Chapter 78 Just Wait and See
Victor leaned back and said, "Their reach is everywhere in Starlight City. They're like, totally embedded in everyone's lives."
He shot a look at Aaron. "Tick off Aaron, and you might end up homeless. But mess with the Merchants' Guild of Shadows? You won't even see it coming."
Aaron nodded. "Exactly. Especially if you're new or just starting out. If you don't pay your respects to the Merchants' Guild of Shadows, you're toast."
William chuckled. "Guess I'll just skip that visit then."
Merchants' Guild of Shadows? What a joke!
Fiona, shaking off her usual gloom, was back to her strong, confident self, especially after changing her outfit.
She'd been through so much, and finally, it was her time to shine.
William suited up too, making Delia's eyes light up. This was the powerful CEO she admired.
William grinned. "Fiona, let's roll. Got a surprise for you."
He took them straight to Hope Pharmaceutical.
When Fiona saw the massive building, way bigger than her old office, she was floored.
William smiled. "Fiona, this is all yours now."
Fiona couldn't stop trembling.
Inside, everything was running smoothly, and the company was already buzzing.
She spotted some familiar faces. "Isla? What are you all doing here?"
These were her loyal team members from Fisher Pharmaceutical.
After the Watson family took over Fisher Pharmaceutical, they were all let go.
She never expected to see them here.
They were thrilled. "Ms. Fisher, we're back together!"
William had arranged it all.
To keep Hope Pharmaceutical going, he brought in everyone the Watson family had kicked out.
On the surface, it was Rose Corporation running things, but behind the scenes, it was Fiona's old crew keeping it all together.
Fiona turned to William, her eyes shining. "William, thank you."
William grinned. "Don't thank me yet. This is just the start. Wait till you see the real surprise."
In the plaza outside Hope Pharmaceutical, which could hold thousands, hundreds of media outlets were set up.
Guests started arriving one by one.
Timothy and a bunch of medical experts walked in together.
When he found out they were just as clueless, Timothy relaxed.
He figured some big shot was trying to break into the pharmaceutical game.
Once they realized they couldn't hack it, they'd bail.
They needed ancient prescriptions to make it in this industry; money alone wouldn't cut it.
Timothy had two ancient prescriptions, so he wasn't worried about these newcomers.
Soon, Eugene, Jasmine, and Craig showed up.
Eugene looked around and saw a bunch of unfamiliar faces at Hope Pharmaceutical.
He had the same thought as Timothy: someone was trying to break into the pharmaceutical industry.
In the past, many big shots from out of town had tried to take over the market, but none lasted more than three months.
They either got taken down by Eugene or Timothy.
Craig suddenly remembered the divorce. "Hey, Eugene, has Fiona reached out to you yet?"
Eugene shook his head.
Megan sneered, "Fiona's probably regretting it but too proud to ask you directly. How about you call her later, bring up the divorce again, and put her in her place?"
Eugene nodded. "Sure thing."
He was still mad at Fiona for standing up for William.
Eugene decided to use the divorce to scare her.
All the guests had arrived, and the place was packed.
Suddenly, there were gasps from the crowd. "Even the Jones family, who've been in medicine for generations, are here."
Timothy and Eugene rushed over to greet them.
The Jones family was the only family in Starlight City specializing in medical research.
