Chapter 220 All Are Invalid Numbers!
Jasmine tried calling Caspian and the others on their personal phones.
[Sorry, the number you have dialed is not in service…]
The same message!
All of the numbers were out of service!
She couldn't reach a single one of them!
Jasmine felt like she had been struck by lightning.
Her phone slipped from her hand and fell to the ground.
Fiona was in the same boat.
She couldn't reach anyone from the Merchants' Guild of Shadows either.
Or rather, it was as if their contact information never existed.
Everyone's faces turned pale with fear, beads of sweat rolling down their foreheads.
Just then, Fiona's phone rang.
It was Manuel calling.
Fiona and the others were overjoyed.
If Manuel was calling, that meant everything was fine.
Maybe they were just delayed?
"Hey, Ms. Fisher, what's going on?"
Manuel asked, sounding puzzled.
Fiona forced a smile and asked, "Mr. Brown, where are you guys? The signing ceremony was supposed to start already! We're all waiting, including Kurt!"
"What signing ceremony?" Manuel's response left Fiona stunned.
"Mr. Brown, don't joke around! The signing ceremony for Hope Pharmaceutical joining the Merchants' Guild of Shadows!"
Fiona quickly explained.
But Manuel sounded even more surprised, "Is that a thing? I have no idea what you're talking about!"
Oh no! Fiona's face changed dramatically at his words.
"Mr. Brown, you must be joking!"
"Fiona, what are you talking about? Do we even know each other well enough for jokes?"
Manuel's reply made Fiona's heart sink.
"Mr. Brown, come on! You were the one who organized this! You negotiated the deal, and we handed over all of Hope Pharmaceutical's products to you. We even opened up the market in Sunview City together…"
Manuel laughed coldly, "Fiona, are you out of your mind? I've never even met you! Let alone negotiated any deals! How dare you accuse me like this?"
Fiona and everyone else who heard this felt like their heads were about to explode.
This was bad!
Manuel was denying everything!
They had handed over three ancient formulas and products worth three billion dollars!
If the Merchants' Guild of Shadows refused to acknowledge the deal, Hope Pharmaceutical would be ruined.
Eugene was on the verge of tears.
Was he about to lose his position in the Merchants' Guild of Shadows just like that?
Fiona forced herself to stay calm.
Wait! They had contracts!
They couldn't just deny everything!
Fiona quickly said, "Mr. Brown, you can deny it all you want, but we have signed contracts with the Merchants' Guild of Shadows! You can't get out of this!"
Manuel chuckled, "Contracts? Did I sign them?"
"This…" Fiona hesitated, breaking out in a cold sweat.
Thinking back, although Manuel had been involved in the entire process, he hadn't signed any of the contracts himself.
"It wasn't you, but Caspian and the others signed them! It's the same thing! The Merchants' Guild of Shadows can't escape this!"
Fiona felt confident with the two contracts in hand.
"Are you sure about that? Caspian and the others have been abroad for the past six months. They just got back today! Who did you sign the contracts with?"
Manuel's words made Fiona feel like she was going to vomit blood.
Were they really going to deny everything?
Caspian and the others were abroad?
What a joke!
The contracts had their signatures and the Merchants' Guild of Shadows' seal. There was no way they could get out of this!
"Besides, those three representing the Merchants' Guild of Shadows to sign contracts? You should check your facts. They aren't even employees of the Merchants' Guild of Shadows!"
Manuel's next words shattered Fiona's composure completely.
