Chapter 108: Is He Worthy of My Daughter?
"The Ravenous Wolf Legion has been through nine rounds of hardcore training! Yesterday, this badass instructor showed up! His combat skills are off the charts! He taught us this crazy technique! If I can nail it, I might actually become a war god!" Adrian boasted, his mind filled with the image of William. William was the guy Adrian looked up to the most and wanted to be like.
"Really? That's awesome!" Eugene said with a grin. "Colin, congrats in advance!" Colin laughed heartily, and Jasmine was equally impressed. Among their peers, reaching this level was super rare. If it was all about strength, Adrian would be the top pick!
But where was William? Why hadn't he shown up yet? He should see that his peers all had the potential to become war gods! And him? Just a nobody! Jasmine was getting a bit anxious.
"Eugene! Jasmine is also killing it at Rose Corporation! That's a big deal! It's almost as tough as Adrian joining The Ravenous Wolf Legion!" Colin shifted the focus back to Jasmine.
"Both of them are amazing!" Eugene smiled.
"Eugene, do you still stand by what you said back then? If our kids are a boy and a girl, they should get married! I wouldn't have dared to bring this up before, especially when Adrian was just starting his military career and his future was uncertain. But now I think Adrian is worthy of Jasmine! Why not arrange their marriage?" Colin asked the group.
Eugene laughed heartily, "Of course, I agree! How could I refuse such a son-in-law? I'm sure Jasmine wouldn't object either!"
"Dad, this is a bit too sudden!" Jasmine bit her lip. Adrian met all her requirements in every way, but she didn't like him. There was no spark. If it were possible, Adrian would be the first choice now.
Colin quickly said, "It's okay, you can take your time to get to know each other! Let's just set the engagement first!"
"No! I don't agree with this!" Fiona suddenly interrupted. Everyone looked at her in confusion.
"Sorry, Colin, but Jasmine is already engaged!" Fiona explained.
Colin looked puzzled, "When did this happen? Why have I never heard of it?"
"Colin, don't listen to her, it doesn't count! It's the son of a good friend of hers, who is staying with us! Now he wants to marry Jasmine, that's impossible!"
Fiona glared at him, "No! I have already arranged the engagement between William and Jasmine! It can't be invalidated!"
"Him? He thinks he can marry my daughter? How can a nobody compare to Adrian? Tell me!" Colin was furious.
"Fiona, aren't you thinking about what's best for Jasmine? Shouldn't you choose the best for her? Why would you choose William over Adrian? How do they compare?" Eugene's words left Fiona silent. Compared to Adrian, William was completely unqualified.
"Colin, don't worry! Jasmine would never be interested in that nobody! He'll be here for dinner later, and you'll see for yourself."
Colin smiled, "Alright, then I'm relieved!"
Even Adrian was intrigued. Who dared to challenge his engagement? If they were dissatisfied, they could compete! After all, he was satisfied with Jasmine in every way. If the engagement was set, he would definitely comply unconditionally.
Fiona looked worried. This was a disaster. Who would have thought Adrian would be so outstanding? Seeing someone so excellent, Jasmine would definitely look down on William even more.
