Chapter 89 I Don't Like Jasmine

Eugene quickly blurted out, "No, Fiona, I'm sorry. Let's drop this for now."

Craig nodded in agreement. This was something they needed to handle carefully.

With Fiona around, they'd eventually get to meet the big boss at Hope Pharmaceutical.

But Fiona's high-and-mighty attitude was really ticking off the Watson family.

Craig and Megan were fuming. 'Does Fiona even care about us? She's out of control. But we gotta suck it up for now. Once we get what we want, she won't be so cocky.'

Craig suggested, "If there's nothing else, we're outta here."

But Fiona interrupted, "Hold on, since we're all here, I've got an announcement."

Everyone turned to look. "What is it?"

Fiona declared, "I've decided to marry Jasmine to William. To fulfill the engagement I made with Eden."

Everyone was floored.

Jasmine and William were both in shock. "What? Fulfill the engagement?"

William thought Fiona was just toying with the idea, but he didn't expect her to be serious.

Jasmine immediately protested, "Mom, I don't agree."

Eugene quickly chimed in, "Fiona, you can't be serious. William isn't good enough for Jasmine."

In high society, they cared about matching social status, and usually, the guy should be more powerful.

Now, Eugene felt Jasmine could aim higher. After all, Fiona was now a big shot at Hope Pharmaceutical.

Jasmine's background had leveled up. Plus, Jasmine worked at Rose Corporation, and her future was bright. So Jasmine's husband couldn't just be any rich kid from Starlight City. They weren't good enough for Jasmine, let alone William.

Fiona stood firm, "I think William is perfect. This engagement is happening. No one can stop me."

Fiona had always remembered Xavier mentioning the engagement, but never found the right moment to bring it up.

Jasmine pleaded, "Grandpa, Grandma, you have to back me up!"

But this time, Craig said they'd go along with Fiona and it wasn't their call.

After all, they still needed to stay on Fiona's good side.

Jasmine was furious but stuck.

"I'll go along with it!" Eugene, thinking he still needed Fiona to meet the boss of Hope Pharmaceutical, reluctantly agreed.

At that moment, William spoke up. "Fiona, there's no need. I don't like Jasmine. You don't have to arrange this engagement."

Everyone was stunned.

William didn't want to? Was he kidding?

Eugene was ticked off. 'That's my daughter, and people are lining up for her!'

Fiona was also surprised. William didn't want to? That didn't make sense.

Delia's eyes lit up. 'William doesn't like Jasmine? Awesome!'

When Jasmine first heard William didn't want to, she was secretly pleased. But she quickly snapped back. 'Why should you be the one to refuse? It should be me refusing you. You don't like me? William, you're so fake.'

That was how a woman's mind worked.

If a man showered her with attention, she would be indifferent, but if he ignored her, she would feel unsettled.

After all, who could refuse Jasmine as their wife? William was the first, so Jasmine was extremely unhappy.

Jasmine directly challenged, "William, who do you think you are? What right do you have to refuse me?"

William was most annoyed by this. "I refuse the engagement, isn't that what you wanted?"
