Chapter 16

Aiden kept looking at Nina who unexpectedly could act cute in front of his friends. Nina who felt that Aiden was always watching her, glanced at him. The telepathy between them begins with indistinct eye movements and they actually don't understand them at all. 

"Ah... I want to go to the toilet first. Miss Nina, for a moment okay?" Julian said while getting up from his place. 

"Yes please, you know where the toilet is? Do I need to take you?"

"What's she talking about?" Aiden thought who still pretended not to care about the teasing activity in front of his eyes. 

"Hehe...that's fine, you don't mind being accompanied either!" Julian said who was getting provoked. 

"But unfortunately I'm at work, next time okay?" Nina showed a cute smile like a cafe maid in a fantasy world, making Julian's chest rumble even more. 

"Okay, I'll wait!" Julian walked backwards so Nina's face would not disappear from his sight. Meanwhile, Nina who seemed to be quite skilled at snaring men, kept smiling while waving her hand until Julian's form was no longer visible. 

"Wow...well...you are really great predator?" Aiden said with a chuckle. 

"What is your problem?" 

"It turns out that an innocent face doesn't prove an innocent soul, does it?" 

"Does my face look innocent? Besides, why do you keep looking at me? Are you jealous that your friend teases me?" 

"What? Are you really crazy, aren't you? Reduce your overconfidence. I just thought you must have a dirty plan!" 

"Dirty plan or not, has absolutely nothing to do with you. The important thing is I can repay my debt to you!" 

"I knew that was your plan! Wow... how rotten your mind is!" 

"By the way, what job is your friend? Is he a CEO?" 

"I have no obligation to answer it," 

"Just answer what's so difficult?" 

"I don't want you to use my friends to carry out your ambitions!" 

"What ambition? I just want to repay what I owe you. If he's wealthy, 15 thousand dollars won't be big for him." 

Aiden took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. For some reason, his body, soul and mind always feel tired every time he meets this woman. He used to think that the bad luck in his life was over since he decided to go on a strict diet to shape his current body, leave his hometown in Alberta, go to college and meet new people in New York and become a top super model. 

It felt like this was his first bad luck after the many blessings and luck he had received since the last few years of his life. It seems, the saying that life is like a spinning wheel is very true. Aiden is not likely to receive convenience and good luck all the time. 

"Aiden, why are you silent? Answer my previous question before your friend comes back!" Nina insisted who was getting impatient. 

"Okay, I'll tell you the truth. My friend is named Julian Ludwig Frederick and he is the main heir of one of the largest construction companies in Canada." 

"Canada? So, your friend is Canadian? I thought he was German," 

"Eh... how about that? Uhm...h-he-" He answered doubtfully, his brain was thinking hard. 

"How about this? To think she would ask such details?" Aideb thought.

"Yeah...the point is he's of Germany, I don't really know!" He replied. What a lousy lie to come out of the mouth of someone who is so hard to lie to. 

"Is that so? So he's the main heir. If so, one day he will replace his father's position, right?" 

"Yes, it's possible!" 

"Hmm...very interesting.Then, I have a great chance to get close to him. Great, life in the style of a romantic novel doesn't seem impossible. What do you think I should do with him?" 

"Yeah...how about it? It's up to you!" 

"How are his parents? Are they good or not? His mother is a fierce old woman who doesn't agree that her child is in a relationship with a poor woman, isn't she?" 

"How do I know! Why do you ask me like that?" 

Suddenly, the tv hanging in the corner of the cafe that originally broadcast the weekly talk show, changed to an infotainment program. 

"A woman fell on her back after hitting a guardrail at a New York fashion show," Said a news anchor. Hearing the headlines, the cafe visitors, who were initially busy with their own activities, immediately opened their eyes and ears, and one of the waitresses even turned up the volume of the TV. 

"What's that?" The voices of curious cafe visitors began to be heard while watching the video of the appearance of a woman who fell in the middle of this prestigious event. 

Nina and Aiden who were watching the news were silent for a moment, a few moments later, they had different reactions. Aiden laughed at the ridiculous scene that he actually couldn't forget, especially since it hadn't happened 24 hours ago and it was still very fresh in his memory. 

"Hahaha..." Aideb laughed, instead of staring at the tv screen, he preferred to look at this woman's ridiculous face when she saw herself making national and perhaps international news. 

"I just want to die!" Nina muttered who stood transfixed watching herself and what was more embarrassing, the video when she fell and pulled the expensive dress was really recorded clearly. 

"Hahahaha...oh my goodness, if I were you, I'd rather die!" Aiden said, which further provoked her already shaken mentality. 

"How is this? My friends on campus will know, I'm finished!" She muttered sadly. 

"That's your problem! Congratulations on becoming a famous person, right? Even if it's only for a moment, you should just use it for profit," 

"Like what?" 

"Yes, like you open an endorsement to collect the coffers of wealth that you really want!" 

"That's right! Why don't I just take advantage of this momentary fame, huh?" 

"Hey, I was just kidding! Don't take it seriously!" 

"No, you're right, Aiden! Opportunities like this don't happen often, right? So, don't waste it!" She said as she stepped. 

"Where are you going ?" He shouted. 

"I'm going to the kitchen!" She said who moved very quickly whenever she thought of money. 

"I haven't ordered coffee yet!" 

"Call another maid!" 

"Damn it! If it was someone else, it would have been reported to the manager of this deed." 

A few minutes later, Julian who had just returned from the toilet, made a confused face. Seeing him like that made Aiden feel bad. 

"Where is Miss Nina? Have you ordered coffee?" Asked Julian with a bitter smile. 

"It's gone! I'm waiting for you, what would you like to order?" 

"Just an Americano! I have something to ask you!" 

"What?" 

"You think if I ask her out, she'll turn me down or not?" 

"You doubt it?" 

"Yeah, how about it? If later she asks me to buy expensive things, I'll be in trouble. Working as an ordinary office worker, what luxury can I buy?" Julian said and even worse, he confidently said that he was a rich man. 

Aiden took another sip of water in his glass, not because he was thirsty, but because he was worried because it seemed that he had been involved in other people's love affairs. The reason? of course because of the lie that Aiden told Nina 12 minutes ago.
