Chapter 106

"Nina, let's drink! Don't be shy!" Depney said as she poured beer into a glass and handed it to Nina who sat in the middle with a nervous smile. 




At first Nina thought that only Depney, Colin, Jean, Daniel and Kerry would be joining the crew tonight. But it turns out that more than half came. Except for a few people who couldn't attend because there were other events, including the captain whose face was not visible. 




Seeing her new colleagues gather and having fun together after work is a new sight for Nina. But there was only one problem, she was not used to drinking like this and she was confused about how to refuse it. 




"Why don't you drink it? Maybe you're not a good drinker, are you?" Asked Kerry whose face was already starting to blush. 




"Kerry, what are you talking about? Of course, because Nina is still shy. Nina, right?" Asked Jean who sat beside Nina and kept trying to engage her in conversation. 




"Um...that, I'm not used to drinking and I'm a terrible drinker. So, can I have a soda instead?" She asked a little embarrassed for acting like a child who had just seen the outside world. 




"Jeez, why didn't you tell me? Ok, I'll get you a soda!" Depney, who always has the initiative, immediately got up from her place and approached the bar only to order a glass of soda for her new partner. 




While Depney is gone, this is an opportunity for Jean to launch his mode of action in approaching women. Jean acts cool by drinking more to look more macho, but he is actually a terrible drinker.

"So, about my question this morning. Do you have a boyfriend?" 




"Hey...hey...come on, Jean! You start again!" Said Kerry, giving him a sick look every time Jean acted cool in front of the girls.

"Ahahaha...crazy seduction? But you got carried away, right? Come on, Kerry. Don't be so shy!"

"Wow...how rude, but I like it!" Jean winked coquettishly to spread his love to Kerry who looked nauseous at his behavior. 




"What are you doing? Don't make Nina uncomfortable with your behavior!" Depney, who had just returned from ordering a soda, came in like a mother cat afraid of predators for her kittens. 




"Why come back so soon? Go there, sit somewhere else!" Jean said disappointed. 




"What are you talking about? You just go there!" 




"You unattractive old woman!" 




"What did you say? I'm only 33 years old, what's old? Your mouth is going to be stuffed with toilet paper, huh?" Shouted Depney, pulling Jean's shirt collar and shaking him. 




"Ahahaha...just beat him! Beat him!" Instead of intervening, everyone just heated up the debate. Unknowingly, Nina laughed at the familiarity of all of them. 




"Hoi, four eyes!" Between the laughs, came a deep and cold voice that felt familiar to their ears. 




All of a sudden everyone fell silent and immediately turned to the source of the voice, behind them, the gloomy-faced captain appeared with an even more frightening expression. The dark circles under his eyes were more obvious than before. 




"Gavin, what's wrong?" Asked Depney as she let go of Jean's shirt and pushed him, so he almost fell off his chair. 




"You didn't reply to my message, I asked you to send me the accountability attachment today!" 




"Oh really?" Depney immediately checked her cellphone and realized that there was an incoming message from someone who very rarely sends and replies to other people's messages if it is not important to her. 




"Gavin, are you still texting? Why don't you change your cell phone? It's so out of date!" 




"You just do what I ask! send it right now to my email!" He said sarcastically as he walked away. 




"Oh my gosh!" Depney said, taking a deep breath and exhaling it slowly while returning to her seat. 




Depney was forced to open her laptop just to fulfill orders from the annoying captain who couldn't be resisted. 




"Can't it be delivered tomorrow?" Nina asked. 




"You know? If he says now, it means right now!" 




"But this isn't our work schedule anymore, it should have been postponed. It's just an accountability report, right?" 




"Maybe for us this report sounds trivial, but Gavin doesn't think like that. He really doesn't like procrastinating work even though his body actually needs rest!" 




"He's too loyal to the company!" 




"Yes!" 




"But, why isn't Captain Gavin joining us?" Asked Nina curiously. 




"It's simple, he doesn't like to drink!"

Nina sat up on her bed, the day seemed very long and she arrived home at 9.00 pm. Nina who initially felt awkward, eventually started talking a lot to get to know her colleagues better. 




"Ugh...so tired...!" She muttered as she threw her body on the bed.

"Oh... Aiden! I forgot to tell him!" Nina hurriedly took out her cell phone from her bag. She could tell that this was not the first call from Aiden today. 




"Hello, Aiden?" 




"Why just appointed?" Aiden asked, sounding irritated. 




"I just got home!" 




"Just got home? Why didn't you tell me so I can pick you up?" 




"No need, just now after work, my colleagues asked me out for a quick drink, so-" 




"Alcohol? You went out drinking without telling me first?" 




"Yeah, sorry I forgot!" 




"It's easy for you to say you forgot? Was it that easy for you to forget me?" 




"That's not it, Aiden! Come on!" 




"Then, is there some shameless person trying to seduce you?"

"Oh my, is it still discussed too?" She thought that she couldn't stop thinking about her boyfriend.
