Chapter 289 Meeting Again, Treating as Strangers!

Jessica was about to blow a gasket.

She had counted on using William's status to climb the ladder to wealth and luxury.

And now?

This loser had actually been kicked out by the Watson family!

To her, William instantly became worthless.

Jessica was the ultimate gold-digger—when William had status and power, she was all over him, but now that he had nothing, he was no better than trash in her eyes.

In fact, Jessica's perspective was even more short-sighted than someone like Jasmine.

At least Jasmine would take her time to observe and evaluate William's abilities and character, but Jessica couldn't be bothered with any of that.

Ironically, even though William had left the Watson Mansion, Fiona was still his godmother—their relationship wasn't completely severed, and he could still be valuable. But Jessica was completely oblivious to this.

She only cared about immediate benefits. She was furious that William had the nerve to come to her house after his downfall—clearly, he was just looking for a free ride! No way was her family going to support a loser!

"William..."

The Ward couple couldn't get a word in edgewise as Jessica's words came out like a machine gun.

"I knew it! You showed up at our house yesterday to set things up! You knew you were going to get kicked out by the Watson family, didn't you?"

"So you planned this all along! Couldn't make it on your own, so you thought you'd freeload off us? Let me tell you, that's not happening! My family doesn't support deadbeats!"

"I'm just being realistic! When you had money and connections, I treated you well; but now that you have nothing, I want nothing to do with you!"

"Since you're no longer Fiona's godson, don't blame me for being ruthless! You can't stay in our house! Leave now, or else!"

The Ward couple's faces turned dark with anger, feeling utterly humiliated by their daughter.

Kieran finally couldn't take it anymore and slapped Jessica across the face.

"You've ruined our family's reputation!"

Jessica held her cheek, ready to argue, "Dad, was I wrong? I—"

As soon as she opened her mouth, Kieran slapped her again.

After several slaps, Jessica finally didn't dare to speak anymore, just lowering her head and crying.

"Alright, I've made up my mind—William will stay with us! We'll live together from now on!"

Kieran turned to William, "We'll help you find a job. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just something stable."

Ruby nodded, "We can even help you find a girlfriend..."

The Ward couple's kindness and generosity touched William deeply.

"Mr. Ward, Mrs. Ward, I—"

"It's okay, just listen to our arrangements. She doesn't get to decide!"

Jessica just sobbed quietly, not daring to say another word.

"William, let's go out for lunch together! We'll find a nice restaurant in the city to celebrate!"

Kieran said with a smile.

"Uh, sure..."

William agreed.

Of course, he didn't plan to actually stay with Kieran's family, but he could at least join them for lunch.

Meanwhile, Bob drove back to the city.

"Where did he go?" Jasmine asked.

It turned out Bob was a driver Jasmine had arranged to follow William and see where he would go after leaving.

"He went to Lakeview Heights."

Bob replied.

"Oh, I see."

Jasmine had looked into it and knew that Kieran's family lived in Lakeview Heights.

So, William hadn't left Starlight City after all; he was just staying with Kieran's family for the time being.

Living an ordinary life could be nice, but she feared he still had lingering feelings for the Watson family, never quite understanding his place and abilities.

Jasmine smiled.

From now on, she would make sure William never returned to their circle, and she would avoid seeing him as much as possible—even if they did meet, she would treat him like a stranger.
