Chapter 216: Numbers

**This is Chance's story.**

*I had a meeting with Toad and Brute today. Need you to be at the next one. – Trigg*

In September, the presidents of the three local Devil’s Saints motorcycle clubs had a meeting at Sinner’s Shack. It was the newest and largest clubhouse. located in what was going to be a luxury hotel. What the three men discussed was being kept a secret from the rest of the members.

It was said that Toad’s niece was included. But the rumor that a club girl was also in the meeting kept anyone from worrying.

Chance was perched at the bar when Trigg came into Pop’s Place. It was the second clubhouse that had been opened. And was named for Chance’s grandfather.

“Just who I was looking for.” The man with dirty blonde hair said looking at Chance. “My office.”

Suddenly, Chance found himself worried about what his latest conquest might have complained about. She certainly wasn’t complaining when she left his room last night. Or even this morning.

“Whatever she said-"

“Believe it or not, this is not about your dick.” Trigg said as he sat down behind his desk. “Close the door.”

For the next hour, Trigg went over everything that had been discussed in the four-hour meeting. Condensed and without the meandering conversations and sidetracks.

Keeping everything under wraps, Chance worked in one of the empty offices. He researched requirements, regulations, and certifications.

By the time he met with the presidents two weeks after the initial meeting, he knew more about opening a new business than he ever thought he would.

During the first week of October, the presidents and Karan went and looked at several locations. A large warehouse. A former office building. Two large houses. Empty lots. An old school. And a church that had moved to a newer building.

Chance was tasked with working up the numbers for each location. The more time he spent with Trigg or in his new self-proclaimed office, the more his brothers knew that Chance knew what was going on.

The rumors that were going around all three clubhouses had everyone worried. Chance got used to saying that he couldn’t say.

“I’ve always wanted to do this.” Chance grinned and then used his beer bottle as a microphone. “I have no comments at this time.”

“Are you done with your press conference over there?” Trigg asked as he took his place at the table.

“I will be taking no further questions. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.” Chance said into his beer.

“Celt, do something with him.” Viper said as the wives and other old ladies entered the room.

“I specifically made sure that in my wedding vows, I was *not* responsible for any of my brothers-in-law.” the large redhead said as his wife sat on his lap.

“True story.” Mia grinned as Celt rubbed her belly. “It’s in the prenuptial. If we get divorced, I *have* to take Chance.”

“Smart man.” Trigg said and motioned for everyone to quiet down. “I’m sure that you’re wondering why the ladies are in here.”

There was a murmur that went around the room and several brothers nodded.

“They won’t be here for long. But” he paused and looked around the room, “we are looking at a business venture and we need their input. We believe that this will help quite a few of you.”

“There will be a family meeting on Saturday at the Shack. Nessie and her girls are serving lunch. Childcare will be provided.”

“Who’s watching the kids?” Claire asked her dad as she sat in her husband’s lap.

“Some of Nessie’s girls and some of the older teens have volunteered.” Trigg said knowing that the ladies here would object.

He sat back and let them rant and rave as he pulled his own wife into his lap. Seeing that the room was busy and not paying any attention to them, he had Sid straddle him. As he nibbled on her neck, he promised more activities later.

“Dad!” Dutch yelled. “I don’t want to see you fuck mom!”

“I wouldn’t object.” Chance said offhand.

“Shut up, slut!” Dutch countered as Sid moved off Trigg’s lap.

“Look,” Sid said and then turned and looked at her husband as he pulled her back into his lap.

“Go on.” Trigg grinned as he slid his hands under her shirt.

“Keep that up and I’ll go stay at Charlotte’s tonight.” She warned and his hands quickly linked behind his head.

“Some of Nessie’s girls are actual employees, not bunnies. And the bunnies that work for her are kept on a tight leash. If they are working for her, they will not service the men.”

Sid looked around the room and her eyes stopped on Chance. “If they do, they lose their job. If they live at the Shack, they get kicked out. They lose all benefits of being with the Saints.”

“Why are you looking at me?” he demanded. “I like my oysters right where they are. And I don’t want that crazy bitch cutting them off.”

The whole room filled with laughter. On more than one occasion, Nessie had chased Chance away from her girls while they were working. She had threatened to cut off his oysters so often, that her oyster bisque was now called Chance Stew.

“So, lunch Saturday at the Shack at one. Family meeting at three.” Trigg summarized. “If there’s any further concerns, get with me after church. Ladies, if you have questions, please see my lovely wife.”

He stood them both up and gave her a toe-curling kiss before swatting her on her butt and nudging her towards the door.

“Ladies, please excuse us. Assholes, let’s get this over with; I want to go fuck my wife.”

“Dad!” His children that were there all yelled at him.

“What? Don’t tell me that you think we don’t have sex. We have nine of you shitheads.” Sid rolled her eyes.

“They think we quit having sex after we had Camille.” Trigg laughed.

“Ladies, I highly recommend sex on the back of the bike.” Sid grinned at her husband.

“Wonder if it’s just as good now as it was then.” Trigg asked with a smile.

“I’m going to be sick.” Bambi declared as she and the other women left.
