking pack. You'll go to that interview and you'll do what you do best, whore. If you fail, I suggest you run because if Kane doesn't kill you, I fucking will." The second she started screaming, Maxs wolf took control. Max might be a hard ass but his wolf was on another level. Liam is an extremely domineering alpha, He doesn't stand for disrespect. "Got it?"

"Y-yes, Alpha." Ashley sutters out, lowering her head in submission.

"Get lost." Liam spat at her. Ashley wasted no time running out of there.

*Maybe I should let you take the reins more often.* Max chuckled to his wolf.

(***Present day***)

"You should go talk to him, Theo." William spoke.

Shortly after the incident at the school, Willaim went to check on Theodore and he apologized for being an ass. There was no need to act the way he did. Theodore needed his friends and that's what William was going to do, be there and help him through this. "He doesn't hate you, I know he feels guilty for what he said to you."

"You sure about that?" Theodore hasn't left his room since Kane walked away from him. He was lost without his brother and even more so with how he handled Tatum. He hasn't spoken or seen him either since then. "I'm scared Kane will reject me as his brother.. what if he doesn't want or need me anymore?" Theodore choked back some tears.

"Come on, lets go. You haven't eaten or slept in days and the only reason Kane is able to function is because of Trixie. We are taking you to him now." Jake demanded. He wasn't going to take no for an answer.

Kane was stuck in his memories and didn't even notice Ashley making her way around his desk towards him.

"Mr. Kane are you alright?" Ashley whispered in his ear, slowly placing her hands on his shoulders..

Ashley didn't even have time to register what happened. Kane may have been lost in thought but Goliath never lets his guard down. The second her hands made contact with his shoulders, Goliath took control, letting out a loud, sinister growl, shooting up to his feet, shoving Ashley across the room.

"HOW ARE YOU TOUCH ME!" Goliath might be the most gentle teddy bear towards his mate but with anyone else, they get the grizzly bear. Amongst other things, Goliath hates being touched by anyone. "You think you can come in here and do what exactly?? Get me to betray my queen?? You're fucking delusional! I would rather burn for eternity than ever do such a thing!" Goliath was red hot. He wanted blood. "It's been so long since I've taken a soul. Yours seems to be pretty damned, let's take a look, shall we?" Goliath gave a sinister smile. Before Ashley could protest, Goliath threw a black collar at her and it immediately wrapped tightly around her neck, like two magnets connecting.

Her screams filled the entire castle. Theodore, Jake and William were the first to bust through the door since they were already heading there.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN HERE??" That was Balthazar with Gabriel hot on his heels.

Goliath slowly turned his head to look at the men pilling in the room. He just gave his signature smirk and turned back to look at the worthless woman withering in pain on the floor. Theodore, Jake and William already knew what was going on and went to stand next to their King.

It was like Theodore snapped out of his depression and went straight to work mode. "This womans soul is being judged. I guess similar to your trials but not really. The collars latch onto her soul and judge if she's innocent or damned. It's a pretty painful process, if you can't tell..." Theodore was interrupted by Gabriel..

"Why the fuck is this happening?? I thought he could smell a damned soul from miles away! Why would he need to put this woman through so much pain!?" Gabriel was livid. He's suppose to protect his people, not let some crazed psycho torture them.

"I can detect a damned soul just by looking at someone if I choose to but where's the fun in that when I have plenty of these collars here to use? This *woman* came into my office and was clearly trying to seduce me. She even tried to take advantage of Kane while he was busy searching his mind for some information, what kind of man would I be if I let her take advantage of my human?" Goliath wasn't sure how he was managing from slaughtering everyone in sight, maybe finding his mate changed him some.

"Why was she trying to seduce you? What information was he searching for?" William managed to squeak out. Goliath always managed to terrify him.

Goliath just smirked at him. "Well let me ask."
