Chapter 78: Patch

*Never thought I’d want one of my girls to be property. – Isaac*

The group had moved inside the clubhouse and were sitting at some tables pulled together in the bar. Tensions were still high. But they had all relaxed.

At least no one was currently plotting to kill anyone else.

Every time the front door opened, Tank and Ink looked for Evie. Finally, she walked into the bar holding her dad’s hand. Unable to contain themselves, they both rushed to her.

Isaac stepped out of the way as they both hugged and kissed her. He stepped away from his daughter and towards the Renegades.

“Reed.” Her father said. Reed nodded before leaving. It was not long before he returned with a flat black box about twelve inches square. Sitting back down at the table, he passed the box to Isaac.

“Eves,” Isaac said with his voice cracking. “We need to talk. Bring your men.”

Tank wrapped an arm around her waist and Ink still held her hand as they approached the table. When they sat down in chairs next to each other, she was in Tank’s lap. Ink’s fingers remained intertwined with hers.

“Law called me one morning.”

“I called the parents the morning we went and looked at that house. The morning I decided that you need more walls.” Law said bluntly. “Especially if I’m going to sleep on your couch while you’re getting fucked in the ass.”

“Should have stayed at the clubhouse.” Ink reminded him.

“At least one of our girls took after her mother.” Isaac commented.

“Oh, fuck. It’s Dixieland Delight all over again.” Law complained and Isaac looked over at his son. “You can give me that look all you want.” Law said. “I’m not a sub. Not going to cave to your will.”

Roscoe held up a pair of keys. “I will gladly hand over the keys to your new bike to someone else.”

“Shutting up.” Law said grabbing his beer.

“Eves, when he called, we called Joshua. He told us about your new masters, and yes, Isiah ran backgrounds on them. But we needed to meet them. See them for ourselves.”

“Evie, eyes.” Reed said and her eyes flew to his. “I spoke with them earlier. After Law called. They asked me for something. You know what’s in the box, don’t you?”

“Yes, Sir.” She whispered, squeezing Ink’s hand as her eyes filled with tears.

“Do you want it?” Roscoe asked her.

“Yes, Sir.”

Roscoe nodded and Hayden stood up and stepped over to where she sat with her new men. He offered her a hand and saw how the men bristled.

“I promise, we will give her back to you. But we need to say goodbye to our lady.”

Evie looked at Ink who nodded. Tank kissed her hair and then tapped her hip. Tentatively, she placed her hand in Hayden’s and let him pull her to her feet.

Hayden kissed her forehead. “Love you, sister.” The other Renegades also kissed her forehead and gave her their love. Reed nodded at both Tank and Ink. “Take care of her.”

“We do.” Tank said as they both rubbed her back.

Roscoe hugged and kissed her forehead. “I love you, daughter.”

“I love you, too, Roscoe. Papi.” She murmured.

“She’s a special lady.” He told her men as he hugged her. “Treat her as such.” He let her go and slipped something in her hand. Looking at it, she was unable to contain herself. Holding the patch to her chest, she began to sob. “None of that, little eve.”

Isaac pulled her to him and held her close as she cried. “It’s okay Eves. It’s okay to keep living. It’s okay to love again. It’s okay to move on. It’s okay to hurt. And it’s okay not to hurt. It’s okay not to be okay. It’s not okay to just stop. It’s not okay to give up. You can always come home. But not without that patch.”

She nodded and clutched the patch even tighter behind his back. “If there’s an issue, we work it out.” Evie said with a smile. “Either with words, or with a pig snout.”

“Pig snout?” Ink asked looking at Tank who looked just as worried.

“We have a wild hog problem in Texas.” Roscoe explained. “The only good thing is that they eat everything.”

“Especially spiders lately.” Colt lamented.

“Enough, Renegade.” Roscoe warned.
