Chapter 70

Emily looked at the watch on her hand, it was already 5.00 pm. The thing that annoys her is when she has been waiting for someone for quite a while, but the person casually cancels the appointment. 

She knows that this promise is for her own sake, but she still doesn't accept being treated disrespectfully like this. 

"Tsk damn, even though I already arrived at this cafe. Why cancel the appointment?" She muttered. Even though she was annoyed, but because she had already entered and ordered a table. She was forced to sit for a while and enjoy a cup of coffee to calm her soul. 

"Okay Miss, order one cappuccino. I'll deliver it soon!" Said the cafe maid. 

"Yes!" Emily took a deep breath. Her thoughts and feelings have been very chaotic lately. 

Busy work schedule, not to mention she has to think about the huge cost of caring for his father. In addition, love problems are still far from what she expected. 

Aiden that's the name that keeps coming to mind. How to get his heart back? This time, it looks like it won't be easy. Not only Samantha, the talented designer who has many admirers who becomes her rival. But also Nina, the ordinary student who is even more able to attract Aiden's attention. 

Emily raised her head and cast her gaze forward. In the far left corner of the table, she could see the back of a man who for some reason made her think of Aiden. 

However, the man was not alone. In front of him, sat a beautiful woman who smiled while chatting with him. When the man turned to the side, his face made her sure that the man was Aiden. 

"Aiden? Who is that girl?" She thought. Judging from their body language, it was clear that they had known each other for a long time and they also seemed close. Emily immediately had a bad thought, it's rare for Aiden to talk like that with a woman. 

"Tch, that sucks! Why are there always women around him? Can't be allowed to!" Emily got up and immediately walked over to Aiden's table. Finding out who the woman he was with was all that was on her mind. 

"Aiden!" She said with a smile. Aiden who was surprised, immediately looked at Emily who was standing nearby. 

"Oh, hi?" 

"What a coincidence that we meet here! Uhm...hi, I'm Emily. Aiden's partner in the fashion world, nice to meet you!" She said while holding out her hand to Cindy. 

"Oh hi, I'm Cindy. Aiden's childhood friend. Nice to meet you too!" 

"Aiden's friend? Wow... Aiden, you're so lucky." 

"Who did you come with?" Aiden asked. 

"Should have been with friends, but when I arrived, he suddenly said he couldn't come. So I was alone, then I saw you were here!" 

"Then, just join in, won't you Aiden?" 

"Yes, that's fine!" 

"Okay, thanks for the offer!" Emily said happily. She immediately took a place beside Aiden and acted as if they were very close to each other. 

"So, you have a very beautiful friend. You guys have really been friends since childhood?" 

"Ah...no, we met when we were in elementary school. After graduating from school, my family and I moved to Sweden. So, you could say we only met when we were little!" 

"Is that so? So, do you work in New York or-" 

"I work in a company, because I was stationed in New York, so it's only been a month since I settled here." Cindy continued to answer question after question that Emily asked with a bit of nervousness, as if she was being interrogated. Even though she was smiling, Aiden could feel that Cindy was a little uncomfortable. 

"Aiden, I heard that you and Samantha are already in a relationship. Is that true?" Emily asked. I don't know what was on her mind to ask such an inappropriate question. 

"Samantha?" Cindy who seemed curious, spontaneously said that name. 

"Where did you hear that from?" Aiden asked coldly. 

"Yeah I heard from someone, I thought a rumor like that would spread quickly. I didn't believe it at first, that's why I asked you directly." 

Aiden tried to contain his anger. To be honest, he really didn't want to remember let alone discuss his relationship with Samantha. He really didn't want that, but if the news could spread so fast. Most likely someone was spreading it on purpose and the person he suspected the most was Samantha. 

"Did Samantha say that?" 

"Uhm... maybe-" 

"Okay, Cindy. I'll go home now. I'll take you home too!" 

"Okay, but-!" 

"What's the rush? Do you want to see Samantha?" 

"I don't think it's any of your business, come on Cindy!" He said while getting up from his place. Seeing Aiden looking annoyed, Cindy felt something was wrong and for some reason, Emily's presence was the cause. 

"Aiden, I think you better be careful. Because now there are a lot of cameras following you!" Emily said with a cynical smile.

"Sorry for what happened earlier, you must feel uncomfortable!" Aiden said, right after his car stopped in front of the apartment building where Cindy lived. 

"It's okay, I understand. It's hard being famous, huh? You can't meet just anyone!" 

"Not really. Okay, then have a good rest! If anything happens, call me, got it?" 

"Okay I understand, thank you. Bye?" Cindy waved as Aiden's car drove away. 

There was an emptiness that he felt, when the face disappeared from his eyes. In fact, this was the first time Cindy felt calmer since she settled in New York. There were many things Cindy wanted to tell, but apparently, the situation was not yet possible. 

Meanwhile, Aiden who had just arrived at his apartment, immediately lay down on the sofa while touching his head which felt dizzy. For some reason he felt that Emily was deliberately discussing such things in front of Cindy. 

He didn't care one bit if his one-sided fling with Samantha would eventually become public consumption and he didn't care about that. But what annoyed him, if there is someone who interfered too much with the problems he faced. 

At a time like this, the banana girl's annoying face immediately appeared in his mind. It hasn't been a day since they saw each other, but he already feels homesick. He needs Nina right now, yes, really does. 

"Tsk what's wrong? I'm busy?" Nina's voice sounded annoyed because Aiden suddenly called her. 

"What are you doing?" 

"Working on assignments, what's up?" 

"Why is there a man voice? Who is it?" 

"None of your business! If there's no need, I-" 

"Don't turn it off! Just be careful if you dare to do it! Who is that man with you?" 

"My friend, we are working on a group assignment." 

"Just the two of you?" 

"No, there are six of us. What's wrong?" 

"Nothing. Never mind! when are you done?" 

"Erm... looks like it's about to finish, uh...I'm so tired today. I want to go home and just sleep!" 

"Hey I miss you, can we meet?" 

"Oh my God, Leo. We just met this morning. Miss you already?" 

"Noisy! When you're done, tell me. Let me pick you up!" 

"Are you serious? Treat me to a meal, please!" 

"Okay, what do you want to eat?" 

"Are you serious? Wow well, how generous you are. What's happen?" 

"Nothing! I just miss you."
