Part Two: Ch. 40

*Uncle Theo is going to mess with us..* Axe complained. *I don't want to hear it.*

*Well it's your fault if he does.* Vincent countered while rounding the corner to the dining room. Vincent faltered in his steps when all eyes turned to him but he was greeted with soft smiles.

Vincent made his way to sit next to Theodore, preparing himself for the jokes but was surprised when Theodore wrapped an arm around his shoulder, pulling him closer and placed a gentle kiss to Vincents' temple. "It'll be okay, babe." Theodore whispered in Vincents' ear, releasing his shoulder with a soft squeeze.

"Thank you." Vincent mumbled with a small smile.

"I have a surprise for you." Theodore leaned back in while whispering.

"A surprise?" Vincent grinned.

"Yeah but it took some convincing and speaking from experience, make up as soon as possible." Theodore grinned while nudging Vincent with his elbow.

Vincent looked at his uncle confused until he felt that familiar tingle. Vincent snapped his head towards the entryway of the dining room the second his scent hit his nose. Lily entered while greeting everyone with warm smiles, followed by Set who had his normal blank face but handed out stern handshakes. Vincents' eyes stayed glued to the door while watching a pouting Lennon walk in.

Vincent normally would have rushed straight towards Lennon but he was unsure if Lennon would want him near after how upset Axe got him.

"So you're not going to greet me anymore?" Lennon stuck out his bottom lip in a pout while furrowing his brows. Vincent stood up abruptly causing his chair to fall back. Vincent rushed towards Lennon and quickly pulled him into a hug while burying his nose in Lennons' neck. Lennon pulled back while staring up at Vincent. "You don't love me anymore?" Lennon pouted, sticking out his bottom lip.

Vincent cupped Lennons' cheeks while leaning down and pulling Lennons' bottom lip into his mouth, gently sucking and nibbling it. "I'll never stop loving you." Vincent whispered against Lennons' lips. "Can we talk about earlier, please?"

"After dinner." Kane interrupted.

Vincent let out a soft but annoyed huff and led Lennon to the table. "Fine."

Lennon leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on Vincents' jawline. "We'll talk after dinner, okay?" VIncent smiled down at him and nodded.

"Kane!" Kol came running into their kitchen, interrupting the small conversations around the table.

"Seriously?" Kane scowled while gesturing towards the dinner they were about to have.

"You have to come with me. It's important, an emergency." Kol stressed.

"I'm having dinner with my family.." Kane growled.

"Kane, I wouldn't be bothering you if it wasn't serious.." Kol explained.

Kane let out a heavy sigh while glancing down at Trixie. "Baby.."

"It's okay." Trixie smiled while caressing his arm and leaning over to kiss his lips. "I'll save your.. dessert for tonight.."

Kane grinned against Trixies' lips. "How about.."

"Kane.." Kol interrupted while clearing his throat.

Kane sent a sharp glare towards Kol but rolled his eyes. "If I didn't love you, man. I would kick your ass." Kane stood up from his seat, placing a soft kiss on Trixies' head. "Alright, lets' go." Kane turned to Kol and headed out the door.

"I'm sorry for interrupting dinner." Kol smiled, sheepishly while walking out the door.

"What could be so important?" Vincent whispered to Theodore. "I mean, everything is okay now, right?"

Theodore frowned while glancing back at the door. "I don't know. I'm sure everything is okay, babe." Theodore reassured.

"So why the fuck am I here and not eating dinner with my family?" Kane growled while entering Gabriels' office.

"One of the southern packs was attacked." Gabriel sighed. "It was hunters."

"Goddess.." Kane sighed. "How bad was it?"

"Not bad, actually. A neighboring pack that they share a border with was there to help. Some warriors were injured from silver but no lives were lost, thankfully." Gabriel explained. "But the real problem is.. The packs managed to capture the hunters.."

"Okay, so how's that a problem?" Kane questioned with a frown.

"The pack is over five hours away.. we have to figure out how to transfer them here through human territory.." Gabriel sighed.

"Easy, I'll just send Jake and Theodore to blink them here." Kane shrugged. "No traveling needed. So what about damages?"

"I was hoping with your lumber yards and stuff that you could supply the materials they need." Gabriel asked.

"The materials? Gabriel, don't worry about the cost, it'll get taken care of." Kane reassured them.

*I can't wait to get my hand on those hunters!* Goliath growled.

Kane shook his head at his beast. *Always so crazy.* Kane chuckled when he heard Goliath huff. "Is this the paperwork? I'll need to look it over."

"Yeah, of course." Gabriel gave a small smile while handing over the files.

"Kane.. There is something else.." Kol spoke nervously while scratching the back of his neck.

"What?" Kane narrowed his eyes at him.

"So there was this accident at another pack.. They call themselves the Northerners." Kol explained. "A young she-wolf commited suicide.."

"What the fuck? Are you serious??" Kane nearly shouted while shock covered his face. "Why? It's being investigated, yes?"

"Of course. We sent our best man to investigate." Gabriel cleared his throat. "Apparently she did it right after her mate rejected her.."

"That's horrible.." Kane rubbed a hand through his hair. "Do we know why?"

"She had a pup with someone else." Kol answered.

"Who was her mate?" Kane asked while sighing.

"Just some random warrior from another pack.." Gabriel sighed. "It apparently tore him up.."

"He deserves to fucking suffer. Rejecting your mate all because they ended up having a kid with someone else, before they met you.." Kane scoffed. "Fucking pathetic.."

*We would never reject our mate if she had a pup before us!* Goliath stated proudly. *I can't say I wouldn't kill the man though.*

Kane grinned to himself. *Calm down crazy.*

"So the Northerners Alpha sent the child here.." Kol cleared his throat.

"Oh.. wait.. why?" Kane looked up at him confused. "Oh no.. It's not one of ours is it?"

Kols' entire body crumbled while sitting down next to Kane. "It's KJ.. I don't even know.."

*WHAT!* Goliath roared.

"How old is the kid?" Kane gritted his teeth while his hard glare didn't leave Kol.

"Three, going to be four.." Kol mumbled while running his hands over his tired face. "It happened before Isabella was born."

"Back up.." Kane shook his head. "I need details."

"Apparently in the girls journal, they met at a party. They were both drunk." Kol explained. "We all know my son isn't a saint. Ever since he noticed girls, he couldn't keep it in his pants. I've warned him plenty of times to stop fucking around." Kol sighed. "I was so happy when Isabella was born, KJ finally stopped being a little whore." Kol chuckled sadly.

Kane let out a heavy sigh. "Accidents happen, Kol.."

"This isn't going to ruin things with Isabella, is it?" Kol asked, worry lacing his voice. "Isabella is KJs' whole world."

Kane looked thoughtful. "That all depends on KJ. I can't interfere with fate. My mother and aunt would have my ass hanging over a fireplace if I tried to stop Issy and KJ from being mates. I know how weird and bizarre this situation is but in our world.. We aren't really known for being normal. I mean shit Kol, I'm over ten thousand years older than Trixie." Kane chuckled lightly. "I can't really judge KJ.."

"He's just so worried about it.." Kol let out a relieved sigh.

"He should be worried but not about that. Isabella is going to be one pissed off, jealous little monster." Kane joked. "But on a serious note, are you guys sure he's the father? I mean, a journal isn't really hardcore proof.."

"I'm having Dr. Lee do our own test.. " Kol confirmed. "But we definitely don't need it. KJ and I could both smell our blood running through his veins, plus the immediate connection. It was like the bond snapped into place. If that isn't enough for you, Danny looks just like us, KJs' twin.. shaggy brown hair, blue eyes.. even their chins are the same.." Kol chuckled.

"Danny?" Kane raised his brows. "That's his name?"

"Daniel but he likes Danny." Kol smiled.

"You're a grandpa." Kane snickered. "You old bastard."

"Fuck you." Kol snorted while standing up.

"Is the little pup adjusting well?" Gabriel questioned.

"He was completely panicked at first. The only family he knew dropped him off like he meant nothing." Kol let out a heavy sigh. "He ran straight to KJ though. He knew exactly who he was."

"He'll be okay." Gabriel reassured. "He has all of us, you have all of us. Don't think you're alone in this."

Kane nodded in reassurance. "You're family. Always will be."

"Thanks guys, I really appreciate it." Kol gave his best genuine smile. "I just hope Vincent understands."

"He will."
