Chapter 46

"Okay, let's try to find another door. There might be one!" He said. Nina nodded in agreement. 




The two of them walked together through the gripping darkness. With minimal lighting, Aiden and Nina had to walk slowly to make sure nothing strange got in their way. 




"The hairs on my neck are standing up, I want to go home!" Nina whined like a child, making Aiden even more annoyed that she had made them experience all of this. 




"Don't be loud! It's all your fault!" 




"Aiden, don't walk too fast!" 




"If you are slow, I will leave you!" 




"You're so cruel!" 




Braaak... 




"Kyaaaa...." Nina screamed after hearing something fell to the floor in front of them. 




"Hey, don't scream in my ear, you idiot!" 




"Aiden, what's that sound? I'm scared, save me!" Nina screamed hysterically and immediately pulled Aiden's shirt forcibly. 




"Ouch... let go of your hand! My expensive jacket will be torn!" 




Ciiiittt.... ciiiittt... 




"Kyaaaa..." Nina screamed again and immediately jumped on Aiden's back when a mouse passed by his feet. 




"Hey, get down! Let me go!" 




"I don't want to go down, I'm afraid!" Nina whined who hugged Aiden's neck tightly. 




"Ouch... you're just troublesome! Come down hurry!" 




"No, my body is light, you'll be strong, no problem, right?" 




"It doesn't matter your eyes! You talk freely!" 




Nina who insisted on not getting off, had to let Aiden hang on his back. At least make the back of the neck feel warmer than before. 




"Damn, your phone battery is about to run out, how about this?" 




"What percent is left?" 




"There's only 18 percent left. We can't possibly keep looking for a way out in the dark like this. What can we do, tonight we have to stay here until tomorrow!" 




"What? I don't want to be here?" 




"What can we do? We don't have a choice! When things get clear, it's very likely that we can find a way out or someone might want to help us!" 




"Ah...I don't want to, there are no toilets here!" 




"So, what else can I do? Don't complain all the time!" 




"I need to pee, how about this?" 




"Just get it out on that wall!" 




"What? But there's no water or tissue, right?" 




"If you keep protesting, just hold on until tomorrow!" 




"Then, accompany me okay?" 




"What? Why?" 




"I'm afraid to be alone! Please with me, you just stand here!" Nina said as she got off Aiden's back and walked carefully towards the wall of this spacious room. 




"Hurry, don't take too long!" 




"Yeah, don't peek okay?" 




"Why am I peeking, how could it be seen. You idiot!" He thought as he turned his back to Nina. Fifteen seconds later, Nina was done with her problem. 




"Are you done yet? It's been a long time!" 




"All right, let's go!" 




Duaaarrr... 




The sound of thunder struck with lightning which made the atmosphere even more tense. They froze in their places. Being trapped in this empty building alone was already a problem, plus the lightning and strong winds coming from outside, made their fears increase many times over. 




"Aiden, looks like it's going to rain outside. How about this?" 




"We don't have a choice, it looks like it's safe enough here. Let's just sit here!" Aiden said as he stepped into the corner of the room and sat against the wall. 




Nina was impressed to see Aiden who looked so calm, even though their situation could be said to be quite threatened at the moment. In an empty uninhabited building, there must be a lot of scary things in this place. 




Having no choice, Nina took a place beside Aiden and sat with her legs bent. 




"You are not afraid?" She asked, looking at Aiden who was sitting quietly beside her. 




"Of course I'm scared!" 




"But you look so calm!" 




"That's because I'm with a timid and troublesome woman like you. I had to use all my courage." 




"Is that so? I once watched a vlog on the internet about a group of youths who entered an empty building like this to test their courage. Instead of meeting ghosts or demons, they met a madman living in that empty building. You know what happened? Crazy people It chased them while carrying an ax and waving it at them!" 




"Why are you telling me something like that? You don't know where we are? You idiot!" 




"Sorry, I just want to tell a story so the atmosphere isn't too tense!" 




"It's getting even more tense, isn't it? You're so annoying!" 




Duaaarrr.. 




The lightning struck again along with the wind that was blowing hard and entered through the air holes in this building. 




"Cold-" Nina muttered. Her body shivered because the incoming wind made the temperature lower. 




She hugged her body to reduce the cold. Aiden who felt unbearable, was forced to take off his jacket. 




"Put this on!" Said Aiden while giving her, his jacket. 




"Are you sure? You're only wearing a short-sleeved shirt, you'll catch a cold later!" 




"Don't mind me. People like us are used to this kind of cold." 




"That's true. All right, thank you, okay?" Nina immediately put on Aiden's oversized jacket on her body. 




“Uhm…it feels so warm and smells so good-" 




The atmosphere returned to silence as they both sank into their own thoughts, hoping the sun would rise soon so they could get out of this place. 




"Aiden!" 




"Yes?" 




"Emily is your friend?" 




"Yes, that is so." 




"But I feel something strange. Do you have a special relationship?" 




"Why do you care?" 




"No, I was just curious-" 




"Since when have you been curious about my life?" Aiden asked while leaning his head against the wall and looking at Nina who was right beside him. 




"No, I just-" Nina turned her face to the side, looked at Aiden who looked very close before her eyes. 




"It's beautiful-" She muttered. 




"What?" 




"Your eyes are so beautiful," 




"Is that so? Thank you." 




Heartbeat .. 




Nina's heart beat faster than usual when she stared at a pair of extraordinarily beautiful eyes from a very close distance. 




"What happened to you?" 




"Nothing, I'm impressed by the color of your eyes-" 




"Oh..." Aiden closed his eyes and slowly, his head fell onto Nina's shoulder. 




"Aiden, are you sleeping?" asked Nina. Aiden didn't answer, in an instant he fell asleep on Nina's shoulder. 




"How is this? Why is he sleeping?" She tthought. Even though she's afraid to stand guard alone, she doesn't have the heart to wake him. 




"Well, what can I do. It's my fault anyway-" Nina pulled Aiden's head gently so he was lying in her lap. 




Aiden who was getting more and more sleepy, slept comfortably in the lap of the woman who had messed up his life as if he were on a soft bed. 




No body know what instinct prompted Nina to stroke Aiden's head gently. She confused herself, why she did it. It was as if a memory had entered her mind and made her unconsciously do this. 




"How can you fall asleep in a place like this? Where's the head getting heavy again. Anyway, you have to pay for this, Aiden!"

Aiden opened his eyes, the sound of rain could be heard from outside. Realizing that his head was in Nina's lap, he immediately raised his head in shock and couldn't believe that he had fallen asleep. 




"Nina, why did you let me sleep?" He asked. But she didn't answer, her head almost fell off, indicating that she was asleep. 




"Sleep, huh? Ok, what can I do?" He said as he sat leaning against the wall and gently pulled Nina's head so that it rested on his shoulder. 




Aiden found it funny, stuck in this place with someone who was a real pain in the ass for him. He realized that lately he and Nina had been seeing each other more and more often. Fighting, arguing, mocking each other, chasing each other, deceiving each other and other things that are very annoying. However, somehow it felt quite pleasant, like there was something different about his life. Aiden's life which has always been monotonous, is slowly turning more colorful.
