Chapter 74

Samantha smiled sarcastically, looking at Emily's reaction who looked disappointed at the answer she gave. Samantha admitted that she was a little surprised to know how Aiden was in a past that was so far from her imagination. 

But Samantha also realizes that humans will change and that is an absolute thing that will be experienced by everyone, whoever it is. One thing she didn't quite understand, what was Emily's real reason for doing all this? Was it because she hoped that Samantha would withdraw from this fight? 

"Yes, I understand. But do you know what he used to be like? Not only has his appearance changed, but his personality as well. Aiden I used to know, was just a cowardly boy who was geeky and didn't have any friends. Also, he's always been victim of bullying by a boy who is much stronger and more powerful than him," Emily said, still with the same intention. Hoping her opponent would change her mind, if she found out that her boyriend was just a pathetic ex-loser. 

"Really? Aiden's been bullied?" Samantha asked, showing the reaction Emily expected. 

"Yes, not just once. But I heard, he even experienced it as a child. I feel very sorry for him, his life at that time was very hard." 

"How are the parents? Is the family okay?" 

"His parents separated when he was 10 years old and he lived with his mom who was a professor and lecturer in Canada, his dad remarried to a woman who already had three children. Oh yes, his dad was not just anyone. He is a famous architect as well owner of the largest construction company in Canada. So, you could say that Aiden is actually the son of a well-known millionaire." 

Samantha couldn't believe what she was hearing, especially in the part where Aiden is the son of a successful businessman. It seems, his life is very far from her expectations. 

"So, why did you two split up? Was it you who left him?" 

"Yes, I broke off relations with him. At that time my dad's company went bankrupt and my dad also had a heart attack. In order to restore the family's financial condition, I was forced to leave him and have a relationship with a friend at our school." 

"Because the man is rich?" 

"Yes, because at that time I had no choice." 

"Not because you don't have a choice, but because you didn't have sincere intentions for him from the start. You just want to play him because you see him being so innocent, kind and loving. But, why don't you just maintain your relationship with him? Isn't he son of a wealthy businessman? I'm sure he'll help you if you ask him to!" 

"Aiden has a bad relationship with his dad, you could say they are not close. So it's useless if I expect a lot from him." 

"Hahaha... I see, you clearly showed that you're only in a relationship because of money, don't you think?" 

"A person whose life is constantly filled with luck like you doesn't understand how it feels when you are forced to sacrifice for your family. So, you don't deserve to judge me like that!" 

"Yes, maybe you're right. But unfortunately, now all I see from your face is regret. When you realize that, the ex-boyfriend that you dumped doesn't even glance at you." 

"Why are you so sure?" 

"Isn't that the reality? Now that Aiden's life has changed, luck is on his side. He is very attractive, famous and rich, he has a bright future. Besides that, he also has me, a woman who really loves him sincerely. So, I am also concerned for you." 

"Yes, we'll see. Who will laugh last. Don't forget that there is one woman who cannot be underestimated." 

"I know, I know even more than you!" 

"Oh yes?" 

"Aiden and Nina love each other." 

"What? What do you mean?" 

"Hahaha... I thought you only knew what was on the surface. But I know everything, everything that happened to the two of them even when Aiden and I were already lovers." 

"Wait a minute, what do you mean?" 

"He loves Nina, but that stupid woman turns him down. I don't know the reason, but one thing is clear, she's just pretending." 

"How did you know that?" 

"That stupid woman is probably just like you, just wants to play with Aiden or just take advantage of him. But Aiden who has been blinded by love, still acts like a beggar begging for her love to be accepted. It's so sad and it makes me so angry!" 

"Aiden loves Nina? No way!" 

"You know what he said to me, when I asked him why he was ignoring me? He answered bluntly that at that time he was spending the night with Nina. He didn't think about my feelings at all and acted like a jerk who was free to do what he want!" 

These two women are immersed in their own emotions, Samantha who unconsciously continues to vent her anger on her own rival and Emily who is very shocked by the fact that Aiden's heart now really belongs to someone else. 

"Why are you telling me everything?" Emily aksed confused. 

"I just want you to know that you've lost. You won't have another chance." 

"So, you're saying you've already won, is that it?" 

"I'm not saying that I have won. But I still have a chance to win this fight!" 

"Hahahaha...why would a woman like you bother to fight over a man? You should be able to choose which man you want to date." 

"Yes, you're right. But unfortunately I prefer something challenging. After all, my feelings for Aiden are genuine, unlike you and that woman. We are different!" 

"You sure do!" 

"Yes, because I know that only I can make him happy," Samantha said. Emily chuckled at the disdainful look Samantha showed her. 

"You might have a chance for that, but don't forget, that I have memories that you and that woman don't have with him. We've been through good times and I'll do anything to be able to repeat those times again. I will not give up, Samantha. I will definitely make her see me again!" Emily got up and walked towards the door, having left a statement that made Samantha actually view her as an enemy. 

Some time after Emily left, Samantha looked back at the mirror. Her anger subsided a little, but it seemed, there was a new problem she would face. On the dresser, a magazine with Aiden's photo on it made Samantha remember what Aiden had said that day. 

Samantha held the magazine and looked at the man who had changed her life. The greater the hatred in her heart, will only make the love in her heart even greater. 

"I won't, I won't leave you to anyone! I won't let them have you. You are mine, Aiden. Only mine!"
