#Chapter 58: Twins
AVA’s POV
I feel a arm curl over me and pull me into his embrace. It has been three months since Elijah made our feelings clear. Every night since then he has proven to me that he is devoted to the wellbeing of me and my children.
I lean my head back against his shoulder only to felt his hand pushed through my hair. He lays a kiss at the base of my chins and sits up. I see the desire in his eyes as he cups my breast underneath my shirt.
I let out a soft moan and he begins to kiss my lips. As his hands begin to find my entrance the moment of bliss is quicky interrupted by cries coming from the baby monitor sitting on the nightstand.
He groans and lays his palm on the pillow where my head is resting. I cannot help but laugh.
“Lucas, my boy can’t I say good morning to your mother,” he says as he walks to the next room. I don’t hide my smile at how good Elijah is with the babies.
He returns to the room holding my three month old son. His eyes are closed and his breathing is still as Elijah cradles him close to his heart. He is almost the spitting image of Jacob except for the hazel colored eyes.
I gathered that they had to have come from my mother. In my ritual I saw green and golden specs in her brown eyes. I ruffled his black hair only to have Elijah pull his body away from my touch.
“Oh no, you don’t I just go him back to sleep.” He said as he lay a kiss on my lips. He sat on the bed smiling down at our son.
Our son. Those words made my heart swell. That moment was interrupted by the sound of a shrill cry that came from the nursery.
“I got her,” I said as I quickly made my way to the room. A month before the babies were born Elijah and helped me turn one of the unused rooms into a nursery. It had started out as a sky blue colored room. It had been filled with darker and lighter hued blues for the arrival of Baby Lucas.
Both doctors had assured us that the baby I was carry was going to be boy. They were partly right. After I had delivered Lucas the Juliana had noticed and motioned for me to continue to push. Five hours later I was staring at a mirror of myself in my daughter Olivia.
Unlike Lucas she had dark brown hair that was curled were his was straight and pitch black. That was not the only difference however, Olivia’s eyes were gray. It had concerned us that she might be blind but the doctor’s had put our fears to rest assuring us that it was her natural eye color.
Elijah told me more than likely they inherited traits from my parents considering I was stronger than Jacob. I was convinced that he was just trying to make me feel better.
I scooped up my precious cargo and made our way down stairs. After a few days of moving around furniture I managed to split the room into two dividing the room into two colors: lilac purple and sky blue. Elijah had told me that I could have just given the babies each their own room but I wanted to be close to both of them.
I saw that Elijah had already put Lucas in his rocking chair and I settled Olivia into the one next to him. We had noticed that neither child like to be too far away from their sibling. It made since they were together growing inside me for so long.
I went to the kitchen to see that Elijah was already dressed to head to the studios. I sighed heavily as I went to the cabinet for a cup to make tea. I started to cut back on coffee since the twins were born.
“Don’t pout,” Elijah said as he wrapped his arms around my waist. “You only have to wait a few more months and the doctors will release you back to work.”
I dropped my head into his chest with a depressing moan. I loved spending time with the babies and I had decided to take time off from acting to raise them, however I still needed to be clear from other activities. Juliana had forbade me from shifting until the babies were at least five months.
The human doctor said that I could not go on walks for the next two months considering I had to deliver earlier and my body was still recovering.
“Or my boss can call the doctors and tell them to release me,” I said standing on my tip toes to wrap my arms around him and pant a kiss on his lips. He chuckled as he removed my arms and set my feet back down.
“Nice try, follow the doctors orders, Ava.” Elijah said as he left the room.
I followed him out of the kitchen seeing him pass his hand over Lucas’ brow and plant a kiss on Olivia’s temple. He went over to me and held my chin in his hand. “Get some rest,” he said sternly as he left.
I let out a frustrated sigh as I obeyed my Alpha’s command. Even though I had not officially joined the Harbingers the packed had welcomed me open arms. Well except for Sissy.
After finding out that Elijah and I had sex, Sissy actually tried to challenge me to a fight.
Sissy growled at me as she took a stance. “Accept my challenge and fight me,” she yelled.
I let out a sigh. I should have know it was a bad idea to come to the pack lands right after Elijah and I had finished rolling around in the sheets. Here everyone could smell the scent of sex oozing from off of us.
“I am denying your challenge,” I flat out stated. I had no interest in fighting her. With my training I could rip her in two but I refused to let my unborn child get in harms way.
Sissy went to slap me in the face only to have me grab her and slam her into the wall of the pack house.
“Enough,” I screamed. “Raise a hand to me again and I promise you will regret it.”
Elijah and the others broke up the argument between Sissy and I but the damage had been done. She made it obvious that she was not above harming a pregnant she-wolf. Elijah had taken her away from everyone else to discuss the matter.
It was not til later that day he confronted me about the situation.
“She believes what?” I could not believe what I was hearing. I was pacing in the living room.
“Christene has reason to believe that you are part of the rogue organization that is trying to work against myself and the Enforcers.” Elijah said staring at me. He was leaning against the wall on the opposite side of the room.
“Can you not see what she is up to?” I asked.
“I know. I know, and I made it clear to Christene that her transgression will not be tolerated. So she is either going to be leaving the pack or search for a mate to qualm her anger.” Elijah said.
If the end Sissy made the decision to leave Elijah’s pack, however he did not have the heart to label her as a rogue. He told her that she was welcome to come back at any time. But he also made it clear that challenging me was off the table.
I mentioned that once the baby was born, I would accept her challenge. Even though I was not staking my claim on Elijah I wanted to make it clear to Sissy that she and I would never be on common ground.
