#Chapter 12 - Her past

"Because, I have a history of not being able to show myself in public. I... I was wanted."
Elijah's eyes filled with wonder.

After confessing to Elijah I felt defenseless. I had been pretending to be strong for so long that mustering up what little courage I had left brought me to tears. I had never let my guard down around anyone since Jacob.

The last time I shared my ambitions with any man he threw my heritage and my dreams in my face, I was still afraid that Elijah would become as malicious as Jacob.

But I had to trust him., I just could not bring myself to lie to this man I front of me

"The truth is, I'm actually a child actor, but I haven't been on the big screen for at least a decade. Maybe you've seen the movies I've been in. They gave me the nickname Little Aviator."

Elijah nodded. "Yeah, I've seen that one. The little girl in the show is amazing, so is that you?"
I laughed and looked down trying to annoy Elijah seeing my face grow red. Elijah was a fan.

“Yes.”

"Then she disappeared from showbiz. So, does it have anything to do with the wanted thing you were talking about?"

I froze for a moment. I pondered my response. While it was true I was wanted then but now I was possibly wanted for running away for my mate and his pack.

"Yes." I tightly gripped my clothes. If I continue I know there is no going back from here.
"However, can I keep the details of being wanted a secret for now?"

Right in front of me I saw Elijah's eyes change. Then it hit me.

I suddenly realized that he actually knew about the disappearance of my former self! Although I was a well-developed child star, my withdrawal from the film industry should not cause much sensation.

Elijah's eyes were a little too unpredictable for me. But his face did not show shock or disgust.

Part of me was still unsure how he would react to everything I just revealed to him.

Elijah's POV

Ava was a former child star.

"I'm actually a child actor, but I haven't been on the big screen for at least a decade.”

I could not help but ask, “Then she disappeared from showbiz.” Ava nodded at my question?

“Yes.” Sher explained that she did not want to dive deeper into her past and why she had been wanted. This made me wonder.

There have been times when stars and actors leave the entertainment business because of personal reasons. But there were darker tales as well parents squandering away the money the child made. Fans becoming stalkers and making death threats against their favorite actor. I could count a hand full of actors that had filed restraining orders against stalkers.

I still could not believe what I was hearing. Ava was the Little Aviator; a child star that took the nation by storm. She was every talent agents dream. From being able to cry on queue to her ability to engulf the audience with her song.
My heart was overwhelm. It broke for the girl in front of me. Now everything began to make sense.

From Ava's determination when I called her a pretty face. Her able to adapt to any script in front of her and all the negative situation that happened before the contest kicked off. She had years of experience that most of the girls that competed could not fathom.
So how was I suppose to tell Ava, that the little girl on the big screen had acted in one of my favorite movies. The Little Aviator was the one that planted the seed for me to open a performance art company.

Ava favored The Little Aviator so much that I tolerated her. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be face to face with the inspiration to my hopes and dreams.

Hell, I did not even expect them to be the same person.

I said slowly, "Oh, that's all the reason why you rejected me?"

Ava's eyes widened "Isn't that enough?"

I answered in a nonchalant tone. "Then you don't need to worry too much. I don't care about your history."

"But" I said as grabbed Ava's chin and looked straight into her eyes.

"What I care about is your present, your ability. Can you realize your potential and become a star with a real future?"

I could see her blushing due to how close we were. Dammit she was so beautiful.

"You said you can handle all this? I mean, although you may be rich and you are the chairman of this company, it doesn't mean you can really get me back on the screen."

I shrugged. "Oh, I never say things I'm not sure about."

Ava said blankly, "Oh my God, thank you. I can't believe this is real."

"I can give you a clean background. My background is...very special. But, I lack real talent, real actors, you know?" I reassured Ava that I could take care of anything that involved her past. I just needed her to trust me.

Ava's eyes hardened. "I won't let you down. However, to be on the safe side, I have an idea to tell you..."
