Chapter 77

Nina stared at the ceiling while taking a deep breath, she didn't expect it would be this hard to let Aiden go with another woman, even if it was just a party. 

Aiden who left 20 minutes ago can only hope that he will pass this night easily, he wants nothing more than to spend time with the people he loves. 

"Thank you for actually coming!" Samatha said. She smiled sweetly when she saw was standing in front of her door. 

"Can we go now?" 

"Sure, I'm ready too!" Samantha immediately grabbed Aiden's hand so they could walk side by side to the car. 

After opening the car door and ushering Samantha in like a gentleman, Aiden headed straight for the driver's seat with a straight face. Samantha chuckled, seeing Aiden's slightly gloomy expression. Shows that he was really forced to do all this. 

"So, you're really not having an event with Nina tonight?" 

"Why are you asking something that will definitely upset you? Wouldn't it be better if you didn't need to know?" 

"You know, Aiden? Even though I'll be angry and hurt by your honesty, it's still better than me having to keep believing that you love me as much as I love you. That lie, even though it sounds sweet, will turn into a deadly poison in the end." 

"Why don't you just love a man who loves you?" 

"I'd rather fight for my dream than have to be a dream that other people are fighting for. I'm free to love anyone. Isn't that, right?" 

"Yeah you're right, but other people are also free not to love you back, right?" 

"Hahahaha...you really are an interesting guy, Aiden. I'm sure that I will never find a guy like you again in this world." 

Samantha who laughed made Aiden feel even more uneasy, thinking back to the conversation he had with Chloe this afternoon. If everything Chloe said about Samantha was true, it meant that he had been caught in a very unfavorable situation for her. 

In fact, by the time they got to the hotel where the party was taking place, Aiden couldn't stop thinking about what he should do to end this one-sided relationship. 

In contrast to Aiden who looks cold, Samantha actually dared to show affection in public by continuing to embrace Aiden into the party room. Samantha really likes to be the center of attention, when all eyes are on her and look at her in awe. 

"Good evening, Sam? How are you?" Said a blonde haired woman wearing a sparkling ball gown. 

"Good evening, Evelyn? Nice to see you here!" 

"Wow... he's the famous super model Aiden Supernova, right? It turns out you're really dating him, huh?" Evelyn said, glancing at Aiden who was standing beside Samantha. 

"Aiden, she's Evelyn Anderson, my friend from college!" 

"Hey Aiden, nice to meet you!" Evelyn said as she stretched out her hand to shake his hand. 

"Pleased to meet you!" Because he had no choice, Aiden was forced to act like a dream lover. 

It wasn't only this woman in a sparkling dress who came over to the golden couple, but almost everyone in the room greeted them one after another, as if not allowing him to breathe in peace without having to put on a friendly face with a thin smile. Yes, it's really tiring. Aiden never liked parties and this wasn't a place he wanted to spend his time.

"You look annoyed, are you tired?" Asked Samantha as she handed a glass of wine to Aiden's hand who was standing alone on the balcony of the hotel. 

"Can we go home now? I want to rest!" 

"I didn't know you would whine like a child wanting to go home and meet his pet cat, we can't go home now!" 

"Why? It's already 10 o'clock and we've been at this party for almost 3 hours. I think that's enough, you've also met and talked to a lot of people. Isn't that enough?" 

"You know? At every party I go to, everyone will definitely make me the center of attention. Isn't the center of attention not allowed to just walk away?" 

"Your attitude right now is very different from when we first met at your sister's party, could it be that you really are like this?" 

"Not really! Tonight I'm so excited because I'm here with you. Can't you see the eyes of the men that keep on looking at you? They are the men I rejected and I feel they are very jealous of your current position. Aren't you very lucky, Aiden?" 

"Yeah, I'm really lucky. But I have no problem sharing this luck with them." 

"So, you want me to be with one of them, is that it?" 

"Yes, if you don't mind!" She said. There was silence for a moment, until finally Samantha burst out laughing and took Aiden by surprise. 

"Hahaha... what are you talking about? I already have you. I don't need anyone, I only want you, my dear?" Samantha said while gently touching Aiden's face with her hand. 

Whatever Aiden's attempts to get this woman away from him, it's not going to be easy. Samantha already has a strong determination to win his heart, his love and also his life. He realized that he had chosen the wrong opponent. 

Samantha leaned in front of Aiden and deliberately showed off the beauty of her body covered in a light dress. Her face was getting closer, trying to give a touch that they should have done from the start. 

Aiden was silent, his body stiff. If the admiration he once felt for Samantha was still there and if he had never loved Nina, maybe he would not have resisted the touch Samantha was trying to offer him. However, whenever something like this is going to happen, his anxiety will arise from the discomfort he feels with a woman. Only Nina keeps him going and can do even hotter things. 

Just as Samantha's face was right in front of his eyes, Aiden suddenly came to his senses and pushed the body backwards away from him. 

"F-forgive me!" He said nervously. Yes, he just rejected a woman he wanted some time ago. 

Samantha was silent with her face downcast, unable to believe that she had just been pushed away like a disgusting piece of trash. It's embarrassing, it's really embarrassing. Something that had never happened in her life, she had never even imagined. 

"Aiden, you-' 

"I'm sorry! Can we go home now?" He asked. For a minute, Samantha was silent and reluctant to answer, as if she was thinking about something. That worried Aiden because Samantha looked really angry. 

"Okay, let's go home!" 

After answering, Samantha immediately stepped out of this lonely balcony and returned to the lavish party filled with important people. 

Without excuse, Aiden immediately left this place and walked to the car park while waiting for Samantha. After 10 minutes of waiting, Samantha came with a sour face that he could interpret as a sign of anger. 

"You even left without saying goodbye to them!" 

"I'm sorry, but I'm really tired!" 

"Yeah, that's fine. I told them you weren't feeling well, so we could get home early!" Samantha said as she got into the car. 

"Thank you, I'm really sorry!" 

"Apologize for what? You don't look sorry at all. I know you pushed me away from you on purpose and you did it, Aiden!" 

"I'm going for a walk now!" He said while driving his car. 

"You managed to hurt me, you did-" Samantha looked so hurt and this made Aiden feel guilty. 

"Because of that, I don't want to hurt you, so-" 

"But, why do I love you more? Why do I want you more? Why, Aiden? Why?"
