Chapter 136: Freshmen
*Mom, how come I’m the only girl? And the only single? – Monica*
Evie sat at her desk as her last class of the day found their way in. She had kept her chalkboard paint but the other colors had changed over the years. Currently, it was teal blue and cream.
The last two kids into the room were, of course, her oldest sons. “Boys, sit apart.”
They both paused and looked at her and she simply cocked an eyebrow at them. With a simple “Yes, ma’am” from each of them, they sat on opposite sides of the room.
David sat in a chair next to Nash O’Malley and Camden sat behind Tobias Lowery. Every year there were more and more kids from the club in her classes. Soon, the next generation would be occupying the desks in her room.
She wasn’t sure that she was ready for that.
It was bad enough that Law's daughter would be starting high school next year. And Athos and Michelle’s oldest would start the same year as Monica.
And God save the high school boys that decide to date any of those girls.
Monica was already an inch taller than her mom. And both boys were over six feet. David was older, but Camden was several inches taller. The older they got, the more you could see who fathered which one.
David was still lighter in complexion and not as bulky as his defensive lineman brother. But as a quarterback, he didn’t need as much bulk. Camden stood just under six and a half feet while David was just over six feet himself.
Their seven year old brothers, Nathan and Matthew, both resembled Tank. While four year old Nicholas and Robert were miniature copies of Ink.
Evie knew that none of her older kids were done growing and dreaded the next round of clothes shopping. And Monica had her father’s height and her mother’s complexion. It was the dark brown eyes that told who her father was.
She always complained that she didn’t have the pretty green eyes that David had. Or the dark tan of Camden. Evie was just glad that she did not inherit her short stature.
Monica was showing all the submissive traits that her mother had. It only took their fathers catching the boys ordering her around once for them to learn a very important lesson. Now if they were at the club and one of the older kids started telling Monie what to do, her older brothers intervened.
“How we treat her, is what she is going to expect from her boyfriend and later her husband.” Ink had told the then twelve-year-old twins. “Do you want a man bossing your sister around? Ordering her what to do?”
“Do you ever see your father or I doing that to your mother? Or to any woman?” Tank added and both boys looked ashamed.
The playroom in the basement was soundproofed and had a biometric lock on it. Their private activities remained that. Private.
After going over the classroom rules and syllabus, Evie opened the floor for open discussion. Five minutes before the bell rang, her alarm went off. When the class left, her boys remained.
“My boys are in high school.” Evie pretended to wipe away a tear.
“Dads are going to be crying for real when Monie starts high school.” David laughed.
“If she makes the cheer squad, she may get locked up in the basement.” Camden countered.
“Who said that my baby could try out for cheer?” Ink demanded from the doorway.
Evie rolled her eyes as the boys laughed. “You did take her to the meeting last week. And Tank has promised to be at tryouts tomorrow.”
“What time?”
“Right after school. Dino expects you to be late tomorrow.” Evie told him.
Smiling, he stepped over and kissed her. “I love you.”
She snuggled into his embrace. “I love you too. Don’t you boys have practice?”
“Yeah, but coach wants to talk to you.” David explained.
“He wants to have us try for varsity.” Camden added.
“My pet, shall we go talk to the coach?” Ink murmured against her hair.
“Call your dad. He should have already picked up your brothers and sister. And tell coach that we’ll be down in a few minutes.”
Both boys grabbed their backpacks and headed for the door.
“Our babies are growing up.” Evie whispered.
“Just means we’re getting closer to grandkids.” Evie looked up at his goofy grin as he shrugged. “What’s the old phrase? Spoil them and send them home!”
“Can we get them out of high school first?” Evie laughed.
“I threatened to pierce their dicks closed if they got a girl pregnant.”
"But I like your piercing." Evie purred quietly.
"I know." He kissed her lightly. "But they don't know about the fun of piercings."
"Keep telling yourself that." Tank said as he joined them. He kissed their wife before they snuggled her between them. "The boys met me on the stairs and took Monie and the little boys. They said something about varsity."
"I'm not ready for this." Evie admitted. "But I don't want to have another set of twins."
"We can try for a single." Tank suggested.
"I agree with Michaela. You two can have the next one." She squeezed out from between them and went to grab her laptop, bag and purse. "Of course, since I'm two weeks late, this conversation may be pointless."
