#Chapter 64: A Challenge is Finally Answered

Melissa had told me everything that I had needed to know. She had explained that she knew where my babies were being held and she would do me the service of taking them to her home. Melissa promised me that she would guard them no matter what.
“Why would you be willing to help me? Why would you risk your life for mine?”
I could not help but wonder what her motivation was at this point. Melissa and I hardly talked to one another, yet she was determined to aid me in escaping.
“You have always been good to the people of this pack despite what was thrown your way. Even when my mate said you abandoned the pack I knew it was for a good reason. I even persued him to reconsider condemmibng you.” Melissa said as she gave me more food to eat.
“I need to know where Jacob and Alex are.” I did not want to waste any time searching for them. I knew sooner or later one of them would come to the cell and I was going to be ready for them.
“Jacob is at the pack house dealing with a rebellion right now, and she should be making her way here at any moment.” Melissa sneered.
“Good,” I said thinking about my next course of actions. Before Melissa left I gave her detailed instructions on what to do next. I told her to gather my children to her home and not to let anyone near her or the babies until I came for them.
I also told her to splash mask her scent that way no one would know she had been down here to see me. I did not want Alex to be aware of anything.
I took a deep breath and leaned my head to the side. I slumped my body back to the side to make it seem like I was still suffering from the drugs. I could feel Alex making her way down the stairs. That was when I realized where I was: I was in the basement cell.
That miserable bastard locked me in the basement underneath the house. When did he install a cage…
Does it matter…he and his little plaything will be dead soon.
I tried to hide my smile as I heard my wolf growl at my approaching victim.
“Well isn’t this a pretty sight. I finally get to see you in such sorry state.” Alex moved closer to me and stopped only a few inches away.
I could take a swing at her right now but I wanted a clear shot. And as she bent down on the ridiculous clincking heels I knew that I had to act.
“I should just kill you now and be damned about Jacob’s little conscious.” Alex said as she cracked her knuckles. When she cocked her fist back I did not give her the chance to make contact with my body. I dodged it.
As she went to hit my face I tilted my head away from the impact. Her fist ended to crash into the wall. I quickly grab her wrist and pulled her off her feet. I reeled my head back and slammed my forehead into hers.
I headbutt the bitch to the point that I heard her cough and hack at the surprise attack. She feel backwards against the hard concrete.
I rose from the ground to my feet and started to uncoil my joints nad muscles. I titled my head back and forth and prepared for the shift. I could see the confusion in Alex’s eyes. She was speechless and could not recover in time.
“You are suppose to be drugged!”
“Suppose to be.” I mocked.
“I challenge you bitch! I want your title and your life it rightfully belongs to me!” Alex screeched. It was like blisters in my ears.
“I accept.” I growled. My body quickly shifted into my wolf form in the blink of an eye.
As I quickly went for Alex’s throat she slid out of the way and slammed her body into the wall.
Big mistake.
With Alex backed against the wall I made a swipe for her face only to have her duck and my blow land hitting her arm. The force and the impact sent her slamming in the bars of the cell. I crouched down in my wolf form and prepared to take another charge.
I could see that she was trying to shift as well but I was not going to give her a chance.
I jumped up and sprang to action. I did not give Alex enough time to recover from the hit nor did I let her try to transform. I opened my jaws wide enough that I could have fit her head in my jaws.
I bit down on her shoulder and locked on her. I felt a sharp pian in my sidde, when I looked down I saw that she had shifted her hand into a were claw a punctured my side. But it did little good. I bite down harder on her shoulder and slammed her agaisnt the bars once more.
“Let me go bitch! This is not a fair fight!” Alex wailed. I laughed into her mind.
What made you think I was going to give you a fair fight? You lost that chance when you and that prick drugged me and you attacked me in a weaken state. I am just returning the favor.
“I am the rightful LUNA of this pack and you are nothing but halfbreed trash!” Alex said. She transformed her other arm into a half transformation. This time she started to punch me with both claws into my head. She was hoping that the impacts of her fist would get me to let go.
“I deserve Jacob not you,” Alex continued to shout. I quickly let go of her shoulder and jumped away. I noticed that the puncture wound in my side was slowly starting to close. Since that idiot Jacob had not released me from our bond my body was using the bond to heal itself. Had he stripped me of those rights, and instated Alex she would be the one recovering right now.
I shifted back into my human form. I spat out a bit of blood her way. She curled her jaw into a snarl.
“You don’t deserve Jacob for a mate.”
I started to laugh. She still did not get it. I was not challenging her to keep my title as his LUNA.
“Why would I want that waste of fur and meat? I am only doing this to put you in your place; under my feet. DEAD.”
I was fighting her to leave her dead in this dirty basement; how she intended to leave me down here.
As Alex quickly recovered and speed to me I dodged it and slammed my forearm into her head and hit her in the side with my elbow. With this much damage and losing blood I knew that she should give up. But I knew that she would try to fight me to the very end.
“So I remember you saying that if you ever got the chance you would put me in the ground…What to test that theory?”
I lifted my hands in the air above my head and started to generate power in my finger tips. Power cracked in between my fingers tips as I crouched down and sped to the other side of the room. I saw that Alex was trying to match my speed but with my new abilities I could push myself. I extended my hand to her chest and slammed her into the wall.
There was a massive shift in the ground underneath us. It was as if there had been an earthquake. Clouds of dirty and dust swarmed the air. I pushed my hand further to meet my goal until I heard a gurgling sound. When the dust cleared Alex was against the wall and her head was leaning forward against my shoulder. She had several cuts and bruises forming from the impact.
I removed my arm from its destination, I had made a crater in Alex’s chest. I the middle of her breast was my hand and the organ I clenched into my hand. I had ruptured Alex’s chest and pulled out her beating heart. I could feel it beat one more time before I ripped it out of her chest cavity.
I was tempted to take a bite out of the organ and absorb Alex’s limited power, however the thought made me growl.
I don’t want any part of the traitorous bitch in my body.
I second that.
I smiled at the thought that my wolf both agreed on what to do with her black heart.
I released the Alex’s heart from her grip and dropped it on the floor.
I picked my bare foot up and stepped on the dead organ. I did not bother wiping the residue from my foot. I wanted the man that betrayed me to catch the scent of his fallen lover.
I wanted him to know that he would meet the same fate and it would be at my hands.
