Chapter 100: Tank
*You’re a closet romantic and I love that about you. – Evie*
Priscilla powered up the laptop on the desk in Ink’s room. Typically, Camille was the one dealing with the editing side of the projects. But this time, it was only Priscilla that had been hired. And sworn to secrecy.
She sat in the black and gray gaming chair and looked around the room.
“I wonder if they have sex in here a lot.” She mused and Leo laughed. “Oh God. They probably have sex on the desk.”
Leo sat on the bed laughing. “Pretty sure that they fuck on the bed.”
“I don’t think so.” She put the SD card in and pulled up the editing program. “Too boring. Make sure that door is locked.”
Priscilla uploaded the pictures and sat waiting for everything to update. Turning to look at him,she issued a warning.
“If you tell anyone what I’m about to tell you, I will deny everything and let you suffer the wrath of Tank.”
“I won’t tell a soul.” Leo said sitting back down on the end of the bed.
He even crossed his heart, zipped his lips and threw away the pretend key. She rolled her eyes and smirked at him. Then she turned back to the computer and grew serious.
“Tank has killed several people. Bare handed. Snapped a guy’s neck in the bar.”
“Seriously?”
“Yup. Watched it myself.” She said watching the spinning circle on the screen. “And doesn’t regret it.”
“Why?”
“The guy was an ass. Beat on his old lady, and not the way they do. Tank was fully patched and had just moved Athos in.”
“Not that long ago.” Leo observed. He knew that Athos had moved into the clubhouse with his brother the summer before he started high school. It was a topic of discussion on more than one occasion.
Patch, the former president of the Shack, had allowed it under certain conditions. Basically, Athos had been a prospect for four years. And had to maintain an A average along with one extra curricular activity. When Patch stepped down and Toad was elected, he had been allowed to stay.
Priscilla nodded half lost in her own thoughts. “I had a crush on him then and followed him around like a little lost puppy dog. Let’s face it, I still follow those three around.”
“I’ll start calling you D'Artagnan.”
Priscilla smirked. “Anyway, it was church night and everyone was coming in. I came in with dad, because I always do.” She gave a little shrug. “The idiot was in the bar bragging about how he almost was going to be a dad. Telling anyone who would listen that he beat the baby out of her.”
“It had already been decided that he wasn’t going to be patched. He wasn’t a Saint. Tank had enough of it. Walked over and grabbed his head and just snap. Church was called and they left him laying there.”
“A couple of them came out, loaded him in the back of the van and that was that. Never mentioned him again.”
“And Molly just let you see this? You were what? Eleven?” Leo was upset that she had seen the ugly side of the club. Even more upset that she had been a child at the time.
At sixteen she was still considered a child. Which is why they had a strange relationship with each other. Most of their dates were at her house with at least one of her parents around.
“Dad doesn’t know I saw it. I wasn’t supposed to be in the bar. Athos doesn’t even know I saw it and he’s my best friend. And if you say anything, you can find out what they did to him.”
He let out a deep sigh. “I won’t say anything. How do you know that he’s killed others?”
“You mean other than the fact that he snapped a neck like he was opening a beer bottle?” The pictures loaded and Priscilla scrolled through looking for the one she wanted.
“I guess that does imply that he’s had a little practice.” He grinned as a picture filled the screen. Watching her with amazement, Priscilla adjusted the picture until it was just how she wanted it.
The fireworks in the background provided enough light to see what was going on. The first picture was of the two men presenting their woman with the rings. Their faces were reflecting the green and gold explosion of lights in the sky.
If he were to pick a favorite, it would be the one right before she flung herself at them. Her whole face radiated love, surprise, adoration and happiness. The fireworks were red and silver hearts and her face glowed.
He wondered how Tank and Ink had planned it out so well. Or maybe it was just coincidence that the hearts were in the background. Either way, it was a beautiful and sweet moment that she had captured for them.
Priscilla finished up the rest of the pictures as someone knocked on the door.
“You want me to get that?” Leo asked standing up.
“Please. If it’s anyone other than Ink or Tank, don’t let them in.” She said going back to the heart picture and adding something to it.
Ink gave him a look that had Leo rethinking all of his life choices. “I swear, nothing has happened. I just sat on the bed and watched her do the pictures.”
“Go help Nessie clean up the kitchen, prospect.” Ink commanded. “And by help, I mean you do exactly what she says and she doesn’t lift a finger.”
“Yes, sir.” He bolted down the hall as Ink entered the room chuckling.
“I wouldn’t do anything in here.”
“My room?”
“The compound.” Priscilla clarified. “You guys would probably kill the guy before I could even get off.”
“I would at least let you come on his face before I killed him. Molly would kill him just for being up here.” He kissed the top of her head. “Which is why I’m not going to say anything. But you do know that Werewolf has video of you two making out?”
“Oh God!” she paled at that thought.
“Thank your moms for Molly not knowing about it.” He looked at the screen. “Were those the actual fireworks?”
“Yeah. You two proposed with hearts in the background. Couldn’t make this shit up.”
“Can you send me that one?”
“I can. I can also send it out as a mass message.”
“Just the three of us right now.” He confirmed as his phone chimed. “Now, let’s go find my brother and bride.”
