Aiden clenched his fists, trying to contain his anger because he felt he had been tricked and used by Julian. His plea that afternoon was nothing more than a cunning scheme to get 10,000 Dollars from Aiden.




"Tsk... I should have guessed this. Since when did that idiot give expensive gifts to this women! Damn, I'm so stupid, stupid!" Aiden shouted in his heart.




Seeing Aiden who was suddenly silent, made Nina immediately raise her head which she had previously leaned on the dining table.




"Aiden, tell me the truth. Is it true that Julian is very rich and the CEO of a construction company in Canada? Hurry up, answer honestly!"




"I have no obligation to answer!"




"Why? You intend to hide your friend's lies? Are you conspiring to cheat with him?"




"How presumptuous are you to accuse me! Why am I conspiring with him while I see you almost every day? I have nothing to do with all his actions!"

"Hmm... really?" Nina showed increasingly intimidating stares and smiles, making Aiden even more overwhelmed to dodge.

"Hmm...really? But yesterday you kept calling me and urging me to update the latest chapter, you even said that you've been waiting two hours for it!"




"I told you, I just want to find fault with you. So, don't be too confident! I didn't like your story at all!" Aiden insisted, for some reason it was so hard for him to admit the truth.

"Stop that, you idiot! I already told you, why don't you believe me too?" Aiden, who feels cornered, tries to seize control to keep Nina quiet and stop accusing him.




"Yeah...fine then, it's up to you! As long as you read the story, it means you keep buying paid chapters. So you're still adding to my financial coffers, ahahahaha..." She giggled, feeling proud whether she liked it or not. Like, Aiden has been following the story which means, he's going to keep spending money to buy the next chapter.

"Aiden, take me home, it's already eight o'clock!"




"I'm tired, go home take a taxi or bus there!"




"The taxi fare to my apartment is quite expensive, the bus is quiet at this time, I'm afraid to wait at the bus stop!"

The elevator door opened right on the first floor of the apartment building. Aiden rushes out to avoid Emily who might appear somewhere.




Seeing Aiden's strange behavior made Nina confused. What is Aiden trying to avoid that makes him act agitated like this?




"What are you doing? Looking for someone?"

"Avoiding me?" Said Emily who was already standing behind them.




"Appear too!" He said spontaneously. His heart was beating fast, running into an ex turned out to be scarier than meeting a ghost.




Emily smiled faintly with her hands folded forward. Aiden gulped, not meeting her, he was worried about. But meeting her when he was with Nina, that became a problem.




"Good evening, Emily?" Nina said who did not understand Aiden's anxiety at all.




"Good evening, you two want to go out, huh?"




"Ah...that-"




"You shut up!" Aiden said to Nina.




"What happened to you ?" Nina asked




"I want to take her home!"




"Oh... it's already late, right? Why don't you stay the night?" Emily asked.




"Tomorrow there is a morning lecture, so-"

"What are you doing? What's wrong?" Nina asked annoyed because Aiden kept interrupting her words.

Aiden was silent, it seemed that Emily's misunderstanding was getting bigger. Nina who did not understand the situation, could only remain silent because she did not know what was happening.

The elevator door opened, Emily immediately stepped into the elevator while waving her hand at Nina.




Aiden took a breath, he didn't know how to refute a woman's words other than just listening until the woman finished talking and put out all her arguments.

In the car, Aiden was just quiet with all the thoughts filling his brain and what he was worried about was what if Emily dared to tell all of her co-workers about Nina's whereabouts and they would definitely think that he and Nina were lovers.




"It seems Emily thinks that we are dating, huh?"




"You already know, don't you? It's all because of what you said at that time! Because you just spoke, she misunderstood!"




"So your relationship with Samantha has gone that far, huh?"




"We don't have any relationship! We're still colleagues."




"Is that so? So you're nervous because you're afraid Emily will tell Samantha about me, is that it?"
