Chapter 86 Now You Know What Embarrassment Feels Like?
William's words hit the Watson family right where it hurt.
"Who do you think you are, talking here?"
"This is our family business. How dare an outsider like you butt in?"
They all went off on William.
Fiona stepped in, "Enough! William is my godson. You have no right to boss him around."
The moment Fiona got mad, the Watson family zipped it.
They all depended on Fiona now, and when she spoke, no one dared to argue.
Even Craig signaled everyone to shut up.
Fiona glared at Eugene. "Didn't you want a divorce? Let's go get one."
Eugene stammered, "Fiona, I was just kidding. I just wanted to scare you. I wouldn't really dare to divorce you."
Fiona shot back, "You think divorce is a joke? When you kicked me out, was that a joke too? I took it seriously! Let's go get a divorce."
Eugene was left speechless by Fiona's resolve.
Eugene begged, "Fiona, it's all my fault. Come back, and I'll explain everything, okay?"
"Mom, everyone's watching. Do you want to be a laughingstock? Let's talk about this at home, okay?" Jasmine glanced around, noticing all the eyes on them.
William sneered, "Now you're worried about embarrassment? When you kicked Fiona out, weren't you afraid of being laughed at?"
The Watson family was fuming.
They wanted to lash out at William, but seeing Fiona's cold expression, they all kept quiet.
William looked at the Watson family. "I really don't get you guys. How could you even think about divorce? Whose bright idea was that?"
Only William knew how much Fiona had been through.
He had to let out all the pent-up anger for her.
The Watson family glared at William, seething with rage, especially Craig, Megan, Derek, and Gordon, who looked like they wanted to tear him apart.
They were the ones who suggested the divorce.
If it weren't for Fiona's current status, they would've wanted to kill William.
William went on, "Divorce wasn't a joke. First, you took everything from Fiona, then you kicked her out. It's clear you wanted Fiona and Eugene to split."
Eugene and the others were so angry that they wanted to shut William up because he was just making things worse.
Fiona nodded. "Since the Watson family can't accept me, I'll leave for good and divorce Eugene."
Craig and Megan panicked. "Fiona, you can't do this. Eugene was just being foolish. Eugene, apologize to Fiona immediately."
Fiona was now the key to the Watson family's fortune. They couldn't let her divorce Eugene.
Eugene even slapped himself twice. "Fiona, I'm begging you. It's my fault. I was wrong. I'm sorry!"
To meet the boss of Hope Pharmaceutical, Eugene didn't care about the humiliation.
Eugene slapping himself in front of everyone showed he was serious, and with Jasmine crying her eyes out beside him, Fiona's heart softened a bit. Just as Fiona was about to speak, William pulled her back.
William asked, "Is this just his issue? Who came up with the idea of divorce?"
Fiona nodded. "Yeah, I want to know too."
The Watson family exchanged nervous glances.
Everyone looked at Craig and Megan.
If those two hadn't brought it up, who would dare mention divorce?
In a panic, Craig pushed Derek and Gordon forward. "Fiona, it's all their fault. They suggested the divorce. What a couple of idiots!"
Megan also cursed, "How did I raise such useless children? Hurry up and apologize to Fiona!"
Derek and Gordon looked miserable.
But to stop Fiona from divorcing, they had to take the blame.
