Chapter 284: Pop's Place

*Bring her for church. The other old ladies will be here also. – Trigg*

Monday before the wedding, Chance drove the hatchback over to Pop’s Place for church. Rye rode in the passenger seat, nervous. He had explained that Pop’s was smaller than the Shack, there would not be near as many people there.

But she knew that a lot of the women that had been his lovers would be there. Karan had admitted that she had been with him before she and Cookie became serious. Somehow it was different with her. Probably because she liked Karan before she and Chance got involved. Even before she would talk to him.

Mia would be there. Although they started off rocky, it was getting better. Alana said that she would be there. For moral support, and possibly wine.

Chance pulled into the lot and parked over by the Nomad that his sister drove. As he got out, some of the guys that were standing outside called out to him as he had expected.

“Did she already take your man card?”

“Nice ride!”

“Oh, how the mighty have fallen!”

He laughed as he got Michael and his carrier out. Walking to the back of the car, he held his hand out for Rye. “You boys are just jealous that you don’t have a baby like mine.”

“You talking about your son or your woman?” Crow asked as Chance and Rye approached the door.

“Yes.” Chance answered with a grin.

Crow opened the door and then followed them in. “Bambi! He’s here!”

There was a squeal from down the hall as his wife ran out of her dad’s office and into the main area. She stopped in front of a still nervous Rye.

“Oh, Chance, she’s beautiful.” Bambi gushed as she took Rye’s free hand. Then she looked at him with a death glare. “You fuck this up, I will kill you, resurrect your ass so she can kill you and then I will dispose of your worthless body. Any of these assholes try to defend you and I will burn this whole fucking place down. With every one of you fucking shitheads in it.” She looked at her husband. “You included.”

Bambi looked back at Rye with nothing but sweetness. “I’m Bambi, Trigg’s daughter.” She said gently pulling Rye over to where Mia, Alana and the other old ladies were.

“See that crazy woman?” Crow grinned. “I married that.”

“I warned you not to.” Trigg said slapping his son-in-law on the back. “Let me see that little guy before the women steal him.”

Chuckling, Chance sat the carrier on a table and took Michael out. He smiled at Chance and grabbed his beard.

“Come here, peewee.” Trigg said accepting the baby. A little hand buried itself in the graying dirty blonde beard as Chance pried his own beard free. “Hell of a grip you got.”

“Wait until he gets your chest hair.” Chance smiled as Michael laughed.

“He’s how old?” Crow asked looking at the baby tucked against his president’s chest.

“Twelve weeks. Five pounds nine ounces.” Chance answered just like a proud dad.

“Never thought I’d see this day.” Preacher admitted. “Fatherhood looks damn good on you.”

“Thanks man.” Chance shook the older man’s hand.

“Come on, peewee. Let’s go have us a meeting.” Trigg said heading down the hall.

Crow laughed following his father-in-law down towards the chapel as the other men followed them. Chance and Celt were a few of the last ones. One of the club bunnies, Chrissy, stepped in front of Chance, putting her pampered hands on his chest.

“I’ve missed you. Why don’t we go to your room afterwards?” She purred.

“Not interested. Get your hands off me, please.” Chance said starting to move past her.

“I’ve seen your… girl, she won’t keep you satisfied, you’ll be back.” She smiled unzipping her dress.

“I won’t.” Chance told her as he moved to the doorway. “You’re embarrassing yourself.”

“Chrissy, find someone else.” Sid advised as she walked past. “You know the rules and I would have no problems kicking your ass out of here.”

Claire continued down the hall behind her mom to the common room, snickering at Chrissy as she stomped her foot. Sid and Claire approached the other women, each with a smile.

“The boys have gone to play macho. What are we doing tonight?” Sid asked sitting next to her other daughter.

“We need to have a hen’s night.” Bambi declared.

“I think Siobhan is planning something Wednesday.” Alana said pulling out her phone. “Rye, when do you graduate?”

“It was Saturday. They are mailing me my diploma.” She answered feeling more at ease around the women of the club.

“Why didn’t you go?” Bambi asked.

“It was in Georgia. No point in going down for boring speeches just to get a piece of paper.” Rye shrugged as she looked around. “Where’s Michael?”

“My husband has him.” Sid laughed. “What’s your degree in?”

“Elementary and special education.” Rye accepted the water bottle from one of the other wives.

“Siobhan has a bachelorette party planned for Wednesday. The girls were planning it for her. But they changed it to both of them.” Alana said texting on her phone. “Nessie has all the food and crap taken care of.”

“That woman is a godsend.” Claire said. “Toby takes the kids there for breakfast and I get to sleep. The nights that I go in early I don’t have to worry about him burning down the house.”

“Doesn’t Viper cook?” Aurora asked.

“Hell no! That’s why all of our kids are still alive.” Claire laughed. “I would almost trust Camille in the kitchen before him. Almost.”

"I heard it was only one little fire." Rye said and Sid laughed before telling the story of her youngest daughter catching the kitchen on fire at their house.

They continued with friendly conversations until the men started to wander back in. Trigg went and kissed both of his daughters and wife on their heads. The other men with women there did similar actions.

Chance gently pulled Rye to her feet. Resting his hands on her hips, he gave her a light kiss as she slid her arms around his neck. “You survived?”

“I did.” She grinned. “Where’s Michael?”

“Micro has him.”

“You better get that honey I want another baby out of your system.” Kelsea yelled at Micro as he came into the room. Startled, Michael let out a wail.

Preacher scooped up the baby on his way by and soothed him. Rye started to move towards him, but Chance kept her place with a slight shake of his head. The baby settled back down and went to sleep against the other man’s chest.

Chance smiled at Rye as he gently pulled her back to him and kissed her soundly. There were a few soft gasps from around the room. A beer bottle shattered as it hit the floor.

Chance tucked Rye under his chin and held her close. She tightened her arms around his neck and laid her head on his chest.

“Chrissy, clean up that bottle.” Sid said barely glancing at the angry woman.

“Have a prospect do it.” Chrissy said turning to go back down the hall.

“If a prospect cleans it, the next thing they clean will be your room.” Trigg warned.

With a huff, she began to clean up the mess. The entire time, she glared at the couple who were oblivious to her.
