Chapter Thirty-three

We managed to lull Trixie to sleep while being wrapped up in her wings. She used a lot of energy being that upset. Thankfully Goliaths soft purrs and my humming relaxed her enough to where her wings and such retracted. We're currently in our room, I'm laying down next to her while watching her sleep.

*We're such creeps, huh?* Goliath chuckled.

*Love.* That was all Kane replied back.

*Let's go see what they're doing here.* Goliath whispered.

With a heavy sigh Kane made his way to the living room. Everyone turned to look at Kane once he turned the corner of his hallway. Kane tried to give an innocent smile towards the two guests. *This isn't going to go well.* Goliath whispered with a hint of fear.

"Kane Goliath Hell." The voice had so much anger built behind it.

"Yes, mother?" Kane gave a sheepish smile.

"How dare you not contact us for over two months! When we finally contact Gabriel, imagine my surprise when he tells me that you BOTH found your mates!!! I'm your mother! Don't you think I deserve to meet my future daughter!" Mania pointed an angry finger at Kane and quickly turned around towards Theodore. "And don't you think I deserve to meet my future son, as well??" Mania was beyond pissed off at her boys. "I feel so heartbroken that my boys kept something so important from me!"

Samuel wasted no time in wrapping his arms around Mania. "Shh, it's okay, my love. Take deep breaths. Give them a chance to explain."

Kane and Theodore just watched as their father calmed down their mother.

*I'm glad dad is here. Mom would be beating our asses black and blue if he wasn't.* Theodore linked Kane.

*Yeah, imagine what she'll do once you tell her why you didn't tell them about Tatum.* Kane gave Theodore a knowing look. Theodore knows there will be hell to pay once his parents find out about that accident with Tatum.

"Shall we have a seat in the living room or the dining room? Would you like something for lunch?" Kane always tried to remember the manners his mother burned into his memory when she was around.

"Lunch would be perfect, bunny." Samuel smiled over at his son.

"Will you ever stop with that nickname?" Kane groaned.

"Never. You're my bunny and Theo is my ducky. Y'all shouldn't have gotten caught with them." Samuel shrugged it off. "So lunch?"

"Yes, follow me." Theodore spoke up and led his family to the dinning hall. *This is going to be a long day.* Theodore whispered to Kane through their link.

*Tell me about it.* Kane added with a groan.

~ ~ ~

My entire body ached. I tried rolling over and reaching for Kane but the bed was empty and cold. That woke me up. Usually Kane is there when I wake up.

*You're not in bed.. where are you?* I tried to hide the sorrow in the mindlink but I have to master using my link.

*I'm in the kitchen, princess. We have guests. I'll come get you.* Kane answered back immediately.

*No, no. I'm getting up. It's okay..* Trixie was already making her way to the bedroom door. Not caring that her hair looked wild.

When Trixie turned the corner into the kitchen, she froze in place, all eyes landed on her. She still wasn't comfortable around unknown people and Kane knew that. He quickly walked over to her and wrapped her in a big hug, nuzzling his nose in her neck.

"Hey baby. How was your nap? Feeling better?" Kane smiled down at her.

Trixie returned the smile. "My body hurts but I'm okay... are you okay..?" Trixie remembered what happened after breakfast and was still upset that she threw a fireball at her own mate. She lifted his shirt to look and was surprised there was no burn mark. She looked back up at Kane with a confused face.

"I'm fine, love. We're mates. Your flame couldn't hurt me even if you wanted it too." Kane gave Trixie a reassuring smile but before he could continue, someone cleared their throat, grabbing his attention.

"Ah, yes. Baby, this is my mother, Mania and my father, Samuel." Kane started the introductions. "This is my mate, Trixie." Kanes smile only widened when he mentioned Trixie.

Trixie just stared at the couple. Theodore was an exact replica of his father, Samuel. The dirty blonde hair, bright blue eyes, Samuel even had a small hint of brownies in his scent. Kane was just the manly version of his mother. Of course her black hair seemed to have a bit more shine to it, the dark brown eyes and cherry cheesecake scent was all too familiar. Of course their scents were different. Samuel smelled like sandalwood and brownies while Mania smelled like cherry cheesecake and lavender. What surprised Trixie was that Mania wasn't short at all. She had to be at least five foot nine. Guess that's where Kane gets his height.

"It's nice to meet you." Trixie added with a blush, hiding slightly behind Kane.

"Oh my sweet girl! Come here! Let me take a look at you!" Mania was beyond excited. She always wanted a little girl after being terrorzied by Theodore and Kane her whole life.

Trixies cheeks were a dark red now. She made her way over to Mania and was immediately engulfed in a soft but secure hug. A mothers hug. Trixie hadn't been hugged like this in over ten years. She had to fight to keep the tears at bay.

"I can't believe you've kept this treasure a secret from us!" Mania started to complain to Kane again. "And what about my son-in-law???" Mania turned to look at Theodore while still holding onto Trixie.

"Baby, come here." Kane frowned. Mania may be his mother but he still didn't like other people touching Trixie.

"Oh no, you don't! You've had her all to yourself for over two months now. She is going to be with me. We have a lot to talk about!" Manie sent Kane a warning glare.

"Mother! I didn't keep her a secret, I was just keeping her.." Kane was about to go on a rant but Trixie interrupted him.

"He was only doing what I asked of him. I didn't want the attention of everyone and I didn't think I was ready to be a queen so I asked him to not make it public back then." Trixie explained.

While the family sat around the table, Kane and Trixie went through all the events that have happened since he found her. Kane explained they haven't completed unifying the two kingdoms yet but they will be within the next few weeks. Trixie even explained her past, the attack, the abuse and then her father finding her during her shift.

"Well I guess I can't be too upset after you explained everything so well then." Mania smiled sweetly at Trixie. "Oh, Samuel! Isn't this wonderful! Isn't Trixie just a doll!"

Samuel just looked at Mania like she was the most precious thing in the world. "Of course, my love. Our family just keeps getting blessed." He then leaned over and gave a gentle kiss to Manias temple.

Theodore kept quiet, waiting for his turn to tell his mother what had happened.

After clearing his throat. "Alright, ducky. Why haven't we met your mate, yet?" Samuel asked Theodore.

"Ducky?" Trixie asked, confused. At that moment the oven timer went off and Theodore took that as his chance to escape.

"I'll check on the ravioli!" Theodore said a little too loud and ran to the kitchen. Leaving Samuel a bit confused.

"What did he do?" Mania asked Kane and gave him a no nonsense look.

"It's his story to tell. Tatum is at training and I honestly think it's best if you two would be patient enough to wait for after lunch so we can just enjoy our first meal as a whole family. Tatum should be here shortly." Kane said with a heavy sigh.

It only took a few minutes before Theodore came rushing back out with plates and silverware. "I'll go grab the salad! We still have ten minutes before the ravioli is done!" Theodore ran back into the kitchen to grab the salad but didn't stay to serve it. He retreated back into the kitchen.

Hoping to ease the tension, Trixie decided to serve the salad. "Here, I'll do this!"

Before Mania could object, Kane was already grabbing this salad tongs from Trixie. "I'll do it, baby. You just sit back and relax. You've had a couple of rough days, princess." Kane leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"Right." Trixie replied with a frown, remembering why she almost burned down their wing.

As if reading Trixies mind. "Sweet girl, we owe you an apology. Samuel and I just can't seem to keep our hands off each other for too long. When we arrived, one of Gabriels assistants escorted us to our boys office and told us they would arrive shortly. Apparently that assistant didn't know her head from her ass because the boys never showed up. That was Samuel and I you heard in the office. I'm so sorry that we upset you and our scents made you think other things had happened." Mania explained with a slight blush on her cheeks.

"Your scents do explain it. I'm so embarrassed." Trixie hid her face in her hands.

Kane squated next to Trixie and pried her hands away from her face. He cupped her cheeks. "Don't be embarrassed, baby. If I would have heard it, I would be on a murdering spree. You have nothing to be embarrassed about. Your father explained to me that phoenixs are extremely territorial and even more possessive. You couldn't control it. It's not your fault. Just know that I love you so damn much." Trixie just smiled at him and leaned forward to kiss his lips.

Mania and Samuel just smiled at each other. You could feel the happiness radiating off them for their son.

Manie didn't want to interrupt Kane and Trixies moment but Theodore managed to sneak away. "Where is your brother hiding?"

"For the Fire Goddess, you sure don't pay attention to your surroundings." Kane teased.

"I prefer Goddess of Hell." Mania scowled at Kane. "I have plenty of men outside this castle and outside your door. Goddess have mercy on whatever poor soul who thinks they can challenge me." Manie added a scoff at the end.

Kane just shook his head. "He's in the kitchen with Tatum."

"WHAT!" Mania stood up and was going to barge into the kitchen but Kane stopped her.

"Just give him a few minutes." Kane sighed. "He just needs a few minutes to prepare."

"Prepare for what?"
