Chapter 171: James

*Dad, mom is pregnant. How the hell did that happen? I mean I know how it happened. I’m just going to shut up now. – James*

“Why did no one tell me that Nessie was here?” James asked as he sat in the bar with his dad.

Riffraff sat three beers on the table as he sat in the empty chair. “You didn’t know?”

“None of the family knows where she is.” Toad explained. “You can’t say anything. She has a crazy ex that thinks she’s bouncing around Europe.”

“But she works here.” James said claiming a beer.

“Nope. There’s no paperwork or records that link her to the club.” Toad said watching the guys at the bar.

“Where’s her passport?” Riffraff asked.

“Ask Werewolf. Last I heard was Poland.” Toad shrugged as Cookie got between the two men at the bar that were arguing over football. As Toad grumbled about football, Knuckles joined them.

Noel brought a Guinness over for him. “Your kids are at the door.”

“Come on, kids.” Knuckles laughed as the cats ran for him. Two settled in his lap and the third on his shoulder.

“Are you sure that you got them for Nessie?” Riff teased.

“I got them for her. She got me for them.” He grinned as the cat on his shoulder nuzzled his cheek above his beard.

“So, you and Nessie?” James asked as he watched the rough, tattooed biker gently pet the cat.

“Yup.”

“How bad is her room?” Riffraff asked.

“We’re moving to a new room.”

“Just one room?” James asked.

“Just one.” Knuckles confirmed. “If I break her heart, my brothers will kill me. Keep your empty threats to yourself.”

“They’re not empty.” James argued.

“Compared to a hundred pissed off bikers? Some of them, barely reformed outlaws. And a fucking assassin.” Riffraff grinned. “They’re empty.”

“Don’t forget the MMA fighter.” Toad added.

“Yeah, don’t forget your wife.” Knuckles agreed.

“Never. My daughter probably would kill me.” Riffraff said as Nessie came in the bar. Several people stopped her to make sure she was okay.

“The club really loves her.” James observed.

“As much as the men love her, their women love her even more.” Toad smiled as Ness easily defused the football argument. “And the kids love her and her little devils even more.”

“Take all of that love, combine it together and double it to get how much the club girls love her.” Riffraff said, using his beer bottle to point to the group of women that had followed her in.

“She is special.” James agreed. “One of the old ladies from Pops Place said it wasn’t right for the club girls to be socializing with the families.”

“I’m guessing that Nessie shut that down in typical Nessie fashion?” Knuckles asked grabbing his beer.

“Oh yeah. Asked if her wedding dress was white and if there was a blood stain on the sheets the next morning.” James laughed. “Said if the answer to both wasn’t yes, then she should shut the feck up and learn what to do with her mouth.”

“That’s my girl.” Knuckles said as she approached the table with a glass of Guinness.

“Okay, kids.” Knuckles said and the cats climbed into his cut and he zipped it around them.

“They’re not supposed to be in here, and yeh keep letting them in.”

Knuckles tried to smile innocently. “Don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Nacht. Guess yeh don’t know about that tail either?” She asked pointing to the cat tail hanging out of his cut.

“Nope.” He pulled her into his lap and kissed her. “Find us a new room?”

“Aye.” She leaned into him, avoiding the cats, and laid her head on his shoulder. “Aunt Siobhan is taking me shopping tomorrow to replace the couch and stuff. Got any preferences?”

“Whatever I can sit and snuggle with you on.” He murmured against the top of her head. “They didn’t get your Grams afghan, did they?”

“No. Pagan’s daughter had borrowed it.”

“She feeling okay?” he asked resting his chin on her head.

“Yeah. She’s missing having a mum.” Nessie said closing her eyes. They spoke softly in Gaelic with Nessie occasionally correcting his pronunciation and phrasing.

“You’re getting pretty good.” Toad complimented.

“Have a good teacher.” He replied as a cat head popped out the top of his cut. Nessie reached out and scratched behind the ears causing it to start purring.

“That’s a weak motor. Hope your bike is better.” Dom said as she and Werewolf pulled chairs over to the table.

“Keeps my woman happy.” Knuckles grinned. “Both the cat and the bike.”

“Riding isn’t exactly safe.” Werewolf warned.

“Just around here.” Knuckles clarified.

“Are yeh gonna go talk to the lass? Or just stare at her all night?” Nessie asked James.

“Using your talents on me?” he grinned back at her.

Opening her eyes, she smiled at him. “Just the fact that yeh both are eye fecking each other.”

“And what about you?” James shot back with a grin.

“Not until the stones sing. Have yeh gone to see Grams?” she answered and his face fell.

“I will. Have plenty of time on my hands now.” He said standing up. “Going to go do a little more than just eye fucking.”
