Chapter 92 The People Who Came to Steal the Ancient Prescription
Fiona blurted out, "Hurry up and let them in."
William frowned. The Merchants' Guild of Shadows showing up now? That couldn't be good.
Fiona sighed, "The pharmaceutical market in Starlight City is too small for the Merchants' Guild of Shadows to care about. Otherwise, we wouldn't have lasted this long."
She was clearly nervous about the Merchants' Guild of Shadows.
After all, they were the real power in Starlight City.
Soon, three members of the Merchants' Guild of Shadows arrived: two men and a woman, all in suits, exuding an air of superiority.
Fiona stood up. "Welcome, I'm handling things for Hope Pharmaceutical right now."
The three of them sized up Fiona, and the woman among them asked coldly, "Are you Fiona?"
Fiona nodded. "Yes, that's me."
The woman continued, "Fiona, you've got some nerve! You knew we were coming, yet you didn't come down to greet us yourself and sent some nobody instead? Seems like you don't take the Merchants' Guild of Shadows seriously."
Fiona was immediately scared.
She couldn't handle such an accusation.
Even though Hope Pharmaceutical was big in Starlight City, it was nothing compared to the Merchants' Guild of Shadows.
In fact, they weren't even afraid of Rose Corporation. This was their turf, after all.
But their attitude was already getting on William's nerves.
"William." Seeing William about to lose it, Fiona tried to calm him down.
She quickly explained, "No, I was just handling some matters. I'm sorry for the oversight, please forgive us."
The woman spoke domineeringly, "You were never qualified to greet us. Remember, we need the owner of Hope Pharmaceutical to come out and greet us. Where is the boss? Hurry up and get them out here! You are not qualified to receive us."
Fiona smiled apologetically. "Sorry, our boss isn't available. Only I can meet you. But I can make decisions on most matters of Hope Pharmaceutical."
The woman said, "Alright, if you can make decisions, that's fine. Let us introduce ourselves. We are assistants to Gerald, one of the eight directors of the Merchants' Guild of Shadows."
"Alice Collins."
"Jared Martin."
"Gabriel Allen."
Fiona quickly responded, "Nice to meet you. Please, have a seat."
After they sat down, Alice got straight to the point. "We're here to let you know that Hope Pharmaceutical is allowed to join the Merchants' Guild of Shadows."
Fiona's face immediately changed.
As expected, the Merchants' Guild of Shadows didn't come with good intentions.
It sounded like a great deal, but really, they wanted to take over Hope Pharmaceutical.
Before, the pharmaceutical market in Starlight City wasn't big enough to catch their eye.
But now, with three complete versions of ancient prescriptions, it was enough to get their attention.
Alice and the other two looked at Fiona with cold, arrogant eyes, as if to say, "It's your honor that we're letting you join, don't be ungrateful."
The Merchants' Guild of Shadows was too arrogant.
First, the real big shots didn't even show up, just sent a few assistants.
They were bossy and didn't take anyone seriously.
William had been frowning the whole time but said nothing.
Fiona asked, "I wonder if the joining you mentioned is nominal or something else?"
Jared immediately laughed and said, "What do you think? Of course, it's not nominal Joining the Merchants' Guild of Shadows means you have to hand over the three ancient prescriptions unconditionally. Wouldn't it be great for everyone to share these and make money together? Hope Pharmaceutical, fully operated by the Merchants' Guild of Shadows, has a brighter future."
Fiona's face had already turned very unpleasant.
They were blatantly trying to steal the three ancient prescriptions.
If she joined the Merchants' Guild of Shadows, she would immediately become a puppet controlled by them.
