Chapter 285 Sending Away Outsiders!
Fiona felt she should have seen this coming a mile away.
For a while, she'd even thought about marrying her daughter off to William.
But looking back now, it was laughably naive.
If she had forced Jasmine to marry William, Jasmine would never have been happy, and might have been miserable for the rest of her life.
By then, it would be too late for regrets.
Eugene looked relieved, his tone light. "Finally, we won't have to see that eyesore anymore! Now my daughter can choose someone she actually likes!"
Fiona waved her hand, her expression complicated. "Alright, everyone, get some rest. We have to see William off in the morning."
Jasmine beamed. "I bet I'll be too excited to sleep tonight!"
As Fiona walked down the hallway, she paused in front of William's door.
If only you had just tried a little harder, if you weren't so stubborn and rebellious, life would be completely different now.
Xavier would acknowledge you as a member of the Davis family, and Jasmine, such an outstanding girl, would marry you.
You would be a big shot in Starlight City's elite circles, getting whatever you wanted.
But you insisted on maintaining that aloof and arrogant demeanor.
It's fine to be proud, but you need to have the strength to back it up!
You have nothing, so you can only live an ordinary life.
This means you will face a life that is worlds apart from what you once imagined—from paradise to the ground.
Thinking of this, Fiona's guilt gradually faded.
She had done everything she could; this was all William's own choice.
That night, Jasmine didn't sleep at all.
She was too excited to sleep, constantly messaging and video calling Cassidy and Ella, keeping everyone awake.
It was probably the most exciting and happiest night she could remember.
Even more thrilling than when she got hired by Rose Corporation.
Fiona didn't sleep well either.
She got up at dawn but stayed hidden in her bedroom, unwilling to come out.
She couldn't bear to say goodbye to William in person, afraid she wouldn't be able to control her emotions.
"Mom, just stay in your room. We'll see him off!"
Jasmine was actually relieved, worried her mom might change her mind at the last minute.
To see off this "burden," Craig brought the whole family over early in the morning.
In reality, they were there to celebrate.
They had long harbored resentment towards this outsider, fearing he might take a share of the Watson family's wealth or even marry Jasmine.
Now that William was leaving, they couldn't wait to pop the champagne and celebrate.
Everyone crowded around William's door, impatiently waiting.
"What's taking him so long?"
Just then, William emerged, having fully absorbed the Magical Ice Energy, feeling refreshed.
His goal of repaying Fiona was accomplished, and the Magical Ice Energy was used up—he was ready to leave the Watson Mansion.
Seeing the crowd of dozens at the door, his brows furrowed.
"He's out!"
Someone in the crowd shouted excitedly.
Jasmine stepped forward. "By the way, my mom didn't dare to see you off in person. She's staying in her room. We'll see you off!"
William was slightly taken aback. "Alright, tell Fiona I'll come back to visit her when I can."
"Sure!"
Jasmine nodded.
William added, "And if Fiona runs into any trouble or difficulties, tell her to reach out to me right away. I'll handle it…"
He only cared about Fiona; the rest of the Watson family meant nothing to him.
At this, Craig and the others nearly burst out laughing.
What a joke!
If the head of Hope Pharmaceutical had any trouble, would they need a nobody like you to handle it?
Do you have any idea of your own capabilities?
Absolutely ridiculous!
Eugene and Jasmine struggled to keep from laughing, barely holding it in.
