#Chapter 49: For the Love of Another

I would be lying if I said I was enthusiastic about the amount of travelling I had to do between the sets and bouncing back and forth from my studio home and Elijah’s house. I had decided that I would check in with Elijah on a weekly basis due that way the studio scheduling would not drain me any further.
With the scheduled shoots and filming along with my pregnancy I was kept busy to the point that I felt like I was falling back into my unhealthy habit of avoiding sleep and eating. However it was not for the lack of trying.
Anything that I tried to consume would result in morning sickness or as I liked to call it constant toilet hugging. My now developing stomach made it hard for me to get comfortable at night so I tossed and turned like crazy.
Not to mention my feet when killing me more than usual with the lack of movement during filming. It seemed like unlike my last series appearance this team figured I was better relaying my lines as a statue. The director and I almost came to blows about me switching from heels to flats during a scene change. Lucky other actresses had agreed with me.
Note to self: bring slippers to wear during filming sessions.
With everything taking a toll on my body I decided that I would check in with Elijah on a weekly basis doing so that way the studio scheduling would not drain me any further. I want to go there after my meeting at the studio. I really wanted to talk to him about us.
Or atleast I would if a certain little ditz was not in Elijah’s house right now. Ever since Sarah warned me that Sissy had requested Lily to shadow I knew no good would come from those two being together.
I could still hear Sally’s concerning advice in my head.
“Just try not to let it bother you. I do not want their immature antics upsetting the baby. Or you for that matter.” Sally said as she escorted me to my car after the shoot.
I took a deep sigh. “Yes mom, I promise I won’t let the mean girls pull my hair at school today.” I said. I scrunched my nose at my assistant and friend resulting in her laughing at me and tapping me with her agenda planner.
“I am serious, Ava. Get to the studio and then go straight home and rest.” She said helping me in to the car.
You would think that I am going to be delivering soon the way she is mothering me.
I thought as I buckled myself in and drove off from the set. I wasted no time getting to the Moon Entertainment Studios. I wanted to avoid any run-ins with Sissy or Lily for that matter. I wanted to keep my promise to Sally.
I was happy that the office part of the building was closed for the day, but I was disheartened when I made the wrong turn to Elijah’s office only to find that he was not there.
He must have went home early…with her…
I let out a frustrated groan and headed to the opposite side of the building. I had wasted enough time on silly fantasies. As I head to the office to talk to one of my instructors I have the sudden urge to visit the restrooms.
“Oh come on kiddo just a few minutes,” I say pleading with my pup that is sitting on my bladder. “If you hold out for a few minutes, mommy will get you a puppy…anything.”
I could feel the baby practically stomping on my bladder at this point. Both doctors did warn me about this but experience is completely different than anything I have dealt with. I quickly make my way to e-vac my bladder when I hear something coming from outside the stalls.
“Honestly just when I thought the bitch could sink no lower. That is disgraceful.” A female voice projected her anger and others followed.
“It’s not like I saw it coming either…” I could hear silent sobs from someone in the group.
“You poor thing I cannot believe that you have to deal with her like that.”
That sounds like Lily.
“I would not be so upset with her if she was not the reason why Mr. Connery postponed our engagement.”
“And she said nothing was going on between them..my designer bag!”
“I don’t think he has told me he cared about me or loved me since Ava showed up.” Sissy said. I could tell that it was all an act for the group.
Sissy, what are you playing at?
“You poor thing!” I could hear someone gasp at the false fictitious lies Sissy was spreading.
“I only want his happiness but I feel that she is just playing him to——
I could not take any more of this. I quickly exit out of the stall and head straight for the little liar. I grab her by the arm and yank her out of the restroom.
I ignored all the shouts and yelling behind us. I knew none of those women would follow. They did not care about Sissy’s “safety” especially if I managed to rip her to shreds.
They wanted gossip and more ways to call me out. Sissy was giving them that and more. She does not say a word as I march us to an empty room that no one uses during this time of the day.
I will be damned if she spreads lies like this about me and Elijah. She had only been here a few days and she’s already got me wanting to send her back to the were world.
I slam the door behind me and lock the door.
“Have you completely lost your mind?” I ask. I hissed at the girl as she is picking dirt out of from under her fingernails.
“Hmmm…Whatever do you mind Ava?” I hear the bitch counter.
“Your childish game and lies ends here. Do you understand me?”
I can feel my blood boil at her empty gaze. It was as if she was oblivious to the damage she was causing.
“Games? You might want to be more specific Ava.”
“Do not play like you are stupid! This is my life and my reputation that you are toying with. What ever your issues are those problems are between you and your Alpha; not me! I have nothing to do with your lover’s quarrel!” I shout at the woman.
I had enough of Sissy and she had only been around me today. I do not think I could put up with her for an entire week.
“See that is were you are wrong Ava. You got close to what is MINE!” Sissy growled.
At this point I am tired and agitated with her antics.
“Sissy for the last time there is nothing going on between your Alpha and I. We are friends nothing more. I—
I stopped myself I almost confided in Sissy that my baby was for an Alpha, but I did not trust the little girl in front of me.
“I already know.” Sissy says bluntly.
“What?”
“The whole pack knows that your offspring does not belong to Elijah but that is not my point. I does not matter because you are not with the father of your child. You cling to my Alpha and that has to stop.” Sissy said.
At this point I could not tell if Sissy was angry or sad. Had she and I been friends I would had reassured her of her fears. But I could not.
There were times that Elijah and I crossed the line and could have gone much further, but that was none of Sissy’s business. I wanted comfort but seeking it in Elijah was not fair to anyone including my child.
“You know what Sissy, talk to your Alpha. If you truly want him tell him, because if not someone will got after him. It might not be me but at some point it will happen.”
I turn to walk away leaving Sissy to her thoughts. I halt in the doorway but I do not look back at her.
“Just remember, the Moon Goddess has a way of showing us the difference between our mate and just a simple crush.”
