Chapter 131: Honeymoon

*It’s what every man dreams of for a honeymoon. A bride six months pregnant with twins and on bedrest. – Evie*

While the clubhouse was in full party mode downstairs, the bride and her two grooms were upstairs. Evie lay between them with her swollen feet propped on their legs. There was a soft knock on the door and Isaac stepped inside.

“How are you feeling, little Eves?” he asked his daughter as he looked at her ankles.

“Not very little.” She admitted as she struggled to sit up.

There was another knock on the door and Doc entered with Dr. Barkley. The three men spoke for a moment and then Doc left. He returned a moment later with his backpack.

“Going to check your blood pressure and all that stuff.” Doc said as Ink rolled off the bed giving the other man room to work. He checked her vitals and then reported them to the two doctors.

“You’re going to have to stay off your feet and come lay down if you feel tired.” Dr. Barkley advised.

“That’s not a problem.” Tank said as he also stood up. He scooped up his bride and carried her to the elevator with Ink following them.

“You realize that he’s not going to let her walk on her own until after the babies are born.” Doc grinned at the two men left in the room.

“Seriously?” Dr. Barkley asked.

“Very.” Isaac agreed. “That man is completely whooped.”

“Happily.” Doc agreed and led the way back downstairs.

The trio had cake, carefully fed to their bride. And not so carefully shoved into her grooms’ mouths. They both smiled at her despite the icing on their faces. Or maybe because of it.

Both men removed garters and tossed them over their shoulders. Chance caught one and Knuckles the other. When Evie went to toss the bouquet, Molly ushered his daughters away from the group.

Toad clapped Knuckles on his shoulder, looking at the lace now on his arm. "Looks like it might be time for you and me to have that talk." He teased the younger man.

“Molly, you’re going to have to let them grow up at some point.” Becks laughed.

“But not today.” He admitted and glared at Leo who quickly disappeared from the father’s view.

Laughing as she sat in the chair that Tank placed her in, Evie tossed the bouquet over her shoulder. It landed right in Camille’s hands.

"Nope!" Trigg objected loudly. "Give it back, let her throw it again!"

Sid laughed as most of their other children stood between the youngest and their dad. Dutch, the oldest son, grinned at his sister and yelled for her to run for her life.

Shortly after that, Evie tried to hide a yawn from her over observant men. Tank scooped her up and carried her back up to his room. He tucked her into bed and snuggled up behind her. When she woke up several hours later, it was laying between her two men.

Linking one hand with Tank and caressing Ink’s cheek, Evie smiled in the darkened room. Tank pressed a kiss to her neck. Ink smiled as he turned his head and kissed her palm.

“Merry Christmas.” She whispered. They both echoed the sentiment. “I left your presents at the house.”

“We promised Nessie that we’d have breakfast here before we headed home in the morning.” Ink told her.

“Your mom said something about teaching her to make Christmas tamales.” Tank added.

She moaned with pleasure. “I miss Christmas tamales. And the boys are getting hungry.”

“That’s because they didn’t have their 11 PM snack.” Ink told her leaning up on his elbow. He leaned over and kissed her before kissing her belly also. “I’ll be right back.”

He returned a few minutes later with a tray full of food. A prospect followed him in carrying several bottles of water, green tea that Evie had been craving and a pint of milk. Tank had already helped her to sit up and put a movie on the TV.

The three ate and watched Ralphie and his misadventures in getting a Red Ryder BB gun.

“You going to worry about the boys shooting their eye out?” Tank asked.

“No. They’re not even here yet and once they are, there’s at least five years before they can handle a BB gun.” She said leaning against Ink.

Ink gently took the nearly empty container of milk from her hand as Tank gathered up everything else. He took the tray to the kitchen where the prospect was waiting to wash the dishes.

“I’ve gotta pee.” Evie whispered to Ink.

“You better hurry.” He whispered back as he got out of the bed and helped her up to her feet. He couldn’t help but smile as she waddled into the bathroom.

“I’m not so bad that I would carry her to the bathroom.” Tank argued and Ink laughed.

“You carried her from the shower to the bed.”

“The floor was slick.”

“You don’t even let her go down the stairs by herself.”

“I’m not going to object to that one.” Evie said coming out of the bathroom. “I have no idea where my feet are.”

“They are still at the end of your beautiful legs.” Ink told her.

There was a knock on the door and Ink went to answer it as Tank helped Evie get dressed. Ink found Athos on the other side.

“Tank.” Ink called and motioned for the other man to enter. Tank stepped out of the closet carrying Evie to the bed.

“Dixie told me that she needed her girls to make Christmas tamales. What the hell makes Christmas tamales different from regular tamales?”

Evie laughed as Tank slipped crocs on her feet. “They’re made on Christmas.”

“That’s it?” Athos asked from the doorway.

“That’s it.” She agreed.
