Chapter 62

Aiden felt nervous, his thoughts and feelings clashed because they didn't go hand in hand. His thoughts compelled him to continue, in an attempt to avenge the hurt he felt. But his heart refused, because a ridiculous attempt like this only made him act like a child. 




"Sorry to keep you waiting, let's go!" Samantha said who had just come out of the locker room. 




Aiden smiled bitterly, his face showing absolutely no positive reaction from the decision he had chosen. Now, Samantha stood before him and waited for his command. 




"You look so pretty!" He praised. Only a classic compliment like that was all he could say to change the awkward atmosphere that only himself felt. 




"Thank you, where are we going?" 




"How about dinner? However, I haven't made reservations for-" 




"Don't worry, I have an acquaintance who can help us. He's the manager at a famous French restaurant, so I think we can go there!" 




"Okay." 




Without warning, Samantha immediately took Aiden's arm to guide him to the parked car. Aiden felt more and more nervous, a different feeling than he would have with the banana girl. 




On the way, Aiden didn't even open a conversation that could help melt this awkward atmosphere. His mind only revolves on the same object, namely Nina. Aiden, who was still scavenging for hope by thinking, maybe Nina was testing him, while he was so quick to make a decision. 




"You look really tense, what's wrong?" 




"No, I'm just nervous because tonight you look prettier than usual." 




"Really? Does that make you nervous?" 




"A little-" 




"Hahaha... you're a very funny guy, actually I'm also a little nervous. Because this is the first time I'm so looking forward to a guy." 




"Is that true?" 




"Yes, men have always tried to persuade me to go out for dinner with them, no matter how much I tried to resist. But they were so persistent and sometimes I felt sorry for them." 




"So none of them caught your eye?" 




"There isn't any!" 




"Really? Why is that?" 




"I don't know either, that's why I'm confused, why can I look forward to you so much!" She said. Aiden fell silent, the more he continued, the harder it was to stop. Regardless, he was fully aware of the signals Samantha was showing him. If he dodged now, it would only make him a heartless evil man. 




Aiden's car stopped in the parking lot of a famous French restaurant, like a romantic couple, Aiden and Samantha hand in hand entering the restaurant door. 




A man in a full suit immediately greeted with a big smile and Aiden could guess who the man was, who was none other than the manager of this restaurant. 




"Samantha,,good night?" Greeted the man as he reached out for a shake and Samantha grabbed his hand immediately. 




"Good evening Mark. How is it? Is there a table for two?" 




"Hahaha... if it's for you I will definitely try. Oh, I almost forgot. Nice to meet you, I'm Mark Martin, the restaurant manager and Samantha's friend from college!" Mark said while holding out his hand to Aiden. 




"Oh... hi Mark, nice to meet you. I'm Aiden Supernova, Samantha's friend-" 




"Friend, huh? So, Sammy? I hope this time you're really serious, huh?" 




"You, I've always been serious. All right, where is it?" 




"Oh... let me take you!" Mark said while showing a special table for Aiden and Samantha. 




Mark set a table for two, right on the restaurant balcony. That said, this place looks even more special because you can see the beautiful views of the City of New York, especially at night. 




"Please! What's the menu?" 




"Prepare the most delicious wine, I believe you know best!" said Samantha. 




"Hoho... of course, how's the food?" 




"Aiden, what would you like to order?" 




"Steak," 




"All right, steak two!" 




"Please wait!" Mark said as he walked away leaving Aiden and Samantha who were awkward again. 




Aiden's gaze turned to the sky which looked deserted because of the stars hiding behind the clouds. 




"Are you still thinking about her?" 




"N-no, I just-" 




"I know, Aiden  You don't need to hide it from me. Instead I can understand your feelings, it's weird if you can quickly erase your feelings. Doesn't that mean you're not serious?" 




"You're right, that's why I'm sorry. I feel guilty because I still think about him when you're with me." 




"It's okay, you don't need to apologize. I'll be waiting for you. And until then, I'll make sure that I'm the only one in your eyes!" Samantha held Aiden's hand and looked into his eyes. 




Aiden understood, he wished he could fall in love with the woman in front of him right now. He wants a natural feeling, but for him who doesn't really understand what love is, Aiden can only pretend as if he is a man who falls in love so easily. 




Drrrnggg...drrrnggg... 




Aiden's phone rang, an incoming call from Nina made the atmosphere suddenly more tense than before. 




Samantha immediately reacted coldly, seeing Aiden who was about to stand up to pick up the phone which she assumed was from the selfless bully who humiliated her pride as a classy woman. 




"From Nina?" Asked Samantha who immediately held Aiden's hand. 




"Yeah, I'll pick it up in a minute!" 




"Why is she still contacting you? Didn't she reject you already?" 




"Ah... how can I say that she actually works at my house?" He thought. 




"Maybe there's something she wants to say, I'll just talk briefly-" 




"No! I'm not letting you take her calls!" 




"Samantha, I just-" 




"No! If you insist, I will go home now!" She said threateningly. 




Aiden was silent, who would have thought that Samantha would be so angry just because Nina contacted him? Aiden was totally wrong, he didn't know how to deal with a jealous woman at all. He realized that he sucked, really sucked at this. 




"Okay, I understand. I'm sorry!" He was forced to reject Nina's call and turn off his phone so that Samantha's anger would subside. 




"I'm sorry, but this is really unfair to me!" 




"What do you mean?" 




"What is in her that is not in me?" 




"Nothing, you even have everything she doesn't have." 




"So why? Why do you still hope for her?" 




"I don't understand Samantha. All I know is that I love her. That's all!" 




"Then, forget about her! From now on, erase her from your mind!" 




"Samantha, I-" 




"Love me, Aiden! From now on, love me!" She asked earnestly. Aiden was stunned, seeing the great confidence that radiated from her eyes, making Aiden not move. 




"But I-" 




"Love me! From now on, only me in your heart, only me, Aiden!"

"Why was he refused? What's wrong with him? He left and didn't say anything. How about this? Can I just go home now?" Nina muttered who was annoyed because her phone was ignored by Aiden. 




She sat on the couch, with thoughts filling her head. Taking a breath, Nina looked at the clock on her phone which showed 7.30 pm. She felt something strange in her heart, Aideb had only been gone a few hours, somehow she already felt homesick. 




Aiden who had left since the afternoon in neat clothes, didn't even tell her where he was going and when he would be back. Now, Nina has finished all the work and she should be able to go home. But Aiden forbade her to go home before he got home, for whatever reason, it's just that, at that time she had promised to wait for him. 




"Aiden, where exactly are you? You annoying!"
